Game 2: Boston Celtics vs. Indiana Pacers

The Celtics won their 2nd straight to start off the season at 2-0 in a hard fought battle with the Pacers. What gave the Celtics the slight edge for today's game was Jermaine O'neal's absence. O'neal went down in the first quarter after putting up 6 points and 5 rebounds, drawing a charge from Paul Pierce. O'Neal left the game with an injured hip. The Celtics and Pacers remained in a deadlock all the way to the end before the Celtics took the 1 point lead to come away with the 102-101 victory.

Jamaal Tinsley lead all scorers chalking up 32 points, and 7 asssists, James Jones added 19 including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. Paul Pierce lead the Celtics with 19 points, and 6 assists. Mark Blount put up his 2nd double-double of the season scoring 16 points and pulling down 14 rebounds, which again was made possible by the absence of O'Neal on the floor. Gary Payton added 13 points, and 12 assists.
