            Oklahoma   37   33-70
            #4 Duke   45   34-79

Blue Devils remain perfect in convincing win over Sooners

Is there any doubt who the early season candidate for Player of the Year is?

In the eyes of the Duke players and fans, absolutely not. The Player of the Year so far wears #4 for Duke.

J.J. Redick did struggle from beyond the arc against Oklahoma, but he hit two quick triples early in the second half, and Lee Melchionni added a 3rd that completed a 9-0 run to put permanent separation between Duke and OU at 54-41 after the Sooners had gotten it to 45-41. Duke opened as big a lead as 60-43 before coasting the rest of the way, beating the Sooners 79-70.

            Player of the Game

            J.J. Redick: 31 points, 3 steals

            Lee Melchionni: 17 points
Shelden Williams: 11 points, 11 rebounds
            Shavlik Randolph: 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, 2 blocks

Lawrence McKenzie: 13 points, 4 assists
Taj Gray: 12 poins, 6 rebounds
Drew Lavender: 6 points, 7 assists
Kevin Bookout: 6 points, 11 rebounds

            Next Game: Clemson (3-7) @ #2 Duke (8-0)

Redick red hot as Duke blows by Clemson

Once again....early season Player of the Year?

                    Not Rashad McCants.

                    Not B.J. Elder.

                    It's J.J. Redick of Duke.

The Junior Shooting Guard shot lights out in #2 Duke's ACC opener against Clemson, going 14-20 from the floor, including 6-10 from 3, and 11/11 from the line for a career high 45 points, as Duke raped helpless Clemson, 94-51.

Shelden Williams continued to dominate inside with another double double, and Sean Dockery continued his superb play at point.
