    1/23/05 GAME 14

    Conference Game

    (8-6) FLORIDA ATLANTIC OWLS (6-3) Ovr - 72, Off - 74, Def - 75

    25 - 31 - 56

    AT

    (3-10) LIPSCOMB BISONS (2-6) Ovr - 67, Off - 72, Def - 69

    40 - 43 - 83

    Blow-Out!

Nashville,TN -- After coming off a heartbreaking loss on Friday, the Bisons where happy to be home in the Allen Arena and they showed it from the tip off. The Bisons opened the game by going on a 21-10 run and forcing 10 Owl turnovers in the first 10 minutes of the game. They then continued to force turnovers by running a press defense and making the Owls pay for every mistake on route to taking a 40-25 halftime lead.

Lipscomb would not let up, as they usually do when they have a lead, at all in the second half as they forced another 10 Owl turnovers (32 total on the night). It was just a total domination for the Bisons, they shot 49% from the floor while holding FAU to 39%. They out rebounded the Owls 36 to 18 and did great from behind the 3 point line by going 10-22. Also for the first time this season Limpscomb had 6 players with double digits scoring.

Our boys showed how they CAN play when their hearts are in it, now they just need to build off this beautiful performance.

Lipscomb gets a chance to get another win when they host conference foe UCF on Tuesday 1/25/05.

Yep my coaching career is starting off with a whimper.

I am sure I can turn it around, heck if I can take my Owls to FBall respectability, I am sure I can do the same with some BBall teams here and get a job with a Nationally recognized team eventually.

Thanks for reading bro, it is great to see you over here.

P.S. as far as your 'Hogs .... I noticed that, Huggins had a HUGE "vent some frustration" game against SC.

                1/25/05 GAME 15

                Conference Game

                (6-7) CENTRAL FLORIDA KNIGHTS (5-5) Ovr - 73, Off - 75, Def - 76

                20 - 50 - 70

                AT

                (4-10) LIPSCOMB BISONS (3-6) Ovr - 67, Off - 73, Def - 69

                25 - 20 - 55

                COLLAPSE!

Nashville,TN -- Coming into last nights game against the Knights the Limpscomb players were feeling good. That feeling even lasted through the first half, ast the Bisons shot 48% in the half and out rebounded the Knights 18-12 to take a 5 pt lead into half 25-20.

However, the Bison players good feeling came to a screeching halt at the 10 minute point of the second half. After starting out the half in good form hitting 6 of their first 8 shots to increase their lead to 8pts, The Bisons then forgot to play. They went 6 for their next 18 shots, finishing the day at 39% shooting overall, and watched helplessly as the Kinights went on a 41-18 over the last 10 minutes of the game to win going away by 15pts 70-55.

Unfortunately these second half collapses have been the norm this season. "It is frustrating at times with these boys" Said Lipscomb head coach T.B. Lyns, "We will have games where they play inspired ball for a half, but then just fall asleep in the second".

Lipscomb continues their season as they travel to Boca Raton, FL to face conference foe Florida Atlantic this Saturday 1/29/05.

                    18 - 18 - 36

                    A Win is a Win

Boca Raton, FL -- In a game that looked as if neither team wanted to win the Lipscomb Bisons beat the FAU Owls for the second team this season. Last nights game was nothing any of the players, on either team, should be overly proud of. FAU only shot 26% on the night (14-53) while the Bisons shot a blistering 35% (16-46), definitely not the type of numbers you write home about.

The determining factor in the game was rebounding, as Limpscomb was able to grab 50 rebounds while only allowing the Owls 21. Those extra rebounds gave the Bisons the second chances close in to the basket that were the difference makers in the score.

Once again the Bison took a lead into the half, 25-18, they however did NOT fold in the second half this time. They actually came out and shot well, at least for this day, by hitting 4 of their first 9 shots in the second half to increase their lead to 11pts. Both teams then just sort of went into "cruise control" as they missed basket after basker, but finally the clock hit 0:00 and the Bisons left the court with their 5th win of the season.

"It wasn't the prettiest win ever. However with the way things have been going with this team lately, we will take any win we can get" Said Lipscomb head coach T.B. Lyns

The Bisons continue their conference schedule, and their Florida trip, as they travel to Orlando for their second match up of the season with the Central Florida Knights in 2 days on Monday 1/31/05.

The Bisons snatch Defeat from the jaws of Victory

Orlando, FL -- The Lipscomb Bisons walked a razor's edge all through the game against UCF last night. However they slipped down the stretch and ended up on the losing end of a 59-50 score.

The Bisons came out determined to begin the game, shooting 52% in the first half to take a 32-21 halftime lead.

It was in the second half where the Bison players did what they have done best this season, FOLDED. Still up by 8pts 48 to 40 with 8 minutes left in the game, the Bisons only hit 1 of their next 8 shots while the Knights hit 9 of their last 11 to seal the victory.

For the game, Lipscomb shot 30% (16-54) and UCF shot 31% (18-53) and the Bisons were also out rebounded 38-33. "My head hurts, my throat is raw and my stomach is churning. Also I think I fractured my left foot in several places from kicking the &*&* out of a chair during the final 10 minutes of the game." Said Lipscomb head coach T.B. Lyns, he went on to add "I could barely resist the urge to try and sub myself in near the end there. I'm told the NCAA would frown on that though."

The Bisons continue their conference schedule and begin the "home stratch" of the season when they host the Jacksonville Doplhins this Wednesday 2/3/05.

                                30 - 20 - 50

The Bisons continue to come up dry.

Nashville, TN -- The Lipscomb Bisons once again allowed themselves to be out hustled and outplayed, this time to the Jacksonville Dolphins.

Jacksonville dominated the baseline with thundering picks and box-outs to control the tempo of the game, and mow down the hapless Lipscomb players with frightening precision.

About the only bright point for the Bisons was (C) Shaun Durant who snagged 10 rebounds. Lipscomb shot 33% (19-57) while Jacksonville shot 41% (22-54) for the game.

"Tonight's performance was about as dark and dreary as it gets, we sure got our bells rung. All we can do now is go back to the drawing board and try again" Said Lipscomb head coach T.B. Lyns.

To add injury to insult, (JR PF) Cameron Robinson, who went to the floor grabbing his foot late in the game, is now reported as being day to day for the next 15 days as tests have shown he strained his achilles.

The Bisons now find themselves in 10th place in the Atlantic Sun conference with 7 conference games left to try and climb up to the #8 spot and get into the conference toruney. Next up for the Bisons is hosting the Stetson Hatters, who beat the Bisons 72-50 early last month, in 2 days Saturday 2/5/05.
