    We're #3!?! Bama(4), Florida State(7), Kansas(3), all lost. Glad I didn't go to Florida 4-3 ranked #19

That Was Intense October 29, 2009 - 10:40 am Posted by AllstarMe

UNC was dominating us through the first half. They were moving the ball up and down the field and luckily we were barely holding on. Our offense was doing nothing either, which just compounded the problem, then the half came.

We trailed 17-7 at the half, and as the third quarter started it looked like more of the same. Until our defense got together before coming out for our first series of the second half. We just decided we weren't going allow them to do what they had been doing.

Easier said then done, but we picked off Tyler Yates in our end zone, and that really got it started. After we missed a game tying field goal with about three minutes left they had the ball. It looked like they had just gotten a first down but Kam laid out there receiver and he fumbled. Kam picked it up, then Ty and the offense did the rest getting into the end zone.

Easily the most intense game I've been in here at Va Tech so far.

      11 Tackles
      1 Tackles for Loss
      1 Sack

I really got it going today, it started early just getting after the ball carrier, and I finally reached my goal of 6 sacks in the fourth quarter. It was a big play too, that really killed a pretty good drive they had going.

East Carolina next week. Finally a bit of a break.

Marching On November 6, 2009 - 2:02 pm Posted by AllstarMe

East Carolina led 7-0. Then we led 38-7. I think that's really all that has to be said about the game last night. We just overmatched them in the rain and really knocked them around on both sides of the ball.

I probably had my biggest hit of the year right around the end of the first half. They pitched out to their half back to just kill the clock. I shot in unblocked and tattooed him. They had to call a time out for the guy. He was ok, but damn That really set the tone for the second half.

            8 Tackles
            2 Tackles for Loss

We kept knocking them in the mouth and they just couldn't stand it. They scored their second touchdown against our backups, so our starting unit really shut them down.

I'll take 8 tackles, I'm closing in on 80 with three regular season games left, then hopefully the ACC title game, and the national championship. 23 tackles in 5 games to get to 100. I think I can handle it.

Now all I want to do is force a fumble or pick off a pass or something.

I hate the BCS November 15, 2009 - 2:02 pm Posted by AllstarMe

We were ranked #2 after our last game, and some how, without playing a game before we played Maryland we fell to number 4. That kind of stuff just...boggles the mind. We can't worry about that stuff Coach Beemer says, so while it bothers us we just tried to put it out of our heads for our game at Maryland.

We started off so slow, but Maryland wasn't doing much either. Our defense was up to the challenge. Maryland has been having a great year, having just two losses before we handed them one. It was great to play so close to home, I had a ton of friends and family in the stands. It almost felt like High School again.

Fourteen more tackles until I hit 100. 8 tackles a game to get it in the regular season, and we should have at least one more game after that, so I really think I can hit that number this year. Would be amazing.

Two Loss LSU and Two Loss Oklahoma jumped in front of us in the BCS. Penn State is the lone undefeated.

                        I love homecoming November 22, 2009 - 12:00 pm Posted by AllstarMe

Homecoming at Lane Stadium was intense. By now a lot of people know who I am because of playing on the football team. The whole week leading up to our homecoming game, which usually is the last home game of the season, was a non-stop party.

Girls were flashing us when we walked down the street, professors excused us from class, it was great. I wonder what it'll be like on campus after we win a national championship.

NC State came to town this weekend, a down year for them, but a chance for them to knock off a top 5 team. Everyone comes out real fired up against us. It seems we never really start to get going until the second half because of how amped up these other teams are.

Cut the magic number to 8. They ran a lot to the left and were looking down the field a lot. I got a couple of shots in on their quarterback, and I even got warned by one of the refs for almost getting to him a bit late. I figure if he's on the field, don't be afraid to take a hit now and then.

Next week is the big game for us though. Virginia. They aren't too good this year, but it's a huge game in the area. That place is going to be loud next weekend. I can't wait to go in there and shut them down.

We saved our best game of the year for our biggest rival. It felt great to just lay the lumber to Virginia in such a big game in our state. We dominated from start to finish, and they never really even threatened.

It was weird, because we actually got off to a fast start. We were up 21-0 at the end of the first and never really looked back. I got to the quarterback twice, both right as he was about to throw the ball. Both turned into picks. So despite having low numbers, I really played a great game last night.

                              1 Swat

Bah! Four tackles short of 100, I'm sure I'll get them in the ACC Title game, but if not I'd like to believe I can make 4 tackles in two games.

We will be in the ACC Championship game, so that's a plus. I doubt we'll get to play for the National Title, but you never know, we just need to do our part and let some other stuff fall into place.
