Week 1: #20 Arkansas at Stanford

The Cardinal rises to the Occassion in their 17-10 Upset of 20th-ranked Arkansas!

    On the Recruiting Trail:
    This Week's Important Recruiting Information...
High school senior Kicker A.J. McCray became the first commitment of the season for head coach Jim Harbaugh. McCray is rated as the 15th best kicker amongst his peers hailing from Claremont California. A.J. was the team's place kicker as well as field goal specialist for his entire four year stay at Claremont Preperatory Academy. A three sport athlete A.J. was also starting point guard on the varsity basketball team and starting striker on the varsity soccer team. McCray had offers from other Pac-10 rivals in UCLA, Cal and USC for his kicking services but A.J. was quoted saying, "when Coach Harbaugh showed up at my house the first time and met with my family and myself I was totally blown away by his presense and his plan for the Cardinal. I knew right then I wanted to be coming to Stanford and I'm glad we could get it done so early in the process that I can relax and play football without that stress anymore." McCray was using an unofficial visit to Stanford where he commited shortly before the team's home opener got started against Arkansas.

"A.J. is a very talented kicker but is also a very well rounded young man, the staff and I are looking forward to what he'll be bringing to our team and the University." said Coach Harbaugh when asked about his first commitment moments after his Cardinal's upset visiting Arkansas.

                        This Week's Important Recruiting Info...

.....For a second weekend in a row Cameron Jones moves Stanford up one position this time to his favorite school, Kevin Bush did the same moving Stanford up one now to his second favorite school, Kenny Thomas has raised Stanford back up to his second favorite school, Michael Franklin moved Stanford to his 5th favorite school, Richard McClain wide receiver from Torrance California moved Stanford up two spots to his second favorite school. We have a slew of visits this weekend against Notre Dame: 3-star WR Chad Simon, 3-star CB Mike Anderson, 3-star G Roderick Quinn, 3-star SS Reggie Pace and 3-star WR Billy Goat. 6 recruits will be on campus week eight when Stanford hosts Utah in what surely will be a highly anticipated, much on the line game in Cali. 3-star FS Jeremy Fogle has been dropped from the recruiting board as he had Stanford as his 6th favorite and he narrowed his list down to 5 so the Cardinal’s were out.

Thanks. It was tight all game and I really expected Mallet to light me up but I was able to salvage a victory, pretty exciting stuff.
