Forgetting "The Fumble" Purdue Boilermakers Dynasty
Since Purdue's almost magical season in 2004 the football program has been real hit and miss.
2004: 7-5 (4-4) Lost Sun Bowl 27-23
2005: 5-6 (3-5)
2006: 8-6 (5-3) Lost Champs Sports Bowl 24-7
2007: 8-5 (3-5) Won Motor City Bowl 51-48
2008: 4-8 (2-6)
2009: 5-7 (4-4)
2010: ?????
New head coach Chris Lydigsen is being brought in after that horrible 2009 finish and try and get Purdue to a BCS game. Purdue has a very talented team this season and will have its best chance at winning the Big Ten and getting into a BCS game. They don't have as tough of a conference schedule as they have in the past couple of years.
Week 1: @ Notre Dame (Battle for the Shillelagh Trophy)
Week 2: vs Western Illinois
Week 3: vs Ball State
Week 4: vs Toledo
Week 5: BYE
Week 6: @ Northwestern
Week 7: vs Minnesota
Week 8: @ #2 Ohio State
Week 9: @Illinois(Battle for the Purdue Cannon)
Week 10: vs #11 Wisconsin
Week 11: vs Michigan
Week 12: @ Michigan State
Week 13: vs Indiana(Battle for the Old Oaken Bucket)
Week 14: BYE
Week 15: BYE
For those of you that don't know what "The Fumble" is here is a video of it. I imagine all the Wisconsin fans will remember it. That was a very tough day to be a Purdue fan. National championship hopes dashed, Orton's Heisman chances diminished, and they would lose next 3 games.
