thanks for the compliments Sliders are tricky because you don't want to keep tweaking sliders until you're struggling, that's not realistic at all, I play the games and don't go by wins or losses but rather gamefeel and how the game plays out.

Although truth be told I feel *very* lucky to have stumbled on to a new blueprint on a dominating D, specifically.. double-island-shutdown corners. I am ahead of schedule, year 2 and already have a dominating defense.. if I was to be totally honest, I don't think this team is capable of winning it all yet specially now that DJ is gone but we'll see.. this is a journey after all

I am sorta waiting for Bill Harris' sliders since he likes to sim/stat junky/etc and usually have coach mode sliders that're good but the ones I've been testing for the past 2 games have been pretty good too, "Elway's coach mode" from OS' slider forums

Ahhh! The season is winding down, the snow is falling, the playoffs on the horizon! THIS IS FOOTBALL!!! ... at least, that's what I wanted to say. Reality was my team acted like they wanted to be back in bed under a comforter than be out playing football in the snow. My defense bailed out the entire team once again and for that I am always thankful. I know now for a fact they will not go away and they will bring it every game every down. Bingo Johnson and Champ Bailey will simply lock the other team down and will not be beat thru the air on their coverages.

Cris Collinsworth had the commentary of the game: "The Broncos linemen just cannot get off the ball. They look tired out there and are being manhandled." That pretty much sums it up.. what else can I say about 15 yds on 29 rushes. That's right.. 29 attempts.. and 15 yds.. I mean I know it's snowing but still.. that is beyond ridiculous.

To top it all that wasn't the worst thing that happened.. Tim Tebow threw 2 pick 6's. That's right, he was intercepted twice and both were returned for touchdowns. Again.. if my defense did not hold the Pack out of the endzone, this would've been another loss.

I know it sounds like we lost this game even though we won.. it doesn't feel like it. This is not the way to head into the playoffs.. we should be gaining momentum instead it feels like we're struggling to get anything going and just grinding things out constantly.

Final game of the regular season and I'm playing everybody. I want them as sharp as possible headed into the playoffs and they need something positive because lately they've been struggling far too much for a team with their record.

like the commercial says, "if you rule the air, you rule the game" albeit, they never imagined it was on the defensive side

it's year 2, i'm sharing the best record in the nfl, i "Stumbled" on a new way to dominate the game defensively.. like I said in my pre-draft evaluation, it will take several drafts for me to properly adress all the holes Denver had but I already have some promising young rookies.. and I found perhaps the single greatest WR in the entire game in Damyrius Thomas who possibly *no one* knows about.. (I'll be honest here, I had no idea who he was)

all in all.. I'd give this experiment an A-

I'm definitely going to be in the dance, the team is setup to contend for years but my gut feeling is this isn't a superbowl team yet.. the problem is Tebow.. once the playoffs hit all these stalled drives just won't cut it, he needs to get them in the endzone and he's struggling on that for the latter-part of the year.

We'll see.. I'll say this.. this franchise ends if in fact the Broncos win it all but I highly doubt we'd do that this year.. as the coach there's just too many things to worry about that I see out there

..but then again that's probably a real coaches' problem, they worry a lot

            haha

I've been following this, and I do agree about maybe implementing some more difficult sliders, but at the same time if you look at the schedule, it makes sense that tom is doing so well with this team.

I think I counted about 12 teams that were at or below .500 and only 4 teams that had a winning record, which were the Dolphins at 2-1, the Patriots at 6-0, the Vikings at 0-0 (not necessarily a winning record but they did go on to be one of the better teams in the league this season), and the Lions at 4-3. Plus he's come across some timely injuries like Rodgers being hurt for Green Bay and Merriman being hurt for San Diego.

Anyways, good stuff here tom. Looking forward to seeing what Tebow can do in the playoffs. I'll be honest though, I hope it takes at least one more season for you to win the Super Bowl, lol.

I've been fortunate in like you said, not having faced too many winning teams and to add to it came upon some timely injuries
(wk4) Bears - didn't have Jay Cutler when I faced them
                (wk6) Chiefs - didn't have Matt Cassel
(wk7) Chargers - Shawn Merriman was out
(wk16) Packers - Aaron Rodgers was out

I've play-tested to help out some cm sliders the past 7 games or so? MikeOwns and Elway's cm sliders from the os slider forum and hell i've had worse blowouts using those sliders than the modified default all-pro i was playing on! -.-

I'm currently play-testing "Playmakers" sliders combined with a MY SKILL setting should have interesting results.. unfortunately I have to log at least 3 exhibition coach mode games before i get a My Skill setting worth taking into a franchise

I just hope Bill Harris releases his coach mode sliders soon haha

....and to be honest with you, I highly doubt we win it all.. but should the offchance this becomes a magical run.. I've already started to think about what my next franchise would be, haha

Last game of the regular season, sharing the best record in the NFL, do I rest my guys heading into the snowy hostile grounds of the Buffalo Bills?! OH HELL NO!! I wanted my team to be sharp, I wanted them out on the snow once again playing the game they love! In the elements!! AND ENJOYING IT! Instead of last weeks' horrible showing in the snow against the Pack!

This game had its fair share of storylines, if you remember.. back in week 4, the Broncos traded away QB Kyle Orton to these same Buffalo Bills. Have no doubts that he would love nothing more than a win right here against Tim Tebow, the man who usurped his starter role and ultimately led to the Broncos trading Orton away.

The game was tight, it was snowing, the defenses once again ruled.. the 3rd qtr ended with rookie RB Diamond fumbling the ball which was recovered by the Bills and ran back to the endzone tying the game up. That was followed by a Buffalo drive that ended in a FG taking the lead 13-10 with just 8 minutes left in the game.

This is when something must've clicked or snapped on the Broncos and they picked themselves up off the floor and struck back to the tune of 21 unanswered points! 3 touchdowns! Sparked by Tebow-to-Damyrius, Rookie Diamond redeemed himself with a good 54yd touchdown run and Moreno sealed the deal when Buffalo failed to convert their 4th down attempt on their side of the field.

I like my teams' chances entering the post-season, I have to remain true to my coaching identity and establish the run and not have to rely on Tim and lean on the defense!

BRING ON THE PLAYOFFS!! YEAH BABY

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
                              gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

I urge my team is to face this challenge.. we are good! WE ARE GOOD! I keep telling them that, YOU ARE POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE!!

Even though the Colts have been riddled with injuries..

.this is it! THE PLAYOFFS! There are no easy teams left, and as someone pointed out, my Broncos haven't exactly been battle tested against the best of teams.. and here comes the Colts.. Peyton, Reggie, Addai, Freeney, Clark.. perennial contenders, a great great team and a worthy test.

Wow that's a really interesting matchup.

Your great pass defense against the Colts pass-heavy offense..... A perennial contender against an up and coming team..... Manning vs Tebow; passing of the torch?

Looking forward to it. My guess is the Colts pull out a close one.
