Looking forward to it. My guess is the Colts pull out a close one.
My jaw just about dropped when that screen came up and I saw the Colts.. they don't have Bob Sanders, they're full loaded with injuries but they still have their offense.. that damned offense!

Not gon lie, I am worried but I always am going into games.. I've just never dreamt of building a defense that is dominating the way this defense of mine has been.. the strength of my defense is controlling the air..

CB Bingo Johnson, CB Champ Bailey, FS Brian Dawkins just lock it down and it frees up my all-world LB Elvis Dumervil to be a playmaker up front.. but hell

like you said, this is going to be some matchup.. I guess now I'll know for sure if we are contenders or pretenders.. great pass-heavy offense vs my "double-island trouble" D

one thing's for sure.. my gameplan is already done..
    1. establish the run
    2. shorten the game by controlling the clock
    3. have Tebow manage the game
    4. blitz Peyton constantly, i'm talking every play have at least 1 guy coming at him..
    5. if they get into 3rd and long, no blitz go for a coverage sack or something

Wish I would've seen this earlier. First thing anyone should do when taking the Broncos is convert Jarvis Moss to DE. You'll get an instant 80 overall end who can really play. Interesting to read. I'm in my 4th year with the Broncos, and I just turned my offense over to Tebow, who is now an 84 overall.

      Fun read, I'll be following!

I did that, someone alerted me early about Elvis Dumervil tried it out, sure enough his ovr jumped from 91 to 99 but I lost so much speed and playmaking ability on the D-side I changed him back to LB..

there was a LB i switched to DE, R. Ayers, 78lb became an 85de

...much like Elvis, it's not really the OVR that matters as much as how the team chemistry is affected.. for instance, I am *beyond shocked* at how good some of these WR's of the Broncos are..
the 3rd string WR Decker is a monster wideout in traffic and yac, Damyrius Thomas is my favorite WR in the entire league now, haha

but yea, thanks for the tip, I did move a LB to DE, R. Ayers

edit: Err, one thing to note, R. Ayers is BACK to his LB spot.. I had to patch-fix my team because I lost DJ Williams heading into the playoffs I got scrub DE's playing and I could very well change Moss to DE right now like you said but.. that almost feels like cheating, haha I'll just stick with what I got right now, no matter what happens

BEND BUT DON'T BREAK. Take it back to week 1 of this season and my yet-untested young defense was up against Adrian Peterson and the Vikings.. I said it then I'll repeat it now. We bend but we do not break! Peyton tore us up thru the air gaining yards on a crazy pace, but whenever they got past midfield, my defense would shut it down. Nothing is more frustrating than being able to move the ball at will only to have the drive stall with the endzone in sight.

Check the statistics out, look at how the game unfolded, Peyton threw for nearly 400 yards but my defense specializes in neutralizing the big play. They ate up a ton of yardage but every single time my defense kept them out of even FG range and they had to punt.

Beyond that, turnovers tell the story of this game. Peyton was picked twice and Addai coughed up the rock twice more.

I am so proud of my team right now, they stuck to their gameplan, they didn't get rattled whenever Peyton would complete a crazy 3rd-and-long pass and Tebow played within himself only throwing 1 INT.

This was a great game, and if you look at the boxscore, one would wonder how we won when we were outgained so much. Simple.. we controlled the flow of the game and the colts turned the ball over 4 times.

That's the game folks. Can't win if you turn it over.

              CONFERENCE PLAYOFF MATCHUPS - Year 2 - 2011 Season

              49ers (10-6) vs Vikings (14-2)

              Patriots (13-3) vs Broncos (14-2)

              UP NEXT:

Not gonna lie.. I am a bit worried facing the Patriots again. I know exactly how they gashed me the first time we faced them.. that being said, I will do something I have never done all year long. I will assign Defensive Assignments!

CB Champ Bailey will cover WR Randy Moss
CB Bingo Johnson will be on WR Wes Welker (who did the most damage on our past meeting)

What kind of coach would I be if I did not adjust having been beaten previously by the Patriots. If we lose here, now, in the conference championship.. then we will lose because they outplayed us. Not because I did not prepare my team properly.

LETS GO! This is for the AFC Championship baby!

This is why you need luck in order to make a season truly special.. The Vikings who shared the NFL's best record, lost their starting QB during last week's divisional playoff game. The 49ers took full advantage and made their way back to the Superbowl!

......it's quite fitting really, a team of promise of 1st rounders (the 49ers) finally realizing their potential and making it back to the superbowl but I wonder how they would've done had the Vikings not lost their QB.

Entering this game, with the Patriots having beaten us before, I as a coach did something I have never done all season long. I assigned Defensive Assignments. I gave my best players the assignment of defending those who hurt me most the last time we faced each other.

WR Randy Moss was to be covered by CB Champ Bailey
WR Wes Welker was to be shadowed by CB Bingo Johnson

Had I lost this game, we would've lost because we were outplayed and not because I failed as a coach to make adjustments.

Welcome the snow, welcome the League MVP in Tom Brady, welcome their enigmatic head coach, welcome that defense, bring it all on! THIS IS MILE HIGH! THIS IS OUR HOUSE!!!

That being said, we won this game in convincing fashion because my team played up to my ideals! A dominating suffocating defense that specializes in neutralizing big plays and a ground game to punish their defense.

Tim Tebow was a non-factor and Tom Brady simply could not do it by himself. "The Swarm" aka the Denver defense scored 2 touchdowns by themselves and Knowshon simply played like the beast he is rushing, catching and powering the Broncos to the Superbowl! That's right folks, the BRONCOS ARE GOING BACK TO THE BOWL!

CONFERENCE PLAYOFF RECAP and SUPERBOWL PREVIEW

This has been quite a journey.. from a 5-11 season last year, to the offseason re-structuring, to me coming in and stamping this team in my image thru the draft, thru players, thru coaching.. to sharing the best record in the NFL.. to blindly stumbling into a new way of dominating the defensive side of the ball.. this has been quite a journey.

Will the Tim Tebow experiment end? Will the Broncos step up and take the Lombardi trophy??

...we shall see but truthfully.. this has been one hell of a ride and to anyone whose been following and will follow/read up in the future to see the way this season has gone

Thank you for being a part of this journey

                      UP NEXT:

OOC: if the Broncos do win it all, and I do expect them too at this point it's the 49ers and not the Vikings.. but should "the tim tebow experiment" end.. I will take up another franchise

Good luck, and either way I hope you do another franchise. I don't normally read this stuff but yours has been fun to follow!

thank you i admit, i am ahead of schedule.. but like I said I "stumbled" on to this defensive blueprint by accident, I did not even imagine of making a defense that is built on negating the other teams' big play capacity..

but it makes sense.. my best players on defense are
CB - CB - FS .. I have the middle covered with my all-world LB Elvis Dumervil

and I beefed up my line by having 2 killer DT's..

so yea, it has been a magical season and the team has played beyond my expectations and I am a little saddened by my belief that we will win the Superbowl..

but, I already have a franchise in mind Oakland maybe, Cleveland perhaps.. we'll see, I have to see how this plays out in case the 49ers have 1 more upset left in them

Congrats on making the Super Bowl.

I say if you do happen to win it all, you should continue this franchise. I'm still interested to see the progression of Tebow and if he can become a truly elite QB . It would also be interesting to see if you could repeat as SB champs.

It's too bad you've already made it to the big game though. This franchise has been great but it would've been just a little more satisfying with some more bumps in the road along the way.

Good luck against the Niners. Looking forward to the next update.

from that very first snap until the final whistle
                              is something to celebrate

to the losing team .. it's heartbreaking

sorry guys, my franchise froze when i exited the game, so no boxscores or anything

Game Reflection: I can see why the 49ers made such a run in the playoffs.. they have a defense built on speed much like mine was and Gore's a monster. Alex Smith feasted on Crabtree and Davis but he never faced a defense like mine.
I was up 16-6 at halftime but the 49ers ground game got going in the 3rd qtr and gassed my D leading to a touchdown score cutting the lead to 16-13. At that point I was worried that I'll be too tired to stop their drives and promptly went 3-n-out giving the ball back to them. Thankfully, they fumbled near midfield and I got the ball back. This time, I pounded the rock and Knowshon Moreno and my rookie runner Diamond fueled a long sustained drive that wore them down. It was so long and such a grind that it both Knowshon and Diamond needed a breather.. the man who secured the game's final touchdown? ..my 3rd string RB Corel Buckhalter.

It was a great game and the 49ers showed it was no fluke getting to the superbowl.

that's it folks "The Tim Tebow Experiment" is done..
A suffocating defense that specialized in negating big plays..
A powerful running game powered by a great RB in Knowshon..
Safety nets in FB P. Hillis and my rookie TE B. Buck..

I wanted to find out if I was capable of building and coaching a team led by Tim to become superbowl champions.. it took 2 years it was fun, it was definitely a fun ride since I never dreamt this would be the outcome this season

Thank you for reading and being a part of the journey
