Also you should do another with Madden 12 and do the 2nd season quickly. I want this to last because a lot of bills franchises die out of nowhere.

Analyst PicksANALYST PICK BREAKDOWN Dan Marino: It's hard to vote against the defending champs, although this is a divisional rivalry game; anything can happen. Still I think the Jets pull it out. Boomer Esiason: Yeah I'm with you, Dan. The Jets looked like they haven't missed a beat in week 1 while the Bills seemed a little rust. The Bills offense is going to have to show up today to have a chance. Bill Cowher: I hate to pick against Lebeau and the Bills, but it just seems like the Jets are firing on all cylinders out of the gate this season. I'm hoping for an upset but without Posluszny that Buffalo defense isn't the same. Shannon Sharpe: You saw what Cedric Benson did to that Buffalo defense last week, Shonn Greene is going to surpass that. Jets take this one easily. James Brown: Looks like we've got a unanimous pick this week. The Bills rushed only 22 yards against New England and the struggles should continue against the Jets. Comment

Just stopping by to say great job, glad to see that you are still keeping up with this dynasty. I remember last year following when I was still running mine, good to see you kept yours going.

Haha thanks man, that's some high praise.
Sorry for the lack of updates lately, been busy, but I've got I think thru week 5 played and have had half the Jets game recap already typed up for like 2 weeks. Should get some updates posted in the near future.
I'll likely continue this periodically while working on a M12 franchise as well, hoping to get at least 2 more seasons in to see if I can reach the promised land. Thanks to everyone still following!

I'll join in with the many others here, but very well done franchise. The style is great, but the storytelling is even better, just fantastic. Never thought I'd be rooting for the Bills (joking...kind of). Helping inspire me to try one again with Madden 12.

Wow
I just read through this whole thing tonight...and I'm SO glad that I did!
Outstanding presentation and creativity! Not to mention your storylines were always very interesting, and never seemed corny or anything to me.
Something that I really thought that you did a great job of doing (and I don't know if you meant to do this, but you probably did) was that you seemed to give each of the analysts their own type of personality! Cowher always pulled for your defense during your first year, and kept on giving you guys a chance whereas Sharpe kept on knocking you guys until you finally proved yourselves late in your first season. Marino also was pulling for you guys for the most part. Great job!
This was the best two hours I've had on this site in a while! Glad to see someone was enjoying this game!

Re: Unfinished Business: Buffalo Bills Story (Madden 11 Franchise)
It's funny, because after getting so immersed in this franchise, I also found myself on the verge of wanting to see the Bills win as well as keeping very interested in their draft picks and other moves. Glad you've enjoyed the franchise, if you do one for Madden 12 let me know and I'll check it out (I might miss it as I only look on the main forum page every so often due to how many NCAA threads there tend to be)
Thanks man! Definitely going to do one for M12, also contemplating getting a capture card so I don't have to keep uploading phone pics.
I was shocked we made it to the playoffs but everything just kept working in our favor. Glad I could get you to almost-root for us though haha
Thanks a lot man, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah giving the analysts their own personality was definitely something I was aiming for, to avoid it just sounding like "bichettehappens predicts the outcome of his own game 5 times" lol. I'm happy you liked the storylines, coming up with those were my favorite part and really helped me to get very immersed in an otherwise shallow game mode.
Thanks! I've been a little preoccupied in recent weeks, and will be starting a Madden 12 one soon, but periodically I'm going to keep updating this. I've already got the first 4 or 5 games of this season played, I just need to find the time to work on the posts. I definitely need to find out if Erik Patterson is the real deal though before I put this franchise to rest

Re: Unfinished Business: Buffalo Bills Story (Madden 11 Franchise)
Speaking of Madden 12, I'm torn about what team to use for my franchise story. Since I intend to post it much like I did with this one, I'd like for it to be something the people following would most like to read. I've narrowed it down to 6 teams that I feel I would enjoy controlling and would like your opinions
1.) Bengals - Obviously these team is in a sad state right now. I'd take over as a new GM looking to move the team in the right direction, with a large focus on changing the image as the team currently has a reputation of being full of "bad apples" so-to-speak. It'd be a new look team built around character guys for the most part.
2.) Cowboys - Dallas is my favorite team, but I haven't done a franchise with them for several years now as they've simply been "too good" for it to be a rebuilding challenge. If chosen, the storyline would be that we either win this year or Jerry finally seeks the assistance of an actual GM.... or... he goes further into the deep end. Time will tell...
3.) Lions - So much young talent on this team, and yet still so many question marks (mainly about depth, health, and consistency). I feel like this may be a popular team for franchises this season, but I also think they may be the most fun to play with (other than my Cowboys) from day 1, but would still provide a bit of a challenge to become true contenders.
4.) Redskins - As a Cowboys fan, I love seeing Dan Snyder screw this team up year after year, and now watching Shannahan bet his reputation on unproven starters at QB and RB has been entertaining as well. Lots of question marks on this team, and could be fun to have to compete with Dallas (and the rest of the pesky NFC East) in order to build a contender.
5.) Cardinals - I'm an Arizona resident, so I hear from the fans how disappointed they've become year after year (excluding their Cinderella season). I've never been much of a fan but I like Fitzgerald and Peterson as cornerstone players to build around. I'd likely say enough of Whisenhunt, let's try something new.
6.) Seahawks - I just hate their entire offense. Would be a challenge to rebuild and I don't think I've ever even played a game while controlling the Seahawks so it would be a new experience all-around.
So what would people most likely to see?

I'd be curious to see the rebuilding of a team like the Bengals, though in some respect, the Cowboys are at the very least a team that's transitioning, and they could be a year or so from complete rebuild if things don't go according to plan. As a Rams fan, I'm not sure if I can ethically support improving Seahawks, and to a lesser extent Arizona, but they'd probably both be good rebuilds as well. But the Bengals would have a tougher division to play in.

If you're looking for a team that needs a few tweaks to make it to the playoffs, it's got to be the Dallas Cowboys. If you're looking for an interesting challenge, the Seahawks and Cardinals are in a week division with most seasons being up for grabs, and the Lions are in a position to really make a run for it in a few years. For me (and this is my personal opinion), I would stay away from the Bengals as I feel that the AFC North is too tough, and the Redskins because they could be a beating for a while.
