          TEAM REPORT

          TUELL TO START AT QB
SR Jeff Tuell will start against Oregon State after missing the 2nd and 3rd Quarter of Stanford's win with back spasms.

Tuell is 84/148 for 1481 yds 12 TD and just 3 INT, well avg 370 yds a game.

FR James Roland will continue to play a few snaps a game out of the pistol formation. Roland is 5/9 for 62 yds and has thrown 2 INT's

          RUNNING BACK BY COMMITTEE??
With starting RB C. Winston on the sidelines for the season, and transfer D. Williams sitting out a year, the Cougars have struggle to establish a running attack.

FR R. Mayfield has taken the bulk of the carries rushing 68 times for 196 yds (2.8 Avg) and 4 TD's, well FR P. Smith has 24 carries for 25 yds (1.0 avg )

Coach Dodge is going to look at getting FB J. Byers and converted TE A. Dunn in on the action as well as using his QB's feet as well.

BARTON LOOKS AT BREAKING MORE RECORDS
After establishing a NCAA record and school record with 437 yds against UCLA as well as tying his school record for TD's in a game with 5, SR Isiah Barton now has 72 Rec for 1265 yds and 11 TD's on the year and 139 rec 2461 yds 21 TD's in his career.

With 5 games left he has the potential to break the School Career records for TD's (32) TD's in a Season (13) Recieving yards in a Career (2704), Recieving yards in a Season (1454 set by J. Kartsetter last year), and Receptions in a Season (92 by J. Kartsetter last year).

Besides the TD's in a game, Barton already has the Receptions in a game record (16). If he can continue to post double digit's in receptions he might be able to break the career record of (195) set back in 2004-2007 by Michael Bumpus.

          DEFENSE MUST CREATE TURNOVERS

The Cougar "D" has played great at times, but have still yet to create the type of turnovers that Coach Dodge is looking for. With only 1 INT on the year, 5 fumbles and 10 sacks, the Cougars rank among the worst in the nation.

can you tell me what his rushing stats are? I noticed he rarely ever ran it. Like last season in my dynasty I saw in a game he was 14 carries for like 26 yards. But this season (after I edited Michigan's team sliders) i saw in a game he had like the same amount of carries for around 200 yards rushing.

On the season, he has 109 carries for 316 yds and 7 TD.

Michael Cox the RB has 330 carries for 1424 yds and 19 TD's.

He has 3224 yds passing though with 19 TD's and only 6 INT.

If I ever go back and start a new dynasty I would probably try and find sliders I could download for him,Martinez, and the other running QB's.

I am 3 games behind in posting so I am just going to give brief recaps of each game so I am get through the season faster.

                    (4-3) VS (3-5)

                    GAME PREVIEW/RECAP/INTERVIEW

Next to Washington, the Beavers are WSU's biggest Pac-10 rival. This game would be WSU last home game of the year as they finish their last 4 games on the road.

OSU would start the game taking a 14-0 lead, but back to back turnovers (Simmons INT and Kaufusi Fumble recovry) allow WSU to tie the game 14-14 with less then a minute to play in the half. However OSU woudl hit a 33 yd FG with 1 second to play to take the 17-14 lead into the half.

WSU would score on a Tuell to Barton TD pass in the 3rd Quarter to take the lead. OSU would battle back and retake the lead with 2:48 to play, but 34 seconds later it was Tuell to Ratliff for the 34 yd TD pass to put WSU up 35-31. OSU would go to the air needing a Touchdown with 2 minutes to play but on a 3rd and 6, CB N. Washington picked off the pass and took it 34 yds for the "Pick 6" sealing the victory

                    FINAL SCORE WSU-42 OSU-31

                    KEY PLAYERS

                    QB J. Tuell-21/34 335 yds 5 TD 1 INT
                    RB R. Mayfield-9 carries 33 yds
                    WR I. Barton- 12 rec 171 yds 2 TD
                    Defense-2 INT, 1 Fumble, 5 sacks

                    QB R Katz-24/37 292 yds 1 TD 2 INT
                    RB J. Stevenson-27 carries 140 yds 2 TD
                    WR J. Bishop-5 rec 78 yds TD

Coach Dodge "I am happy with how we played. I was great to finally create some turnovers. We still suck against the run, but thought Overall the team is going in the right direction."

                    (5-3) @ (3-6)

                    GAME PREVIEW/RECAP/INTERVIEW

The Bears enter the game having lost 4 straight, since upsetting Oregon on the road for their only Pac-10 win, Well the Cougars are on a roll having won 4 of their past 5 games.

For the 2nd game in a row, WSU has a "Pick 6" as SS J. Mathews goes 21 yds for the INT return. Cal answers back scoring back to back TD's but the Cougars add another TD on the ground with R. Mayfield and a 24 yd FG to take the 17-14 lead into the half.

WSU would dominate the 3rd Quarter as Tuell throws 2 TD's (Ratliff and Simone) then it was CB N. Washington stepping up huge to start the 4th Quarter going 55 yds on a Punt return (my 1st ever) to give WSU the 38-14 lead. Cal however wasn't ready to give up so quickly and as K. Allen catches 2 TD's (17 yds and 6 yds) to make it 38-28 with 4 miutes to play. The WSU "D" would finally get a stop and force Cal to go for a 38 yd FG to make it 38-31 with less then a minute to play. Down by a Touchdown, Cal would go for the onside kick but WSU would recover and run out the clock.

                    KEY PLAYERS

                    QB J. Tuell-14/38 204 yds 2 TD 2 INT
                    WSU RB's-15 carries 32 yds
                    WR I. Barton-6 rec 105 yds
WSU Defense total of 3 Turnovers (2 INT and a Fumble)

                    QB A. Bridgford-41/51 325 yds 3 TD 2 INT
                    WR K. Allen 14 rec 122 yds 2 TD

Coach Dodge "Wow back to back games with turnovers. This is the kind of Defense I have been dreaming off. With 6 wins we are now Bowl Elgible for the 2nd straight year but have a tough road ahead with Oregon and Washington still on the schedule before finishing the year @ Idaho.

I'd say you're donig a pretty good job turning this program around. Won't be long until WSU is a top team in the Pac-10/country.

(Now BYU gets to see what it's like playing in the WAC and getting no respect, USF has beaten Missouri and Tulsa both Top-25 teams, but fell to Maryland early in the season. They have Oklahoma State left in a non-conference matchup. A win there and they will be playing in a BCS Bowl game)

WSU Recruiting Recap-" So far Coach Dodge has done a excellent job of adding some very talented players on both sides of the ball and he still has plenty of time to give out the other 9 scholarships available. Rumors are Coach Dodge is holding on to 4 or 5 hoping to land some more talented transfers like last season"

Coach Dodge Comments "I really like this class so far. I feel like I have increased our Overall talent and hopefully with another Bowl appearence we can increase our program to a 3* caliber allowing us the opportunity to start signing 4* and maybe even 5* type players" Until then we will focus on building the program similar to what they did at Boise State, with players who are not always highly sought after."

                              Maybe the SEC championship..

I will have to look and see. I think Wisconsin still has a tough game as well though.

                                GAME PREVIEW

It has been a crazy year for the Ducks. They started the season ranked #8 in the PreSeason Poll and climbed as high as #3, but with back to back loss's in Week 5 and 6, the Ducks flight took a huge nose dive.

The Cougars have quitely gone on to have one of their best seasons and with the win over Cal became Bowl eligible for the 2nd time in 8 seasons. A win today would tie their best record in the past 10 years.

                                GAME RECAP

Injuries, Missed scoring attempts and big plays highlighted this game.

FR R. Parrish failed to connect on 3 Field goals for WSU in the 1st half, but the Cougars were still able to take a 17-13 lead into the half on a 89 yd TD pass from Tuell to Barton. Barton would finish the half with 4 rec 100 yds and a TD.

In the 2nd half WSU would get a scare as I. Barton was forced to leave the game after a 17 yd catch over the middle that saw him sandwiched between 2 defenders. Barton was carted off the field and taken to the locker room never to return to action. FR T. McCoy would take his place and play well, but 3 INT by J. Tuell would spell doom for the Cougs. Oregon would score 24 unanswered points to take a 38-24 lead with less the 4 minutes to play.

With Tuell on the sideline RS SO C. Halliday looked to lead the Cougars in the 2 minute drill but instead the drive would stall at the 2yd line as the Duck "D" stopped them on 4th an 2. The next play would be the dagger to the heart as RB A. Lawerence broke through the line to go 98 yds for the victory sealing TD. Halliday would hook up with FR T. McCoy on a 64 yd TD pass with 1:25 to play but the failed Onside kick left the Cougars going home without the win.

POST GAME COMMENTS BY COACH DODGE

"Going into this game I knew it would be a battle. Oregon is a very good team. I thought our Defense play well for 3 Quarters and until that 98 yd run, we had held them under a 100 yds. Bennett made some big plays when it counted.

I know most of you want to know what happened with Tuell, well easy answer is he just ran out of gas. When a guy drops back and throws 40+ times a game and gets hit as often as he does, he needed a break. He is still our starter going up against Washington next week. Also I. Barton will be back, he had a mild concussion, but doctors have said he should be fine and I know he wants to play. I felt like FR P. Smith did a excellent job running the ball today, but when we fell behind we sorta had to abanndon the run. I hope we can get him more involved next week and keep the game close"
