If you press the square button right before he hits the endzone they'll usually do a awesome dive or sort of a half flip over the goal line. Thanks for the props man.

MISSCUES KILL DRAMA FILLED 'SKINS COMEBACK ON MNF

“All we can do now is keep our heads up & get ready for Philly”. That’s what Redskins QB Cam Newton said after he had a disappointing debut on Monday Night Football. The Redskins were smacked around for the first 3 quarters by the Cardinals, being behind by as much as three touchdowns. Then in the 4th a spark lit under them & they proceeded to score at will & were soon behind by one touchdown. But plenty of mistakes on both sides of the ball were more than enough to seal their fate as the ‘Skins fall to Arizona 41-34.

It all started in the Cardinals first play of their first drive of the game, where running back Beanie Wells busted open a 73 yard run for a touchdown. In the Redskins next possession things started to turn for the worst first with running back Jerious Norwood suffering a shoulder injury that took him out of the game. A London Fletcher pick gave the ’Skins their first score but they were soon overwhelmed with fumbles & a ramped up Cardinal offense.

With the team down 35-14 coming into the 4th, the ’Skins defense began to lockdown on the Cardinals running game. The Cards kicked two field goals to try & keep their distance, but the spark for Washington came from Ryan Broyles 87 yard kick return for a TD. Then two quick Cam Newton TD passes & a two point conversion run in by Newton put the ’Skins down by a touchdown. After forcing the Cards to punt & having spent all their timeouts, the ’Skins began their final drive inside the two minute warning. Newton hit some quick passes to Cooley & Broyles & ran for a 13 yard first down out of bounds that put them in Cardinals territory. However, drops from Thomas & Broyles & an overthrown ball to Thomas sealed the ’Skins fate.

Things won’t be easier for the ’Skins. Next week is one of the most anticipated match ups of the year. Redskins vs. Eagles. Cam Newton vs. Andrew Luck. With the Eagles now on a hot streak, this could prove to be a pivotal game.

                2011 Season Week 7

CARRIKER HELPS BEAT THE "LUCK" OUT OF THE EAGLES

Coming in it was arguably the most highly anticipated match-up between two rookie quarterbacks in NFL history. It ended up being a Redskins offensive showcase as the Eagles resorted to 6 field goals in the 37-18 loss. Eagles rookie QB Andrew Luck was held to zero touchdowns & 2 interceptions. As well as being sacked 6 times, with 4 of them coming from ’Skins defensive end Adam Carriker. Cam Newton on the other hand helped make his case for being front-runner for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Like so many of the Redskins victories this year the first half was all ’Skins offense. After Andrew Luck threw his first interception, Cam Newton led the ’Skins downfield & connected with Malcolm Kelly for the first touchdown of the game. In the second quarter however after amassing a comfortable 20-3 lead, the Eagles D forced Newton to fumble twice in less than 2 minutes. They capitalized by kicking two field goals to pull within two scores to end the half.

In the second half the ’Skins momentum on offense waned a bit. Despite this the defense prevented any big plays from the Eagles thanks to a heavy pass rush. Another big kick return for a touchdown by rookie Ryan Broyles kept the lead big for Washington. Eagles kicker David Akers kicked his final field goal in the closing seconds of the third quarter. It would be the last points the Eagles would score. In the forth quarter Cam Newton got hot again which resulted with a huge 6 yard TD run by Cam on 3rd & Goal & a Graham Gano field goal. Andrew Luck tried to rally the troops in his 280 yard performance but turnovers became a big factor. Adam Carriker’s fourth & final sack resulted in a fumble recovered by rookie corner Brandon Hogan which sealed the game for the ’Skins. Up next in the ’Skins three game road trip is up north to face the lowly Buffalo Bills.

Haynesworth to sit out with shoulder injury

LANDOVER, M.D-- Albert Haynesworth's 2011 season has taken another setback. This time with a torn shoulder labrum that he suffered during the 'Skins victory over the Eagles.

Hayneworth sustained the injury late in the 2nd quarter & didn't return. Team doctors have said that while it isn't as major as the tear suffered by runningback Jerious Norwood, Haynesworth will have to sit out at least the game this Sunday at Buffalo.

This injury is another in a series of setbacks that have made Haynesworth's stint here in D.C. less & less noteworthy. Despite having a $100 Million contract, the defensive tackle has only recorded one sack this year & no more than 4 since becoming a Redskin.

BILLS PULL UPSET IN THE SLIP-N-SLIDE BOWL

It was a cold, rainy day in Ralph Wilson Stadium as everyone seemed to expect the Redskins to walk in & out with another victory. However the Bills, lead by the superb rushing performance of Fred Jackson, wasn’t willing to follow the script. The game was filled with muddy fumbles & miscues that eventually caught up with the ‘Skins as they fell 38-35 to the Bills in a big upset. The six turnovers committed by Washington was a single game high this year & head coach Mike Shanahan described the loss in just one simple word, “painful”.

The Bills established the run early into the game with Fred Jackson scoring the first TD. From there the ‘Skins would end their first drive the worst way possible. A Cam Newton fumble recovered by linebacker Paul Posluszny for a 65 yard touchdown quickly made Washington down by two scores. From there until halftime the Redskins were constantly having to play catch-up with Buffalo. Fumbles by both teams kept the ball shifting between both offenses hands. The game remained close with the lead rapidly exchanging throughout the third & fourth quarter.

After a 45 yard Larry Johnson touchdown (his longest of the year), the ‘Skins were on top 35-31 with four minutes remaining. Then on the next procession a lax ’Skins frontline allowed Fred Jackson to blaze a huge 64 yard touchdown which put the Bills back on top. After this saw the two biggest turnovers the Redskins had. First an interception thrown by Cam Newton in the end zone. Then after the Redskins on a miracle fumble they recovered after the two minute warning, Newton tried for a daring run down the sideline. Only to get caught from behind a cough up the final fumble of the game thus sealing a Bills upset win. The Redskins will remain on the road next week in their fight for division supremacy against the 3-4 Giants.

DOUBT CREEPS IN AFTER STUNNING LOSS IN MEADOWLANDS

Questions of rather or not the Redskins could make a playoff run continued to arise this Sunday after another devastating loss that came down to the final play of the game. Cam Newton threw his final of 3 interceptions (this time to Antrel Rolle) to seal the game for the Giants., who won 24-21. Eli Manning had a big game compared to his rookie counterpart. Throwing for 3 touchdowns & 327 yards against a ’Skins secondary that looked helpless. Washington has lost 3 out of their last 4 games & with this loss they have now dropped from 1st place in the NFC East.

The first half of the game was a defensive slugfest between these heated division rivals. Cam Newton put the first touchdown on the board with his 1 yard goal-line dive in the closing minutes of the first quarter. Eli Manning & the superb Giants running game was kept in check for most of the half. With the ‘Skins only slip up being the 32 yard bomb from Manning to receiver Ramses Barden. Things started to turn for the worst with ’Skins wideout Malcolm Kelly leaving the game late in the 2nd quarter with a abdominal injury.

From the start of the 2nd half on Eli Manning’s arm began to heat up. Throwing huge TD passes to Steve Smith & once again to Ramses Barden. One of the few bright spots of the game for Washington was from Ryan Broyles. He not only had a career day receiving with 7 catches for 103 yards, but he broke the single season kick return TD record with his 91 yard run in the 3rd. That along with a Newton TD pass to Josh Reed put the ’Skins down by 3 with 3:25 remaining. After forcing the Giants to punt with the two minute warning & 2 timeouts left, Washington began to drive downfield. Sadly once again Cam Newton couldn’t put together a game winning drive, buckling under the pressure of the Giants pass rush & forcing a pass to Devin Thomas that gets picked off. With that, many now wonder if this is the game that puts Washington out of the playoff race. Next could spell the end of the road for them as they return home to take on Tom Brady & the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.
