      A Speed, B Acceleration, C Agility, D Catching, C+ Route Running, C+ Jumping

The Beavers landed two 3-star wide receivers in Marcus Armstrong from Stockton, California, and Will Schroeder from Mercer Island, Washington. With the current depth at receiver on the Beavers, neither is expected to see the field any time soon. Armstrong at only 6'0", does not do anything spectacular but he is a decent route runner who could one day make a good possession receiver. Schroeder has the size at 6'3", is extremely raw but has elite straight line speed. He runs a 4.34 forty making him one of the top ten fastest receivers of the 2012 class. The problem with Schroeder is he drops a lot of footballs. Schroeder will likely be used in special teams as a kick returner and will probably be a perfect candidate to make some plays on the fly sweep. Coach Riley has also eluded to the possibility of making him a defensive back. In addition, three-star MLB Jabari Pitts out of Hesperia, California has changed his mind, and has now given a verbal commitment to Oregon State after previously giving the verbal to Washington.

        Game of the Week

        #9 WISCONSIN 5-1 (1-1) at #13 MICHIGAN STATE 5-1 (1-1)

Chris: Welcome to East Lansing, home of the Michigan State Spartans. Crowd goes nuts. Sparty was happy after Michigan State took down the hated in-state rival Michigan last week. Crowd cheers. But now the Spartans host the #9 Wisconsin Badgers who need a win today as much as the Spartans do. Has everybody gotten to know their Leaders and Legends? Wisconsin is sitting at 1-1 in the Leaders division behind Penn State and Ohio State who each are 2-1. While Michigan State in the Legends division is sitting at 1-1 which is currently behind Iowa and Nebraska who are each 2-0, and behind Michigan for now at 2-1. So each of these teams needs a win today to stay in the Big Ten Championship race.

        Gameday Predictions

        #22 Georgia Tech 6-1 (3-1) at #16 Miami 5-1 (2-1)
        Kirk: GT Lee: Mia

Chris: And now on to the this Big Ten duel here in East Lansing. Who keeps their conference championship hopes alive? Herbstreit, you're up first.

Kirk: This is going to be a great game today. The war in the trenches should be fun to watch. Both of these teams want to come in here and pound the rock, and run all day. But I think both of these defensive lines are going to force each team to pass the ball. If either team is successful running the ball. Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson (95) has been a great pickup for the Badgers. But I think MSU QB Kirk Cousins has played even better so far this season. Cousins has 14 touchdowns to only one interception. That is why I'm going with Sparty to win today at home in a very close game. Crowd goes crazy.

Lee: Nice pick Kirk. Don't forget about MSU HB Edwin Baker (91) the touchdown maker too! But forget about it! Not so fast! Wisconsin's HB duo of James White (91) and Montee Ball (90) have a combined 14 touchdowns and over 800 rushing yards between the two. And they each had over 1,000 yards last year. Even if the Spartans find a way to stop these guys, they will need to find a way to get to Wilson who should have a great day against these MSU corners. Wisconsin runs away with it. Sorry fans...

          #9 Wisconsin 5-1 (1-1) at #13 Michigan State 5-1 (1-1)

East Lansing, MI - The Badgers got on the scoreboard first when the Spartans were able to hold Wisconsin at the goal line, forcing the Badgers to kick a 21-yard chip shot. 3-0 Wisconsin.

The story of the 1st quarter though would be MSU HB Edwin Baker (91) being carted off the field with what was later determined to be a strained pectoral muscle. Baker would be out the remainder of the game but should not miss any future games.

It appeared like this was going to be an old fashioned hard-nosed Big Ten game heading into the 2nd quarter. Wisconsin HB James White though would be able to break through and get outside to find some open space down the sideline, where he was finally taken down at the 10-yard line for a big 47-yard scamper.

However, the Badgers could not take advantage of the big play, and again had to settle for a short field goal. The 26-yard field goal split the uprights to give Wisconsin the 6-0 lead.

Later in the 2nd quarter, Wisconsin's offensive line started to dominate the line of scrimmage, as HB James White (91) was able to find big holes to run through. The Badgers marched into MSU territory where QB Russell Wilson (95) on a speed option to the left pitched the ball to White at the perfect time, allowing White to take it in for a 24-yard touchdown. 13-0 Wisconsin.

The Spartans countered with their best drive of the day thus far into the red zone. However, MSU QB Kirk Cousins (91) would decide to scramble into a crowd of Badger defenders, resulting in a fumble which Wisconsin would recover. It would remain 13-0 Wisconsin at halftime.

So far it had been all Badgers but on the opening Spartan possession of the 3rd quarter, HB Levon Bell, in for the injured HB Edwin Bakers, ran over and through the Badger defense en route to a 54-yard touchdown scamper to get Michigan State on the scoreboard. 13-7 Wisconsin.

Wisconsin responded by getting position to attempt a 39-yard field goal which split the uprights. 16-7 Wisconsin.

Michigan State was now feeling confident as MSU QB Kirk Cousins connected with TE Brian Linthicum for a gain of 31 yards. Then on the next play, HB Levon Bell took a toss to the right down the sideline where he was finally taken down inside the Badger 15-yard line.

On the very next play, Cousins handed it back off to Bell who took right in for a 14-yard touchdown. 16-14 Wisconsin.

We now had a game again, and the Spartan faithful were now electrified. Michigan State clearly had momentum on their side. And then the Badgers went three-and-out. The Spartans then marched into Badger territory and appeared ready to take the lead until Cousins was intercepted by Wisconsin CB Devin Smith. However, Wisconsin was still unable to get anything going offensively, and would go three-and-out again.

It was still anybody's game in the 4th quarter, but neither the Spartans nor the Badgers were able to make a play. Michigan State would punt and the Wisconsin punted the ball right back. Finally, the Spartans were able to put a drive together, but the Badgers held strong in the red zone. But MSU would make a 26-yard field goal to take the lead with only 1:02 remaining. 17-16 MSU.

Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson now had under a minute to propel his team into position to win the game with a field goal. HB James White got the drive started well with a 15-yard gain on a draw. But then Wilson was sacked. Then to make matters worse, the Badgers were penalized for a false start as Spartan Stadium was rocking. Wilson would get sacked again on the next play. So it was now 3rd-and-24 at their own 27-yard line. Wilson was forced to scramble for only a single yard, and was forced to leave with a minor injury. So in came QB Jon Budmayr, facing 4th-and-California, actually 4th-and-23. Budmayr was given a ton of time, and launched one deep over the middle to a surprisingly wide open TE Jacob Pedersen who made the catch around the 25-yard line, and ran it in the rest of the way for a 72-yard touchdown to take the air out of Spartan Stadium. Though the MSU defense was able stop White on the 2-point conversion. 22-17 Wisconsin.

Now all the pressure was on Michigan State to score a touchdown with very little time. On the ensuing kickoff, MSU BJ Cunningham fielded it at the 3-yard line and found a small crease. Then kicked his legs out of a diving tackler around the MSU 40-yard line. Now there was nothing but green in front of him. Cunningham tried to kick it into the next gear, but Wisconsin CB Andrew Lukasko was able to make a potentially game-saving tackle to prevent a touchdown near the Wisconsin 45-yard line. It was still a 48-yard return that now would give the Spartans a small chance.

Cousins was able to get the Spartans to the 32-yard line, but time was running out. With :04 left in the game, Cousins threw into the end zone for one last play. But the ball sailed over the end zone, and doinked the crossbar for an incompletion to end the game with a giant dud.

          #9 Wisconsin 22
QB Russell Wilson: 13/24, 121 yds, 12 car, 37 yds
HB James White: 23 car, 178 yds, td

Re: Let it Rage: An Oregon State Dynasty

            Oregon State 5-1 (3-0) at Washington State 2-4 (0-3)

Pullman, WA - Oregon State was looking for some payback after last year's shocking loss to Washington State in Corvallis. Now it was the Cougars that were hosting the Beavers at Martin Stadium. Washington State was still looking for their first Pac-12 win of the season. While a win for Oregon State would make the Beavers bowl eligible, which would allow Mike Riley to achieve his goal coming into this season.

Under a beautiful, clear evening sky on the Palouse, the Cougar fans were out in full force. On the very first play from scrimmage, OSU QB Ryan Katz noticed that the Cougs were bringing the house, and changed the play at the line of scrimmage despite the noise. Katz got the ball out on a quick out to WR Markus Wheaton, who broke the tackling attempt by the corner, and raced down the sideline until he was finally caught all the way down at the WSU 12 for a gain of 72 yards right out of the opening gate.

Two plays later, Katz hit WR James Rodgers on 10-yard slant for a touchdown to quickly put the Beavers in front 7-0.

Washington State responded with a three-and-out. The Beavers took over at the Wazzu 31 after a decent punt return by Rodgers. However, the Beavs could not take advantage. Only attempting a 46-yard field goal that was hooked wide left.

It looked like the Cougs had weathered the storm. Unfortunately, Wazzu still could not find their offense as they again went three-and-out. On the ensuing possession for Oregon State, Katz tried to stretch the field with a deep pass to Wheaton only to be intercepted by Wazzu CB Nolan Washington, bringing the crowd back into the game.

Though Martin Stadium's excitement was quickly silenced when the Cougars again went three-and-out. However, on the ensuing possession, Katz was pressured out of the pocket, and panicked, throwing a duck into coverage that was easily intercepted by Wazzu CB Aire Austin.

Washington State again had a chance to make this a game, but after initially being able to move the chains, the Cougars were again forced to punt.

In the 2nd quarter, Katz put his mistakes behind him and helped lead a balanced drive right down the field into the red zone. Where HB Jordan Jenkins punched it in from two yards out to put OSU in front 14-0.

On the ensuing possession, OSU DE sacked Wazzu QB Jeff Tuel already for the 2nd time of the game to force the Cougars to punt again. The Beavers then methodically marched into scoring position where HB Jordan Jenkins ran behind his offensive line into the end zone from the one-yard line to put OSU up big, 21-0.

Just when you thought Oregon State was about to run away with it, Wazzu HB Logwone Mitz, on the very first play from scrimmage on the ensuing drive, ran through OSU DE Taylor Henry, then broke through FS Lance Mitchell, and OLB Cameron Collins to find nothing but green in front of him, housing a 74-yard scamper to get the Cougs on the board just before halftime. 21-7 OSU.

Aside from the long touchdown run by Mitz, it had been all Beavers so far. Washington State opened the 3rd quarter looking dead in the water, facing another three-and-out on 3rd-and-long until QB Jeff Tuel threw a pass over the middle to that looked well in front of WR Jare Karstetter. But Karstetter laid out and unbelievably came up with it on an amazing diving catch for a gain of 22 yards.

Martin Stadium and the entire Cougar team was now pumped up after the incredible catch to keep the Wazzu drive alive. Then all of a sudden QB Jeff Tuel became a runner, scrambling three times, each time for a first down. Suddenly, the Cougars were in the red zone, knocking on the door inside the OSU 10-yard line. And then HB Logwane Mitz found his way into the end zone for a five-yard touchdown to bring Martin Stadium to a frenzy.
However, there was a flag down. "Holding on the offense," announced the referee. The penalty took the points off the scoreboard. And then OSU DE Blake Harrah was able to explode around the edge to take down Tuel for a big sack. The sack forced Paul Wulff to trot out the field goal team. Unfortunately, the Cougars could not do that right either as the kick just barely missed wide left as Martin Stadium let out a collective groan.

The Beavers then took over and marched down the field like a machine. Inside the red zone, Katz threw a quick pass out to TE Joe Halahuni who broke a tackle at the goal line, and took it into the end zone for an eight-yard touchdown to finish off a 10-play, 80-yard drive. It was suddenly 28-7 OSU.

The Cougars now lost whatever confidence they had, being forced to punt again. Oregon State took over as the game moved into the 4th quarter with the Beavers tacking on a 46-yard field goal to go ahead 31-7. Washington State then moved into OSU territory only to turnover the ball on downs to put this one to rest as the Beavers avenged last season's loss at Reser with an impressive win over the Cougars.

            Oregon State 31
QB Ryan Katz: 20/26, 231 yds, 2 td, 2 int
HB Jordan Jenkins: 20 car, 129 yds, 2 td
WR Markus Wheaton: 3 rec, 96 yds
DE Andrew Seumalo: 6 tot tkl, 3 tfl, 2 sk

The Beavers received their first two defensive commitments of the 2012 class from three-star MLB Jabari Pitts and three-star DT Andrew Morse. Pitts was one of Oregon State's top targets. He had originally given Washington a verbal commitment despite an actual scholarship offer from the Huskies. "I felt snubbed that I never got an offer from Washington, but I'm happy to be a Beaver," said the #14 MLB. " I can't wait until I get my chance to play the Huskies." Pitts did get an offer from UCLA, but chose Oregon State. Pitts is quick to the football, gets off his blocks well enough, and will usually wrap up the ball carrier. Though he does lack size at only 6'0", and needs to learn the mental side of the position a bit better. But with MLBs Rueben Robinson and Feti Unga both juniors, Oregon State will almost certainly redshirt Pitts.

Oregon State desperately needs to get some defensive tackles into Corvallis and DT Andrew Morse is the first to commit to the Beavers. Morse really needs to hit the weight room as he has a tendency of being overpowered at the line especially in the run game. But Morse makes his presence known pass rushing with decent explosiveness off the snap, and a good bull rush to pressure the passing game. Expect the Beavers to get a few more defensive tackles in this class since DTs Kevin Frahm, Dominic Glover, and Ben Motter are all seniors. Morse will almost certainly see playing time right away next season as a freshman.

Chris: It just would not be an Emac dynasty without at least one game of the week at the Horseshoe. Welcome to Columbus everybody where the #15 Ohio State Buckeyes will host the #10 Wisconsin Badgers in a Big Ten Leaders divisional contest. Wisconsin was just barely able to escape East Lansing with a win over Michigan State last week and if the Badgers can pull off the win today over the Buckeyes, then they might be able to make a run again Penn State for the Big Ten Leaders division crown to play in the conference championship. While Ohio State also needs the win today to keep up with Penn State.

Chris: It is really too bad that FSU QB EJ Manuel has been lost for the season due to injury. His lost has really set the Seminoles back this year. Now on to this Big Ten Leaders divisional game here in Columbus. Kirk, how do you see this playing out?

Kirk: This is going to be a great game between two evenly matched football teams. Both teams have offensive weapons. For Wisconsin, their offense starts with their terrific tailback duo of James White (91) and Montee Ball (90). But the Badgers also have a special WR in Nick Toon (93) who is a crisp route runner who catches just about anything thrown to him. While the Buckeyes have a good tailback in Boom Herron (92). And QB Joe Bauserman (85) has a bevy of talented, quick receivers such as Devier Posey (93) to get the ball to. But don't sleep on either of these defenses. I expect this to be a low scoring slugfest. Turnovers and special teams are going to play a crucial role today. But I really expect Wisconsin's QB Russell Wilson (95) to have a big impact today. I also think that Wisconsin has the better kicker and in a game like this, field goal kicking could be the difference. So I'm going with the Badgers to win a close, close game. Crowd boos.

Lee: Kirk, how can you pick against your beloved Buckeyes here in Columbus? And kickers? Really kickers?! You're picking Wisconsin because of a good kicker?! You're right sweetheart. This will be a close, close game. But these teams are so evenly matched and I wasn't very impressed by Wisconsin last week against the Spartans. That's why I'm going with the...

                      #10 WISCONSIN 6-1 (2-1) at #15 OHIO STATE 5-2 (2-1)

Columbus, OH - Wisconsin marched down the field on the opening possession of the game where QB Russell Wilson (95) threw to WR Jared Abberderis in the back of the end zone. Abberderis stretched out to make the catch for a 16-yard touchdown reception to finish off an impressive nine-play, 73-yard opening drive to put the Badgers on top 7-0.

The Buckeyes were in danger of opening with a three-and-out until QB Joe Bauserman found TE Jake Stoneburner over the middle for a 35 yard gain. However, Ohio State's drive fizzled, and the Buckeyes would have to punt. The Badgers would not replicate their opening possession success as they would go three-and-out.

In the 2nd quarter, Bauserman bombed it depp to freshman WR Verlon Reed into the endzone only to be intercepted by Wisconsin SS Shelton Johnson. The Badgers then marched into OSU territory but stalled at the OSU 30. Facing 4th-and-two, Wilson tossed it out to HB Montee Ball on a toss to the left. Ball was able to break a tackle in the backfield, and found a crease to pick up ten yards. Inside the red zone, QB Russell Wilson at the five-yard line could not find anybody open, so he took it in himself for a five-yard touchdown scramble to finish off a methodical 11-play, 79-yard drive. 14-0 Wisconsin.

The Buckeyes responded with a three-and-out. The Badgers were really started to wear out the Buckeye defense with their offensive line as Wisconsin HB James White was finding big openings. Mainly behind White's rushing, the Badgers made their way out to the OSU 39 where the faced 4th-and-eight. Badger head coach Bret Bielema decided to keep the offense on the field. But Wilson's pass was completed out of bounds.

Ohio State took over with decent field position. Bauserman would throw up a prayer into coverage but OSU WR Devier Posey (93) went up for it and made the catch for a big 27-yard reception.

The Buckeyes then were able to move to the Wisconsin 25 but faced 4th-and-inches. OSU HB Boom Herron got the handoff but was stoned in the backfield by Wisconsin OLB Mike Taylor as Ohio State turned over the ball on downs. Ohio State could not run the ball at all as the Badger front seven was dominating the line of scrimmage.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Wisconsin's offensive line was dominating the line of scrimmage. The Badgers had under a minute to try and get some points on the board. On the first play, White took a draw for a 15 yard gain out to their own 41. Wisconsin called a timeout. Then Wilson went over the top to Abberderis for another 28 yards. Wisconsin called another timeout. Then Wilson made a couple scrambles to get the Badgers inside the red zone to attempt a 27-yard field goal which split the uprights. 17-0 Wisconsin at halftime.

On the very first play from scrimmage of the 3rd quarter, Bauserman tried to thread the needle into Posey only to have Wisconsin FS Aaron Henry pick him off. And then Bauserman had to watch as Henry broke out of a tackle and took it the other way for a 53-yard pick-six to make it 24-0 Wisconsin.

The Buckeyes then would go three-and-out. The Badgers now had a chance to make a fatal knockout blow to Ohio State's chances. Wilson handed the ball off to White on a stretch to the left. White broke containment by getting outside and was off to the races. Taking it 60 yards to the house. Game over. But there was a flag down. The Badgers were called for clipping to bring it all the way back. On the next play, Wilson was forced to scramble but ran into a horde of Buckeye defenders resulting in a fumble. The Buckeyes were quick to jump on the football. Ohio Stadium erupted to life.

Ohio State suddenly found its offense and Bauserman threw a laser to sophomore WR Chris Fields who fought his way through Badger defenders at the goal line for a ten-yard touchdown reception to get the Buckeyes on the scoreboard. Then Bauserman threw a screen to Posey who scurried into the end zone for the two-point conversion. 24-8 Wisconsin.

Ohio Stadium was now rocking and The Horseshoe was now a factor in the game for the first time since the opening of the game. The noise seemed to effect Wisconsin's rhythm as the Badgers went three-and-out. Ohio State took over and Bauserman went long to sophomore WR Corey Brown for a big 48-yard gain to get the Buckeyes to the Badger nine-yard line.

Herron then burst up the middle for a gain of seven yards, his best run of the game.

Heading into the 4th quarter, Ohio State was showing signs of life and appeared ready to score. But Herron would be stuffed on the next play. Then a toss to Herron would result in him being taken down in the backfield for a loss. It was now 4th-and-goal just inside the five-yard line. Head coach Luke Fickell did not bring out the field goal team. Bauserman out of the gun was able to find WR Chris Fields in the back of the end zone for a four-yard touchdown. This time the two-point attempt failed but it was now only 24-14 Wisconsin.

The crowd was now really into it but Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson was able to lead a clutch drive where he threw a strike to WR Jeff Duckworth for a 12-yard touchdown to make a major statement, sucking the air out of the Horseshoe. 31-14 Wisconsin.

On the ensuing kickoff, Posey fielded the football at the nine, headed up field where he stiff-armed a defender, breaking out of a tackle at the 30, accelerated up field where he stiff-armed his way out of another tackle. Ohio Stadium roared as Posey at this point had nothing but green in front of him. The Badger defenders could not get the angle on the speedster as Posey raced down the sideline, taking it 91 yards to the house. Suddenly, it was just a 31-21 lead for the Badgers with still 3:13 remaining.

Ohio State lined up for an onside kick but the Badgers would recover it. When the Badger offense took over, HB James White (91) was not in the huddle. Erin Andrews then reported that White was out of the game with a strained pectoral, and he would not return. Despite not having White, the Badgers still had HB Montee Ball (90), and marched behind their big offensive line. Although the Buckeye defense held to force the Badgers to attempt a long 49-yard field goal which was doinked off the left upright.

The Badgers took over with excellent field position, but Bauserman was sacked twice to set up a 3rd-and-forever. Bauserman took the snap out of shotgun and threw deep to Posey who was as wide open as could be. Ohio Stadium roared even before Posey made the catch as he was off to the races for a 76-yard touchdown to make it 31-28 Wisconsin with still 1:22 left to go.

It would all come down to the onside kick. The Buckeyes again lined up for the onside kick. The football was dribbled along the field, but the Badgers easily recovered it as the crowd let out a massive collective groan. Wisconsin HB Montee Ball then ran out the clock and the Badgers win another close game in the Big Ten.

Thanks. Yes, I watch the games. I actually enjoy watching the games and seeing what is going on around the rest of the nation. Occasionally I step in to make some decisions for the A.I. such as mass subs when it is a blowout.

Thanks. That's funny. I just find random pictures of current recruits on rivals that match as closely as possible the look and size of the recruits in the game.

Thank you for the comments guys. I really appreciate it. Keep them coming.

                              OREGON STATE 6-1 (4-0) at UTAH 4-3 (2-2)

Salt Lake City, UT - The debut season for Utah in the Pac-12 has shown that the Utes can definitely compete in a BCS conference. Utah is right there with USC competing for the South division. And the Utes were confident after throttling Cal 38-10 in Berkeley. Oregon State's last trip to Salt Lake City to face Utah did not end well for the Beavers. Back in 2008, OSU was coming off a memorable upset over then #1 USC in Reser and was confident for the game. The Beavers were up 28-20 with just 2:18 remaining and somehow let Utah score a touchdown, a 2-point conversion, and a field goal to lose 31-28. The Utes would go undefeated that year, stunning Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Oregon State faces a huge Pac-12 North game next week when they host Stanford at Reser Stadium so hopefully the Beavers would not be looking past Utah.

Oregon State did not look particularly sharp as they opened the game with a quick three-and-out. On the ensuing punt, Utah WR Devonte Crhistopher failed to call a fair catch, and was sandwhiched by OSU CBs Rashaad Reynolds and Keynan Parker. Christopher was destroyed and the football came loose. Parker was able to get up after the collision, scooped up the ball and took it in for an easy touchdown to silence Rice-Eccles Stadium. 7-0 OSU.

Utah then went three-and-out. OSU took over and put together a methodical drive into scoring position. Where QB Ryan Katz handed the ball off to WR James Rodgers on a fly sweep, and the diminutive playmaker found his way into the end zone from one yard away to cap off a 12-play, 63-yard drive. 14-0 OSU.

The situation would actually get much worse for Utah when OSU DE Taylor Henry blasted through the offensive line and dropped QB Jordan Wynn in the backfield for his 5th sack of the season. But more importantly for the Utes, Wynn was forced to leave the game with an apparent back injury. We would later learn that it was strained back that would sideline Wynn for 11 weeks. Not surprisingly, Utah would go three-and-out again.

Despite the adversity, Utah's defense stepped up to the plate in the 2nd quarter and forced Oregon State to punt after a three-and-out. Unfortunately, the Utes still could not figure out any answer to move the football against the Beaver defense as Utah again went three-and-out. Oregon State's next possession stalled and the Beavs had to punt. But Johnny Hekker kicked a beautiful punt that was downed at the Utah three-yard line.

Suddenly, the Utes got something going and marched out to midfield where they faced 4th-and-one. True freshman QB Tyler Schreve faked the handoff to HB Thretton Palamo, rolled left and threw to a wide open WR Devonte Christopher who had beat OSU CB Jordan Poyer. Christopher made the catch around the 25 and took it all the way in for a 51-yard touchdown. 14-7 OSU.

Though the Beavers countered back when HB Jovan Stevenson received some terrific blocking, giving him space to take it 52 yards to the house. 21-7 OSU.

On the ensuing possession, Utah QB Tyler Schreve went deep to WR Anthony Denham, and connected for a 41 yard gain all the way down to the OSU seven-yard line.

Schreve then found HB Thretton Palamo who got between OSU OLB Cameron Collins and MLB Rueben Robinson into the end zone for an eight-yard touchdown to finish off an impressive eight-play, 74-yard drive. 21-14 OSU.

The Beavers got the ball back with just :43 left on their own side of the field. Mike Riley decided not to risk a turnover, and ran the clock out to take it to halftime.

Amazingly, Utah was rallying behind their true freshman QB Tyler Schreve as he connected on another bomb. This time it was WR Devonte Christopher who climbed the ladder to make a big 47 yard reception at the OSU 11-yard line.

But Oregon State's defense as it has done all season long stepped up in the red zone, and forced Utah to settle for a 27-yard field goal. Unfortunately for the Utes, the chip shot just missed right of the goalposts. Oregon State had dodged a bullet, but then came out with their ugliest three-and-out of the game.

With decent field position, the Utes put together a nice drive. On 3rd-and-four from the OSU 41-yard line, Schreve playfaked to Palamo, and immediately went deep to Christopher. Rice-Eccles Stadium roared as Christopher had beaten CB Brandon Hardin for a 41-yard touchdown to tie the game 21-21.

On the ensuing possession, the Beavers were able to pick up a first down but the drive would stall, and the Beavers were forced to punt the ball back to a confident Utah team. We would also learn from a sideline reporter that surprisingly, OSU WR James Rodgers was out of the game with hip bursitis, and would not return. Oregon State was able to force Utah to punt on the next Ute possession.

The Beavers then put together a nice drive in the 4th quarter, but the Utes held at the 19-yard line. Mike Riley trotted out Hekker to attempt a go ahead 36-yard field goal which split the uprights to regain the lead for the Beavers. 24-21.

The Utes offense was now really sputtering as Utah would go three-and-out. Oregon State then went to the run game and started to milk the clock with some good hard running by HBs Jordan Jenkins and Jovan Stevenson. But the drive stalled at the Ute 20-yard line. So out came Hekker again to attempt a 37-yarder. This time Hekker was able to just barely squeeze the football through the left upright to make it 27-21 OSU with just 2:01 remaining.

Utah would have the ball at their own 25 with 1:57 to go. The drive did not get off to a good start as Schreve was sacked on the first play. The game would all come down to 4th-and-eight from the 27. The Beavers brought some heat on the true freshman, and Schreve gunned a pass over the middle only to be intercepted by OSU SS Josh LaGrone.

The turnover effectively ended the game. Oregon State has to be discouraged to give up 252 yards through the air to a true freshman quarterback. But the Beavers are starting to look like a team of destiny as Oregon State again wins another close game to stay undefeated in the Pac-12. Though that could all change next week at Reser Stadium where Oregon State will host undefeated Stanford for potential Pac-12 North supremacy.
