Update: XBOX Live expired, so no more photos for awhile. I apologize, the recaps will have more details but losing photos is going to hurt, and I might move to a second dynasty on my roommate's account (with xbox live) after this season. I will finish it out soon, thanks for sticking with me so far.

        Tigers host Cyclones
The #5 Missouri Tigers (7-1) are hosting the near winless Cyclones (1-7) who have only defeated FCS opponent Northern Iowa. Iowa State has lost to #19 Iowa (9-1), #6 Oklahoma (6-2), #18 Texas A&M (5-3) and #15 Oklahoma State (5-3); so the road to those 7 losses is understandable. However, Missouri has played and beaten two of those opponents, and Iowa State has allowed 6 opponents to achieve over 35 pts.

Now, the Tigers are not perfect. They have an offense but the defense has been lackluster in 2 games this year, allowing 56 pts to Boise State and 31pts to Baylor. Besides that the Tigers have shut down everyone. This game is the Tiger's to lose. They have the #3 offense in the nation (43.3pts/game) and the #1 defense in the nation
The Bears have the 113th offense (15.5 pts/game) and the 73rd defense.

          Key games in week 11
          Iowa State (1-7) at #5 Missouri (7-1)
          BYU (5-4) at #19 Iowa (8-1)
          #12 Utah (8-1) at Colorado (3-6)
#2 Boise State (8-0) at New Mexico (1-7)
          #4 Illinois (8-1) at Purdue (4-5)
          #25 Nevada (7-1) at #6 Oklahoma (6-2)
          Army (3-7) at #9 Notre Dame (8-2)
          North Texas (3-5) at #9 Troy (8-1)
#1 Oregon State at UCLA (3-7)
          #14 Stanford (7-3) at #3 Oregon (8-1)
          Kansas State (3-5) at #13 Kansas (7-1)
          #8 Michigan State (7-3) at #23 Nebraska (6-3)
          #10 Georgia (8-1) at #11 Auburn (7-2)
          Utah State (1-7) at #21 Idaho (8-0)

The biggest stories revolve around the two undefeated teams at the top: Oregon State and Boise State. The Beavers are playing a slightly underrated UCLA Bruins squad that has played and lost to four bowl eligible squads and only lost two games very convincingly.
The Broncos are taking on possibly the worst team in FBS. New Mexico is ranked 115th in offense, 119th in defense, and their pass offense is 108th. Boise State is ranked #2 in points per game, #23 in pass offense, and #44 on total offense.

Cyclones give Tigers headache for all but 14 seconds

The Iowa State Cyclones (1-7) walked into Faurot Field knowing they had a lot to prove. The #5 Missouri Tigers (7-1) were overlooking them, and the Cyclones knew it.

The Cyclones took a 7-0 lead on their game opening drive when Steele Jantz connected with Jeff Woody on a 57 yard strike.
James Franklin fumbled on the Tigers first possession and Jeff Woody and the Cyclones marched 37 yards to take a 14-0 lead.

The Tiger defense stepped up big time not allowing any more touchdowns, but James Franklin threw 3 INTs in the first half and fumbled once more and the Cyclones slide into halftime up 26-0 thanks to getting great field position four times!

The Tigers defense locked down in the second half, getting three and outs on almost every single drive. However, Franklin left the game hurt after the opening drive of the third quarter and Ashton Glasser could not move the ball down field.

Finally, the Tiger defense took matters into their own hands. M. White picked off Jantz on a 3rd and long bomb and took it back to the house to make it 26-7. A three and out later the Tigers blocked a punt and H. Josey walked the ball into the endzone to make it 26-14 at the end of three.

                Z. Gooden picked off Jantz halfway through the fourth period and the Tigers managed to sneak in a touchdown for a 26-21 deficit with 1:48 left. The Tigers held the Cyclones to three and out, and took the field with 0:57 left and no timeouts with 79 yards to go.

                A. Glasser connected with TJ Moe for 17 yards on the first play. Henry Josey rushed the ball 22 yards on the next play. The Tigers next two pass attempts hit the ground, and with 0:27 left the Tigers were going for 3rd and 10. Josey caught a pass but was tackled before the 1st down marker, so it was 4th and inches.

Glasser threw a bomb to L. Washington and he dove across the goal line with 0:07 left to take a 27-26 lead. The Tigers missed the two point conversion, but it didn't matter as they won 27-26.

Missouri Tiger POTG: H. Josey 21 carries for 106 yards and 2 TD, 4 catches for 37 yards.
                C. Browning 6 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 INT
                M White 8 tackles, 1 INT, 1 defensive TD

Iowa State POTG Steele Jantz 22-35 for 311 yards and 2 TD, 5 INTs.

                      Game Notes
The Missouri Tigers host the Kansas State Wildcats.
As the season winds down the Tigers are eying their Border War with #11 Kansas next weekend, but they need to pay attention to the Wildcats.
James Franklin is questionable, and after two close games the Tigers have shown they are vulnerable to certain attacks. If they are spread out and rushed the Tigers secondary is vulnerable to short and medium range passes.

There will not be much rushing in this one, as the top 2 rush defenses in the nation meet up.

Games to watch the second to last weekend of November
Kansas State (3-6) travels to #5 Missouri (8-1)
Iowa State (1-8) travels to #11 Kansas (8-1)
#2 Boise State (9-0) travels to Fresno State (9-1)
                        #16 Iowa (9-1) travels to Nebraska (6-4)
                        #10 Utah (9-1) travels to #1 Oregon State (10-0)
                        Washington (5-5) at #3 Oregon (9-1)
#4 Illinois (9-1) goes to Ohio State (6-4)

All eyes will be on Boise State and Oregon State. If those two teams win out they will meet for the BCS National Championship. Also controlling their own destiny is #3 Oregon as the Ducks play the Beavers next week.
The #10 Utah Utes could also finish in the BCS title game if they defeat the Beavers this week, the Cal Bears next week, and then either Oregon or Oregon State in the Pac-12 title game.

Border War a throwback to 2007
In 2007 the Border War between Kansas and Missouri became a hugely televised and viewed football game as the #2 Kansas Jayhawks battled the #4 Missouri Tigers.
But for one loss, #10 Kansas might be ranked #1 or #2 again. Missouri is ranked #4 again. Whoever wins this game clinches the Big XII, they are both 7-0 in the league and whoever wins will be 8-0. The only two teams capable of finishing 8-1 are Missouri and Kansas, if the winner of the Border War loses next week they still hold the tiebreaker and will represent the Big XII in the 2013 Fiesta Bowl.

Last year's game was a shootout, and this year will be very similar. The Tigers have a weak secondary again, and Webb has been shooting up defenses for Kansas. Missouri hopes to hold Webb down, as the Kansas offense is prolific and could easily score 40-60 points, as they are currently averaging over 46 points per game and are #1 in scoring in the nation.

2012 Civil War has national title stakes
#2 Oregon (10-1) and #6 Oregon State (10-1) are getting it on, rivaling the Border War for attention, with a little more at stake. Whoever wins the 2012 Civil War gets the Pac-12 title bid, and providing Utah handles Cal like they should, will get another top 10 opponent to try and showcase why they should be the the BCS National championship in January.

If Oregon wins out they are guaranteed a slot, Oregon State will most likely be guaranteed one but Illinois is ranked above them and if they beat Wisconsin this weekend and Iowa stays a one loss team then it's anyone's guess.
