Thanks Connor, it's always great to know people are reading!

I did not take the SEC route, it was not announced when I made some other conference changes and I didn't figure we would jump to the SEC, so it's not fully realistic anymore but I enjoy it still.

I am St Joseph, MO area myself, try to make 1 or 2 Tiger games every year, always the Border Showdown (still War imo).

I played SS for MWSU for a year!

At least Pitt State romped NWMSU for us, I was so mad at that game this year and last in the playoffs.

          Missouri Tigers
For all the hoopla of the game between Arizona and Missouri, one thing was certain, nobody expected Arizona to even come close to Missouri.
Whether you believe the Tigers will win the national championship, or if they are destined to get BCS bid after BCS bid but never been seriously considered for the national championship, you have to admit the Tigers are on a different level than Arizona.

Missouri took charge first, marching down the field and scoring on a 57 yard miracle kick by C O'Connor. Arizona turned the ball over and Missouri quickly got into their own redzone, then coughed it up, as David Steele had a rare fumble at the end of a solid run, allowing Arizona to end the drive. Missouri's defense racked up a safety by sacking D. Garman and took a 5-0 lead.

          D. Steele with a rare fumble

Smith sacked D. Garman to give Missouri a 5-0 lead

Arizona responded by scoring a TD on one play when they got the ball back, a single 50 yard run by K. Carey. Missouri's no huddle hurry up spread offense quickly took the lead back when E. Torres scrambled in for a touchdown on an option play, giving Missouri the 12-7 lead after one period. E. Torres was perfect in the first period, going 7 for 7 with 117 yards and 4 rushes for 4 yards and 1 TD.

          K. Carey's 50 yard TD run

After an offensive standstill for Arizona at the start of the second half, Missouri wasted no time scoring on a 45 yard dash by W. Leftwich to take a 19-7 lead. Missouri's defense wasted no time, sacking Garman twice and hurrying him once to force a 4th and 24 from the 7 yard line, and then returning the punt to start their offense from the 35 yard line.

Arizona battled back, making it a 26-21 game at the halftime, and seemingly on a roll. Then halftime happened, and D. Steele returned the kickoff to start the second half 97 yards for a touchdown and a 33-21 lead. Arizona managed a field goal to end the third quarter, but the Tiger defense clamped down and bent but did not break, allowing Missouri a 47-24 victory. Missouri had one final great play with an interception followed by a 36 yard return by C. Graham with 0:27 left in the game.

          C. Graham's sole big play of the game, an interception with a 36 yard return

While it was a close game, Missouri forced 7 total fumbles, they just did not recover any of them. Arizona was fortunate to recover all their fumbles.

Missouri POTG: D. Steele 25 rushes for 139 yards and 2 TD, 2 catches for 33 yards, 4 kick returns for 169 yards and 1 TD, 2 punt returns for 14 yards.

          Ian Simon 8 tackles, 5 solo, 2 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 FF.

Weekend recap after October 11th, 2014
The Big 10 suffered greatly on October 11th, as #1 Wisconsin and #5 Penn State both went down in conference play. Wisconsin lost to unranked Rutgers, while Penn State was destroyed by #17 Michigan.

The Big 10's title hopes lie solely in the hands of still unbeaten's Ohio State and Michigan State, unless more top 10 teams fall from the ranks of the unbeaten.

The biggest losers are the Big 10 in that they lost #1/#1 Wisconsin and #5/#4 Penn State, but the Big XII has to be pissed. #1 loses two weeks in a row, but Missouri is still #2/#2, being leaped by first Wisconsin and now Michigan State.

Michigan State also owned the Harris poll, finishing with 38 first place votes and 1598 points total, 190 more than 2nd place Missouri who had 23 first place votes.
Ohio State who was idle last week leaped from #7 to #3 in the Harris Poll, jumping Kansas who killed Texas Tech 76-10 last week. Apparently undefeated in the Big 10 is just worth more.

              Game Notes
Last year #1 Missouri traveled to unranked Arkansas and they battled to an **** 24-23 finale. Missouri is 4-2 with Arkansas in this series which will become yet another yearly border war, joining Kansas and Iowa State in Missouri's nearby border foes.

#2 Missouri is a high powered even spread based offense with a balanced rushing attack and a quick quarterback. Arkansas operates on the spread offense, winning games with lots of points. Arkansas's lowest point total this year so far is 42, which they scored against Oklahoma State in overtime a few weeks ago. They have hit sixty once, and fifty another four times.

Missouri's offense is good, but their defense is better, allowing at most 24 points, which was this past week to Arizona. This is a battle of top 10 teams, most likely for the Big XII North Division Title, and it looks to be a great battle. Arkansas is actually the favorites this time, a 4 point favorite due to their strength being Missouri's weakness.

Gameday will be there, and kickoff is at 7pm sharp CST. Look for a shootout classic.

              #11 TCU (5-1) hosts #22 USC (5-1)

2004, and by play I mean I never played in a game, although I suited up most home games. I was basically practice squad with the ability to play in a game if they needed me, but I was a hard hitting sob type, and we faced to much speed that year. I was supposed to transition to LB but I ended up quitting the team instead.

I cannot wait to play Arkansas, however that game is likely to end badly for me, my secondary is lacking in 93+ speed and Arkansas has 4 WR's with over 97 speed..

Missouri loses two top defenders due to Academic Issues
College football is a high market, high money game. The men playing the game however are just young college students, and sometimes they make mistakes, like letting athletics mean more to them then academics. DJ Washington and Ian Simon from the starting defense and Darren Mackey the young safety who was playing most of the time have all been suspended from the team due to academic issues. Wes Leftwich also has been suspended from the team, but something non academic related apparently.
Apparently all three men should be able to earn their way back into playing with makeup exams and work the next few weeks, but they will miss the Arkansas game for sure, and possibly more.

Arkansas is now 21 point favorites.

#2 Missouri Tigers throttle #9 Razorbacks

The #2 Missouri Tigers (4-0) and the #9 Arkansas Razorbacks (7-0) met in Missouri in what promised to be the Big XII Division North Championship game.
Missouri suspended several players before the game due to off the field behavior, primarily academic problems. This led to Missouri being 21 point underdogs despite being the #2 team in the nation.

Arkansas started off the game with a promising drive, going 69 yards until K. Walker fumbled the ball on the 7 yard line, giving Missouri the ball and preserving the 0-0 tie. Missouri went 3 and out, and Arkansas again marched deep into the red zone. Missouri's defense forced a 4th and inches situation, and Arkansas gambled, and Missouri stuffed the attempted run by K. Walker.
Missouri's next play, 1st and 10 from their own 6, resulted in D. Steele blowing past several defenders, over a DB, and stumbling 94 yards for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

                      D. Steele broke a 94 yard run for a TD, breaking a 0-0 tie

Arkansas replied by once again getting into the redzone. This time they settled for a field goal and made it a 7-3 game.

Arkansas relied heavily on their running game, with their first touchdown coming at the hands of K. Walker who broke 6 tackles, including one attempted gang tackle, to rumble 43 yards for Arkansas's first TD of the day, making it a 14-10 ballgame, and keeping Arkansas close.

                      K. Walker shrugging off the last of 6 attempted tackles on his 43 yard touchdown run

Despite Arkansas having the #1 passing attack in the nation they came across very balanced, rushing more often then not, and gaining 233 yards on the game on the ground.

Missouri pulled ahead thanks to several Arkansas turnovers later, including a fumble on their own 16 with 10 seconds left in the 1st half. S. Ray picked it up and ran it in, giving Missouri a 28-10 lead at halftime and breaking the game open. Missouri continued to pour it on, and this top 10 matchup turning into a kicking contest with Missouri ousting Arkansas 52-24.

                      C. Jones pulled in two interceptions on the day, this one was huge to stop a long Arkansas drive

                      D. Steele had 23 carries for 212 yards and 2 TD with 4 catches for 53 yards

Missouri moving to #1 is huge, but Ohio State leaped to #2 without even playing, which shows the lack of respect the defending national champion Kansas Jayhawks (#3, 6-0) and the Big XII are getting right now.

If Ohio State and UCLA win out look their their more respected conferences to get them into the national championship. Although to be fair the Big 10 looks amazingly deep right now, with 8 teams ranked in the top 25. Of those ranked teams only 3of their losses (Iowa's 2, and one of Michigan's which was to #1 Missouri) have come to non-conference opponents.

The Pac-12 also is deep, with 5 ranked teams, and only one of the losses that their top 25 teams suffered being to a non-conference opponent.

Missouri and Kansas are heads and shoulders above the rest of the Big XII as last week showed when Missouri destroyed a highly respected Arkansas, but Arkansas dropped to #15, behind several 2 loss teams.

At this point it looks like the only undefeated teams Missouri and Kansas will stay ahead of are Boise State (#6, 7-0) and Navy (8-0).

Navy looks to be the best contender for the non-AQ automatic qualifying spot, although they have only played one team with a non-losing record so far (Nevada, 4-3).

Missouri should be #1 in the first BCS Polls, but don't look for them to hold that spot for long. Another thing hurting Missouri and Kansas is that they play two weeks before the conference championships, meaning the Big XII championship meeting between them cannot be two undefeated teams which could have possibly catapulted them past a highly regarded Pac-12 or Big 10 team beating a lower ranked opponent.

Big 10 and Big XII steal bowl games from SEC

While 2014 is still halfway going on, the Big 10 and Big XII snuck around the stole several prestigious bowls from the SEC and each other. Most bowl contracts are up this year, and most people assumed they would stay largely the same but that was not the case.

The Big 10 signed a contract for the 2015/2016/2017 seasons to play in the Music City, Cotton, Liberty and Chick-fil-A bowls while keeping their Gator, Outback, Capital One, and Rose Bowl contracts.

The Big XII snuck in by grabbing the Ticket City, Outback, Little Caesars, Capital One, and Gator Bowl while keeping their Texas Bowl, Insight Bowl, and Fiesta Bowl contracts.

The SEC was left to take the openings left by the Big 10 and the Big XII, which means they now have contracts with the Holiday, Alamo, Pinstripe, Insight, Texas, Cotton, and Sugar Bowls.

The losses and gains are that the Big XII & Big 10 will now play higher profile bowl matchups, while losing the SEC/Big 10 atmosphere with their tops teams facing off. The Big XII is extremely top heavy this year, but unfortunately we will not get to see these bowl games play out until 2015.

How the mighty have fallen since the SEC won 5 national championships in a row and were about to put the Big XII under by taking Texas A&M and courting Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma.

Missouri ranked #1 on BCS, Harris indicates trouble though

Missouri is the #1 team in the first BCS Standings of 2014. However, the Tigers and Head Coach Gary Pinkle are not happy.
The Missouri Tigers started the season ranked #3. They leapfrogged Wisconsin in the first week, and were later passed back by the Badgers.
Three weeks ago #1 Oregon lost to UCLA. The next week #1 Wisconsin fell to Rutgers. This past weekend #1 Michigan State lost to arch-rival Michigan. Missouri was always #2. Always.

The Harris poll followed standard suit, leaping Ohio State who didn't even play from #3 to #1 over Missouri, who stayed at #2. UCLA leaped Kansas by beating a 1 win Indiana team to take 3rd, and Kansas stayed pat at #4 beating a traditionally tough Oklahoma team.

Expect Missouri to be 2nd in the BCS next week, and possibly even 3rd. UCLA has a matchup with #10 TCU (6-1) this weekend, and Ohio State plays Purdue (4-2) so Missouri needs style points. But if destroying the #9 team in the nation is not enough, what is?

Despite the current rankings, the BCS Bowl's are not looking pretty for fans of the Big XII. Also, no non-AQs are currently even ranked, so look for 3 at large bids this year.

Two of the last three years this game has been extremely close, with last years game being a 23-20 4OT game.

This is the seventh straight meeting where at least one team has their eyes on the national championship, and the last few years it has been the Tigers.

It is also the sixth time in the last seven meetings that one of the teams has been ranked #3 or higher. The one anomaly was in 2011 when Missouri was ranked #6.

This game does not look close, either statistically or in experience. Texas keeps failing to utilize their talented roster, and they have lost to every FBS opponent they have played besides Baylor.

Missouri should effectively limit the weak Texas offense who is ranked fairly low in yards/per, and their offense should take advantage of Texas's decent but not great defense.

Missouri will not be taking this game lightly despite the fact Texas is two losses away from becoming bowl ineligible.
