Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
He's been a very solid receiver for the Tigers the last few years, he is actually the top one in OVR but his catch and jump ratings are much lower than the one's above him on the depth chart, which I reorganized as Gary Pinkle's aid.
I hope he can get back onto my team soonComment

Liking the suspension thing, With my team being so young I was thinking about doing that or hitting my school with some type of scandal, just dont know which one to do yet! I may wait for this class to graduate and think rock my dynasty with a scandal lolComment

The thing about 40's in High School is everybody is a 4.2 lol I went 4.27, got to college and that quickly turned into a 4.4 lol with an occasional mid 4.3.

I cannot wait for the Kansas game, I hope they arrive 11-0. If Arkansas wins out and I beat KU twice my resume hopefully will get me past UCLA or Ohio State, but I doubt it. (UCLA plays Oregon and TCU, two teams that should finish top 10)Comment

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Pinkle would love to face Rock in BCS National Championship
Missouri's head coach Gary Pinkle would love to face former defensive coordinator Johnny Rock and his Ohio State Buckeyes (#1 Harris, #2 Coaches, #2 BCS) for the BCS National Championship.
"Without a doubt, I mean he is one of the best defensive minds I have ever seen. Yeah his defenses give up points, but have you ever noticed they never gave up more than the offense could cover. At Missouri we were a heavy 4-3 team when he entered, but we always were defense first then offense, and it's only now we are starting to see his recruits and the guys he worked with making themselves into star players. Our defense today is his, he built it, and then his former colleague has taken it over himself."
Joey Davis, Missouri's current DC, had comments himself. "To be quite honest, he is a smart guy. Yeah the last 3 years were not the brightest defensive efforts ever, but did you ever see anyone besides two schools really take advantage of Missouri's defense one he implemented his system? Kansas and Boise State are systems, they develop a very effective passing game, and it worked. They are the only two teams to beat Missouri the last 44 games, and both were close offensive games. I built on the talent he recruited, in fact everyone here now that starts got his stamp of approval. Notice nobody has really exploited our secondary? That's his talent for recruiting and my defensive plans. Arkansas, the best passing team in the nation, had to rely on their running game to move the ball consistently on us. Short story, I would love to stack my defense up against his offense, and I would love to see MU/OSU in the BCS National Championship."

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
#1 Tigers to much for LonghornsWhile the stadium was packed with over 98,000 fans, and most of them were rooting for the fall of the #1 Tigers, there was just too much talent and drive for the top ranked Missouri Tigers to fall to the 2-5 Texas Longhorns.
Missouri started the game with a unique twist, they ran the ball down Texas's throat with little passing on the first drive, going up 7-0.
Texas responded by starting a nice little drive but choked on 3rd and 6 when Moore got in the way of a pass and forced 4th down.
Moore stepped up big in the secondary
Missouri kept chipping away on offense, and their defense held. Early on Texas got into the red zone three times, including right before halftime. Missouri faced 1st and goal from the 1 yard line, but S. Ray broke through the line on the first play and sacked C. Wood for a loss of 3. The defensive front held and secondary did not let them down, and Texas had to settle for 20 yard chipshot to make it 21-3. Missouri responded with a quick 73 yard drive capped off by J. Ross catching a 23 yard pass and waltzing it into the endzone, giving Missouri and commanding 28-3 lead as halftime approached.
J. Ross had a great day receiving with 5 catches and 2 TD
Missouri's wicked defense kept pouring it on the second half, and for good reason, their offense stopped making it into the endzone. Missouri's only second half score was on a 1 yard option run by E. Torres with 3:43 left in the fourth quarter that was set up by a pick by K. Hall, but it did not matter as Missouri won handily 35-3.
Harris slams a Longhorn hard, letting them know there is a price for playing the Tigers
K. Hall gets Missouri into great field position with his 4th quarter pick
A. Roach made people forget about D. Washington with a sweet INT late in the fourth quarter in the endzone to prevent a Texas touchdown
Missouri POTG: E. Torres 22/35 for 313 yards and 3 TD, 9 carries for 24 yards and another TD
S. Ray had 8 tackles, 6 TFL, and 3 sacks
A. Roach, B. Moore, and K. Hall had 4, 6, and 5 tackles respectively and 1 INT apiece

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Weekend results, Polls, Analysis
There were several upsets, but none was bigger than #10 TCU beating #5 UCLA. Now UCLA might have been #5 but based on their schedule, had they beaten TCU odds are they would have leaped to #2 in at least the Harris poll, odds are likely they would have also been #2 in the Coaches Poll due to being a Pacific-12 team.
This leaves Ohio State, Missouri, Kansas, South Florida, Boise State, and Navy as the only remaining undefeated FBS football squads. Missouri and Kansas benefit the most. Most likely USF and Boise State will not leap an undefeated Big XII champion, especially since an undefeated Big XII Champion would have to have beaten either #3 or #2 twice in three weeks, so two wins over top 10 competition right at the end of the season.
Nobody knows where each team stands in the BCS, but everyone is project Ohio State #1, Missouri #2, and Kansas #3. Most have USF at #4 although some are saying Boise is #4. Oregon is the consensus #6, and TCU #7. This is intriguing, although should be accurate since Oregon did defeat TCU not that long ago. However, TCU defeated UCLA who beat Oregon. Luckily if TCU and Oregon win out we can have our rematch in the PAC-12 title game!
Ohio State has a rough schedule left, they still have to play #12 Wisconsin (6-1), at #11 Penn State (6-1), and then finish the season at home against #13 Michigan (5-2).
Missouri has teams at or above .500 teams left. Oklahoma (4-4), Army (6-2), and at #3 Kansas (7-0).
Kansas has to go to Oklahoma State (5-3), host KSU (4-3), go to Arizona (4-2), host Baylor (5-2), and then host #2 Missouri (6-0).
USF only has two winning teams left to face, hosting Pittsburg (4-2) and Cincinnati (4-2).
Boise State still has to travel to Baylor (5-2), Nevads (5-3), and New Mexico (4-3). Their only home game left in UNLV (1-7).
Navy hosts Notre Dame (4-4), goes to Wake Forest (3-5), hosts SDSU (0-7), and finishes the season hosting Army (6-2).
Navy has the easiest schedule left, but nobody is guaranteed to finish undefeated.

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Matchup Preview *|* November 1, 2014 @ Oklahoma Sooners
(4-4, Away)#2 Missouri Tigers
(6-0, 2-0 Home)Game Notes In this historic rivalry, there have been multiple long winning streaks, all by Oklahoma. Missouri has only had three winning streaks against Oklahoma, and they are currently in their longest one ever.
Missouri is on a 4 game winning streak against OU, and looking at the records is heading for win #5 in a row. This all started in 2010 in Missouri when then #1 Oklahoma fell to the Tigers.
Missouri's last winning streak against the Sooners ('65/66) ended when the Sooners beat them 7-0 enroute to a #3 AP ranking and a 10-1 record. Missouri doesn't plan on their streak ending this weekend, but you never know when facing Oklahoma.
Missouri has a stingy defense lately on points, but yards have still been given up. ASU and Michigan have exposed Missouri's defense, so look for the Sooners to have a game plan.
Early projections: Missouri 27, Oklahoma 17

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Tigers use 21-8 fourth quarter to beat upset minded Sooners
Rivals have a way of ruining seasons for teams. The better your year, the more they want to beat you and spoil it. Take Oklahoma. They were 4-4, on their way to a mid-tier bowl at best. But for 3 quarters they kept the #2 team in the nation on their toes, and had it not been for an untimely fumble and interception the game might have turned out differently.
Missouri took a 10-0 lead early on, but B. Williams broke free and 84 yards later it was a 10-7 ball game.
B. Williams was a major player in this rivalry matchup
Missouri kept trying to break the game wide open, but their defense could not stop Williams, who kept running it downhill, and got the Sooners ahead 14-10 early in the second period.
B. Williams gets Oklahoma a 14-10 lead with this rushing TD
Missouri kept pushing, and went into the fourth quarter ahead 31-27. M. Wilson scooped up a forced fumble and got Missouri great field position which got them a 38-27 lead with 6:50 left in the game.
M. Wilson scoops up the fumble that gets Missouri some breathing room
Oklahoma tried to make it close again, but K. Hall intercepted a picture perfect pass and returned it for 6. And with a 45-27 lead Missouri was destined to stay ahead for good.
K. Hall once again puts his touch on a game with a key INT for a pick 6
Missouri POTG: E. Torres 26-38 for 310 yards and a 4 TD, 0 int, and 12 carries for 49 yards and a TD
D. Steele had 31 touches for 156 yards and a TD
K. Hall had 8 tackles, 1 INT, 1 defensive TD, and 1 FF
Oklahoma POTG: B. Williams had 20 carries for 213 yards and 2 TD
E. Humphrey had 14 tackles, 3 sacks, and 9 TFL

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
#1 Ohio State Falls, who will be #1??#12 Wisconsin (7-1) just threw a giant monkey wrench into the BCS standings that are due out tomorrow evening.
The Badgers defeated the #1 team in the BCS soundly 35-10, which means there will be a new #1. Odds are Missouri takes that spot unanimously, as voters and computers alike seem to have little respect for the undefeated and defending national champion Kansas Jayhawks.
With Notre Dame throttling Navy there are 4 undefeated teams left.
Missouri: 7-0 with wins over two currently ranked squads (#13 & #14), 4 of their 7 opponents are above .500, and one of those opponents has only lost to #14 Arkansas (8-1), #2 Missouri (7-0), and #3 Kansas (8-0). One ranked opponent left (#3 Kansas)
Kansas: 8-0 with no wins over ranked competition. Only two wins over teams that are above .500. Defending national champions. One ranked opponent left (#2 Missouri)
USF: 7-0 with 3 wins over competition above .500, no wins over ranked opponents. Only one winning opponent left (Cincinnati (4-2))
Boise State: 8-0 with one win over ranked competition (1 loss #15 Fresno State). 2 wins over teams above .500, and have 3 teams with winning records left.
Missouri and Kansas are likely to take #1/#2, but the big question is if they all win out until Missouri plays Kansas, who takes over #2 when one of those two arch-rivals fall?

Coaches Top 25, BCS Top 10
As expected Missouri was the unanimous #1, Kansas #2, and USF #3 in all the major polls. Unless something unexpected happens between now and November 29th, expect the top 4 to remain the same.
There are a ton of good 1 loss teams out there.
The Big 10 Leaders division is loaded with #8 Ohio State, #10 Wisconsin, #12 Penn State, and #17 Rutgers all 7-1. Penn State has yet to play any of the other three, who have all beaten each other. If the other three all win out it will be up to the BCS to decide who faces the Legends division winner for the Big 10 title.

Matchup Preview | November 8, 2014 @ Army Black Knights
(6-2, 4-0 Away)#1 Missouri Tigers
(7-0, 3-0 Home)Game Notes Missouri leads the series 3-1 all time, their only loss a 22-6 loss in 1971.
Missouri and Army have not played since their 1981/1982 series, which Missouri swept 2-0.
Army is running the dangerous option and has a very quick quarterback and halfback combination. However, the Tigers defense is strong and usually very good against the run unless they need to also focus on the pass. Unless Army can cause Missouri to protect against the pass expect 8 in the box the entire game, and as talented as Missouri is that means few yards.
Projection: Missouri 44, Army 14Comment

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty
Tigers to play LSU in Chick Fil'A Kickoff for 2015
The Big XII's battle with the SEC continues, as one of the Big XII's best will kickoff the 2015 season against one of the most talent laden teams in the SEC, LSU. While this year LSU is not at the top of the charts they have a lot of young talent that looks to make them hard to beat next year, in what will most likely be a meeting of two top 5 teams.
Missouri's 2015 schedule is half full, with 2 teams left to schedule. Apparently the Army/Missouri series might continue and not just be a one-off for this year.
Missouri and USC have apparently been talking about a home and home, or a single game between them at a neutral sight. If it comes about we could be looking at USC vs Missouri game in the Rose Bowl Stadium in 2015 or 2016. Stanford is also on the list, due to Missouri wanting to get rid of their 0-1 record vs Stanford from the 1971 season where they got walloped 19-0.
Missouri is also apparently in talks with Rice and North Texas. While some fans may scoff at the idea of playing a weak OOC opponent, the truth is Missouri has not backed down at scheduling anyone lately, so a weak opponent would be a chance for fans to enjoy beating up a non-conference foe without so much at stake.Comment
