After several days of work, I've managed to correctly sim every real life game so far. This means that every game from week 1 to week 7 has the correct winner and loser in my franchise, which also means my standings are exactly like real life.
Obviously the stats aren't going to be perfect...there's no way to do that, especially with players who are now on IR. But with the newest roster (and me making the changes that have happened since, like Rosenfels/Lowman and other cuts, IRs, etc), I should be able to take the game as it stands in the real world today and see who goes to the Superbowl, who gets Andrew Luck, etc. I plan to continue with this franchise until Madden 2013 comes out, so we'll see how it goes!
I'll be using my own real-name draft classes, and including NCAA headlines such as conference moves, Heisman winners, etc. I'll be controlling all 32 teams, picking up players off free agency, handling trades, running the first two rounds of the drafts, resigning/cutting players, and also deleting all made-up players. I may allow made-up players after 2013, since they're all made up at that point anyway, but I'll still be using the NCAA classes.
Comments are always welcome and encouraged, including constructive criticism. If you want to ask a coach or player a question, I'll have a press conference where I answer it. If you have any ideas on how to make this a more interesting franchise, I'm happy to hear it!
EDIT: This was all written after week 7 of the 2011 season. Obviously, from here on out, all bets are off. ;c)
EDIT 2: I hit the wrong button, advancing way too far into the future. Whoopserdoozle! That's okay though since we were only on week 8. Restarting, with a new vision. This will be told from the Steelers standpoint, but still feature all the previous things (real life standings from week 7, realistic moves, all teams treated equally, etc etc)
