Who Will UWF Select?
Committee Narrows list down to six

PENSACOLA, FL (AP) - The University of West Florida has narrowed their Head Coaching search down to six canidates, one of which will have the opportunity to leave his mark and set the foundation of a first year football program at the University of West Florida. The canidates vary widely from Defensive Back coach Clay Jennings who is a young, enthusiastic, and intense defensive minded coach from TCU to Brent Davis the offensive coordinator who brought the triple option to Georgia Southern. One thing is clear; head coaching experience wasn't a high priority on the list.

"We were looking at canidates that we felt were excited to be able to receive the opportunity to leave their stamp on this school", said Athletic Director David Scott. "We looked at the best educators in the business from a variety of backgrounds and feel that we have several personalities and styles that could be great fits for the future of our football program."

West Florida plans to name the Head Coach before the New Year. The Argonauts will start competing in football in August of 2011.

Going to start this here soon. Will probably start a new thread once a Head Coach is selected, figured I'd use a poll to see what type of offensive/defensive combination people would like to see in trying to take a cupcake to a 6 star. Will probably start as a independent or in the Sun Belt as a probationary member.

Will probably do most of the stuff through a website if I get it up, plenty of pictures, articles, and even working on video. Would like to make this as interactive as possible and really wanted something to work on multimedia and NCAA wise.

Alright about ready to start this thing. Website is now up, there may be a couple things that are buggy but doing this because I wanted to make NCAA football interesting and sharpen up my media skills.

I'll post weekly update links to the website, which may be kind of annoying as I'm not going to post the image style reports directly to the forum. Forum will be a place to discuss. I may take this or a different post on the front page to make an index for each year, but the way the site is set up it should be fine.

January - Frank Cignetti named West Florida's first Head Coach.

April - West Florida Completes Spring Practice with first full scrimmage. Blue and White Game. Complete with Pictures and Video Highlights.

June - Fall Preview. Complete preview of the inaugural UWF Football season.

August - West Florida prepares for first game as a FBS Independent school against Florida International.
