Wow, 15 players on probation. You might want to think about letting the CPU handle the tutoring (Thats what I do...had 7 my first year).

Also, wished I had gone to a playoff system before I started. Oh well, too late for me, but hope you get in at some point.

What do OLB Isaac Williams (defensive captain), DE Tommy Craig (team leader in sacks), and WR Michael Wright (TD leader) have in common?

They're all suspended because of their grades. Not how I wanted to begin my Friday. It's going to be a long year...

Only three suspensions, so I think I handled the tutoring pretty well. My DE had no chance of NOT being suspended. His GPA was atrocious.

That's what is great about this game. So many things happen during the season you just can't prepare for. Getting ready to play VT, and I got to deal with a players personnel problem.

            Dad,

We lost 23-10. Here are some numbers that paint a pretty vivid picture:
            • 11 penalties for 95 yards
            • 6 dropped passes
            • 2 turnovers
            • QB R. Sweeney led the team in rushing with 38 yards

Every big play was brought back because of penalties. We didn't score our one touchdown until the 4th quarter. And we only scored that because of a turnover.

Will you please come to Montana and put me out of my misery?

            - Pax

PS: I had 5 defensive players leave the game due to injury, and none of them returned to the game. All but one of them seem like they're OK. My team lacks heart and talent.

Yeah, I'm loving it so far. So much depth in the out-of-game stuff. The play calling could use some more functionality, though. I would love (LOVE!) to be able to call for press coverage on defense.

Ahhh...that explanes why so many injures. The game just doesn't do a very good job when you actually call the game yourself. Its ok...but for me I seem to get better results with coming up with a gameplan/playbook and turn it over to the CPU.

Either way...good luck. Was going to try to get my game in, but got to get ready for work tomorrow.

                      Dad,

We play at San Jose State this weekend. They haven't won a game either, but Vegas is favoring them by 12. Looks like someone is catching on to how bad we are.

Practice has gone surprisingly well this week. We're installing more option plays in the offense. I need to keep the ball in Roger Sweeney's hands. He's the only player on offense capable of making plays.

I moved some of my wideouts around, too. I've got a 6'5" true freshman who's earned the right to starter snaps at the 3rd WR spot.

                      Gotta go teach a class.

Does that mean you're just simming the game? Like you don't even hop into the individual games? Or do you open the individual games, but let the CPU call plays and "watch"?

What I have done is created a playbook and use that for my games. This way, I have set the plays I want to run in certain situations. You set the percentage of how often you want to run the play. For instance, I run to the left side 70% of the time because that is the strength of my OL. Breaking it down further, as to what plays to run...again giving each a percentage.

I tried to play the game...call each play. But, the more and more I got into actually creating a game plan...the more I got involved.

                            Dad,

We lost again. This time, it was 27-15. We hit 5 FG, but couldn't find the endzone. We did manage 326 yards, though. That's a drastic improvement. I guess.

My senior tailback Carl Deleon took 24 carries for 57 yards. It's sad that I'm so excited for 57 yards, but it's so much better than what we'd been getting before.

Sweeney threw for 247 and rushed for another 11. I wish I could get this kid some help.

We play Florida Atlantic next week. They're a 12 point favorite at home. Things are not looking up.

... we won't win a game. We lost 24-7 this weekend. We had 3 turnovers and only managed to convert on ONE 3rd down. Not going to win many games like that.

At what point do I take the blame for this season? There's a solid chance I won't be coaching football next year. I really need to turn this game around.

PS: My 6'5" freshman WR scored our only touchdown. He caught 3 passes for 76 yards. Maybe I have something to look forward to next year.
