Re: Rebuilding the Fear - Oakland Raiders M13 CCM
I think of Martens was healthy, we'd be able to. But the backup QBs eventually played like backups and one the rare days our defense falters, couldn't ball control or outgun the other offense.
I think I'm going to be shopping Schumacher in the offseason. There's a kid I like that seems like he'd make a good backup."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

His own, check out the Madden Slider set thread.

Re: Rebuilding the Fear - Oakland Raiders M13 CCM
Yes and no on the pressure question.
Yes in that Bullock got the most sacks with 22. No in that ALL the LBs and a few of the DBs get pressure and have sacks. Suh got one where he looped inside and came in untouched in the last game. A lot of pressure often comes from middle blitzes as well.
There's an issue, but I think the best pass rusher should go RE (i.e. best moves and athleticism) since it is easier for the LE. That said, Cosbert got 6 sacks real quick, and then did nothing until I had enough, and Bullock was a non-factor last game. Like 1 tackle and no sacks or pressure, even with 2 consistency.
That's why I say "yes and no".Last edited by KBLover; 05-14-2013, 01:25 PM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Rebuilding the Fear - Oakland Raiders M13 CCM
I can count on one hand the number of times we scored 31 and lost.
For the QB, I'm planning to shop Schumacher. Not sure what I want in particular, but he's too young to just cut, but I don't want him any more. As for the target, I'm looking at QB Kip Ricketts out of Arizona. I mentioned him in an early scouting segment. He seems to have a good arm (like Martens/Schumacher), decent DAC grade (B, I believe), and is Ideal/Ideal/Yes in Force Passes/Sense Pressure/Throw Spiral.
Ricketts would be #2 or #3 depending on if I keep Flynn or pick him up again if he tests the market."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

No changes to confirm at this point. I'm testing pushing run blocking to 41 (was 39) but not sure if I'll keep it or not.

Thoughts on that?
Yeah, I did, too, as they have a lot of the games after Martens went down - but you know the playoffs - one bad day and you're playing golf in the winterI can count on one hand the number of times we scored 31 and lost.

Re: Rebuilding the Fear - Oakland Raiders M13 CCM
2017 Offseason Begins
The Raiders find themselves in a negative cap situation, sitting $13 M over the salary cap. As a result, the team couldn't do what they had hoped in trying to talk with players like Cedric Robins or Matt Flynn. In addition, the team might have to cut other veterans as well.
Fortunately, most of the core team is under contract, so the damage may be to the depth of the team more than anything else, which could have impacts going into the season.
Stage #1
Retirements:
WR Greg Jennings (IND)
HB Ryan Grant
Franchise Tags:
DAL: TE Jason Witten
ATL: LB Elvis Dumervil (no faxgate here)
Brett Favring It:
HB Frank Gore returns to the active player pool.
Rejections:
TB: Jaquante Wright refused terms.
Raiders Contracts:
None can be tendered as the team is over cap. Notables among them are HB Steven Grant, who'll look to restart his career, and LB Cedric Robins, perhaps showing he can still play to prospective suitors.
Stage #2
Retirements:
QB Eli Manning (NYG)
TE Antonio Gates (SD)
Franchise Tags:
Ladarius Webb (BAL)
Matt Scifres (JAX)
Brandon Albert (KC)
Coaching changes:
Both the Super Bowl participants made coaching changes. Eagles bring in Jeff Fisher while the Browns go with Billy Guyton from the college ranks.
Raiders release the following players:
LB K.J. Wright
QB Colin Kaepernick
RT Gabe Carimi
Raiders trade WR Sidney Rice to Packers for 2019 5th round pick.
Trade block:
QB Schumacher, MLB Jake Olsen, SS Tyvon Branch have all been reportedly added to the trading block.
No tender offers from the Raiders as they are still $2 M over the cap. Some rumors swirling about Patrick Peterson being available, though no comment from the team.

There were some other guys I wanted to move, like Branch, but the penalty would have been more than the contract. Maybe once the season turns over, it will make more sense."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment
