      Thanks!

All-Madden default sliders with 15 minute quarters and accelerated clock to 15 seconds is what I'm using. I also started out with the year end career rosters that just came out a couple of weeks ago.

Another Week, Another Blown Lead for the Browns

Just like last week, the Browns blew another big lead on the road on the way to an overtime loss against the Titans. The Browns led 30-12 going into the 4th quarter and the Titans run game was too much for Cleveland to handle. Capped off by a 37 yard touchdown pass from David Garrard to Kendall Wright, the Titans managed a 91 yard drive in the closing moments of regulation to send the game to OT. The two teams battled for field position for the majority of overtime when rookie quarterback, Stacey Knight made a costly mistake in Titans' territory with just a few minutes left on the clock in OT. A Knight pass intended for Danny Amendola was picked off by Titans' safety, Jordan Babineaux. On the very next play, Titans running back, Tashard Choice scampered 77 yards for a touchdown and a walkoff win. It was very disheartening for the Browns faithful, to say the least.

Browns and Mack Agree to 5 Year Extension

On the heels of the heartbreaking loss in Tennessee yesterday, the Browns have announced that they have agreed to a 5 year contract extension with center, Alex Mack. The deal is said to be worth a total of 25 million dollars with around 8 million guaranteed. Mack had a short and sweet press conference this morning where he said, "I'm happy to be a part of this team for the long haul, but we need to get back to work out there and win some games for this city and our fans." Well said, young man. Well said indeed.

Richardson Cleared to Begin Football Activities, Probable for this Sunday

In what couldn't have come at a better time, Browns second year running back, Trent Richardson, was cleared by doctors and the training staff to return to practice this week. Richardson, who was a limited participant in practice today told the media, "I'm glad to be back out there with the rest of the guys. It feels good to finally get some contact in this season." Richardson missed all but the first play of the preseason with a minor abdominal tear and says that the injury shouldn't be an issue going forward. When we asked the team doctor if he would require surgery in the offseason, he said, "Absolutely not." This news bodes well for Browns fans nationwide.

Haden Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Despite losing to the Tennessee Titans this past Sunday, Browns cornerback, Joe Haden was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Haden picked off Titans' quarterback, David Garrard, twice in the contest, including returning one 40 yards for a touchdown. He also added 4 tackles and only allowed 2 receptions for a total of 19 yards in the entire game which lasted nearly a full 5 quarters.

Browns Comeback Effort Comes Up Short in Overtime Thriller

In the Browns home opener, the shoe was on the other foot. Having blown large second half leads the last two games, this time it was Cleveland who faced a 21 point deficit heading into the 4th quarter. That's when three big plays in the final 10 minutes of the contest turned the tide in the Browns favor. Trailing 38-17 with just under 10 minutes to play, Josh Cribbs returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown to make it 38-24. The Browns defense then held strong and forced a three and out. Incredibly, Cribbs proceeded to return the following punt for another touchdown to make it 38-31 with around 8 minutes to play. The teams then swapped punts and then Stacey Knight connected with Danny Amendola for a 79 yard catch and run touchdown score with just over 2 minutes left to play. It was then on to overtime where the Bengals won the toss, elected to receive and the Browns never touched the ball again. Andy Dalton led them on a 5:00 drive capping it off with an 11 yard touchdown strike to tight end, Jermaine Gresham, to seal the win for the Bengals.

Gordon Dislocates Elbow, Sidelined for a Month

If things couldn't get any worse for the Browns after starting the season off at 0-3, they just did. In the wake of the return of running back Trent Richardson, the Browns have announced that second year wide receiver, Josh Gordon, dislocated his elbow in the game against Cincinnati yesterday. The team doctor thinks it will take him a month before he will be able to get back on the field. We will keep you informed of his status as more information comes in.

                    Browns Pick Up First Win

On an unseasonably hot day in Cleveland, the Browns picked up their first victory of the year by defeating the visiting Arizona Cardinals to improve to 1-3 on the year. The Browns did a fantastic job chewing up the clock, as they already had possession of the football for nearly 30 minutes after three quarters of play fueled by Trent Richardson's 22 total touches for 133 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Frankly, the Cardinals didn't have much of a chance in this one, despite the best efforts of their new quarterback and former Houston Texan, Matt Schaub. The Browns sorely needed this victory heading into their BYE week.

                      Ward Signs Four Year Extension

More good news for Browns fans on the heels of their first victory of the season. We have just been informed by general manager, Bill Polian, that the Browns have signed safety, T.J. Ward to a four year extension. The deal is worth a total of 12 million dollars, with 4 million of it being guaranteed money. Not a bad pay day for the hard-hitting Ward, whose aggressive play has made him a fan favorite in Cleveland. Now, let's hope he doesn't spend all that new found income during the BYE week!

                        BYE week coaches conference:

Dixon: "Our run defense just isn't cutting it. What do you think the problem is?"

Minnifield: "Well, with both of our starting defensive ends being pure pass rushers, we are getting killed on the outside runs, tosses and sweeps due to our outside linebackers not being very physical."

Dixon: "We need to find a solution to this problem as soon as possible. Our defense has been shredded by the run in all three of our losses."

Minnifield: "Maybe we can bring Ward up closer more often for run support since I trust our corners to lock it down. But then again, it is the outside runs that are beating us so often. We are doing a terrific job up the middle at stopping the run though as Rubin and Taylor and controlling the line of scrimmage and Laurinaitis is stuffing anything that gets through the first level, which isn't much."

Dixon: "Fair enough. Get those outside linebackers some work this week at defending those outside runs."

                        Minnifield: "Will do, Coach."

Dixon: "The offense has looked pretty solid, at least the passing game. You were absolutely right about this Knight kid being the real deal, Jon. However, the running game has lacked and even though we were without Richardson for the first two games, we should have been able to do a much better job running that ball. What seems to be the problem?"

Gruden: "Truth be told, I think Trent is still a little bit hurt from his injury. We aren't getting the best play out of the left guard or right tackle positions either, though. Onkka has looked solid at right guard, however, and I expect him to keep progressing as the year goes on. Thomas and Mack have been fantastic as expected, as has Marecic at fullback."

Dixon: "Let's try to get that ground game going in practice this week. We're up against a tough Texans defense and it would be a nice advantage to try to get a ground game going to open up the pass for Knight."

                        Gruden: "You've got it, Coach."

Dixon: "Alright, let Greg Little know he is getting the start at receiver while Gordon is out for the next few games as well and let's keep Amendola in the slot where he has worked so great thus far."

Gruden: "Absolutely. I wouldn't even think of moving Amendola out of the slot. He's like our poor-man's version of Wes Welker out there this year. What a terrific signing."

Dixon: "Okay, gentlemen. That covers everything I wanted to go over. Let's get everyone prepared for Houston and keep everyone healthy in the process."

Texans Running Game a Little Too Much for the Browns

Fresh off their BYE week, the Browns lost another close game to go to 1-4 on the year. Once again, the run defense was the Achilles heel for the Browns as they surrendered another 200+ yards on the ground en route to a 23-20 loss at Cleveland Browns Stadium. The Browns also had trouble getting a ground attack of their own going in the contest as they were held to just 65 rushing yards as a team. Despite their troubles with the running game on both sides of the ball, Cleveland was very much alive in the game all the way down to the final gun where Texans kicker, Justin Tucker, nailed a 47 yard field goal right down the middle as time expired.

Rookie Guard Injured in Texans Game, Out for 4-6 Weeks

As if the Browns hadn't had enough trouble running the ball all year, we are sad to report that rookie guard, Drew Onkka, who left the Texans game late in the 4th quarter will be out for 4-6 weeks with a foot fracture. The second round pick in this year's draft had been the only bright spot on the offensive line besides the two mainstays, Joe Thomas and Alex Mack. According to team officials, third year guard, Jason Pinkston, will be starting in place of Onkka with veteran, John Greco, also getting some reps. In any event, this news does not bode well for an already anemic Browns running game.

Steelers Manhandle Browns, Sack Knight 5 Times in Win

In an absolutely embarrassing performance, the Browns dropped their second game in a row, both at home, coming off of their BYE week. This time it was to their hated rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who improve to 4-3 on the year while the Browns are now at 1-5. While Joe Haden almost completely shut down play-making wide receiver, Mike Wallace (1 reception for 15 yards) it was indeed Wallace that opened up the floodgates with a 74 yard touchdown run on a reverse on the second play from scrimmage. It was all downhill for the Browns from there, as they were forced to abandon the run from the onset. Pittsburgh's defense did allow rookie quarterback Stacey Knight to throw for 347 yards, but they made him pay by sacking him 5 times in the process. In the end, the Steelers were just much too physical on both sides of the ball this time around. Cleveland is in deep trouble if these type of performances continue, that's for sure.

                                Cribbs Breaks Collarbone, Out Indefinitely

The injuries keep piling up for the Browns, this time to All-Pro return specialist and fan favorite, Josh Cribbs. Midway through the third quarter of the game against the Steelers yesterday, Cribbs caught a Stacey Knight pass over the middle and was lit up by Pittsburgh linebacker, LaMarr Woodley. The two players' helmets made slight contact and Cribbs fell awkwardly on his shoulder, breaking his collarbone in the process. It looked to be a clear personal foul on the play, but no flag was thrown. League officials say they are going to review the play and decide whether or not Woodley will face any punishment for the hit. There is no timetable available regarding Cribbs' return to action at press time, but we will keep you informed as this story develops.
