Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
I simmed the first year with the Bills so I could start in the offseason rather than the preseason. I lost my NCAA roster file and don't want to have random names of current NCAA players in my franchise so here goes.PSN:BrrbisBrrTags: None -
Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
Buffalo, New York
New Owner Buys Buffalo
After the health problems of Ralph Wilson, he had no choice but to sell the Buffalo Bills. A long search ensued as Mr. Wilson wanted to find the right fit for the football team and it's daily operations. It seems to have found that owner in Richard Jones, a local inventor and huge football fan. Today the sale was announced to the media and Jones got a steal. For the sum of 46 million he gets to make all of the football decisions and as per the agreement, it's solely his team.
Ralph Wilson's tenure with the Bills is over and he had this to say. "I've had a lot of great memories with this team, the city, the wins, the losses and everything that has happened. I want to thank every fan of this team and just wish I could do it personally. I'm sad to have things end up this way but with my health the way it is, I decided to sell the team to someone who has more time to devote to it."
Jones had this to comment, "I'm very proud to be the owner of this organization and it's history. They've had lots of great teams and great players. I thank Mr. Wilson for his hard work not only with this team but with this city and I vow to everyone to make this team something the people of Buffalo will be proud of." Jones said he will not talk about football decisions at this time as he has yet to see the roster or met with coaches.PSN:BrrbisBrr -
Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
New Owner Holds First Presser
Richard Jones held his first press conference to discuss football operations. Everyone was skeptical as the Bills were coming off a 10-6 season and a first round loss to the division rival Jets. Jones stated that there was a change needed at the quarterback position. On whether JP Losman would be the starter, "We will have to see who's available where we are drafting or who is available in free agency." Another focus in the offseason will be the running back position, Willis McGahee had 1990 yards but carried the ball for 95% of the carries.
On the defensive side Jones stated, "I hope we can keep most of the guys. They played really well from just looking at the stats but we will see how the offseason goes." As far as coaching, which is everyone's expertise, Jones said "I still haven't had a chance to meet with them. That will come this week." That's all for this week!PSN:BrrbisBrrComment

Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
Buffalo Bills 2007 Draft Coverage
Welcome everyone to the draft! The Bills current needs are on the offensive line, a franchise quarterback (especially if David Carr struggles) and depth at Running Back. A lot of rumors swirling around Buffalo's draft position. Reports say they have their eye on Marc Swan from Georgia. He's a speed back that ran a 4.34 at the combine. He also has good size at 5'10 201 pounds. Their seems to be only one franchise quarterback available in this year's draft according to experts. That would be Charles Gray out of Auburn. The only knock on Gray is his size. At 5'11 193 a lot of scouts wonder if his body can make it through a season in the NFL. It looks like a good year for Strong Safeties as a handful are expected to be taken in the first round.
The wild card in the mix could be Maryland Tight End K.C. Small. He's 6'7" 275 pounds and ran a 4.55 40 yard dash at the combine. There are also several first day picks in the trenches for the Bills to choose from.
I'm hearing of the first trade from the Bills today. JP Losman and the Bills 2nd round pick to KC for their first (#26). The Bills move up a spot and get rid of Losman who lost his spot when David Carr was signed. This gives the Bills the 24th and 26th pick in the draft.
Here is the list of Bills picks:
Buffalo 2007 Draft Pick Player College Pos Ht Wt #24 Kevin Robbins Colorado TE 6'2 255 #26 Phil Warrick FSU HB 5'9" 207 #68 Kendall Williams Northwestern DT 6'2" 300 #88 Spencer Williams Penn State WR/TE 6'5" 245 #120 Raymont Finley Notre Dame LT 6'4" 298 #152 Mike Carson Fresno State FB 5'11 244 #185 London Smith Southern Miss QB 6'5 248 #217 Blake Hamilton Boston College CB 5'11" 196
Kevin Robbins might be the steal of the draft as he was previously projected to go in the top 10. A lot of scouts did not like his height, but Bills front office said he looked good on tape and could be another weapon on offense to lighten the load on McGahee.PSN:BrrbisBrrComment

Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
Buffalo Bills Training Camp Outlook
Coach Dick Jauron almost cracked a smile when asked about his offense. He is excited to have a qb who has been through the ropes but is young enough to develop. He praises the front office for drafting a lot of good rookies and wonders if Phil Warrick will challenge for the starting running back job.
On defense, he's still happy because not a lot changed. They added a new Defensive Tackle and picked up veteran OLB Anthony Simmons. Jauron wouldn't say how many games he thought they would win, but given the right circumstances and bounces he thought Buffalo could have a better record than their 10-6 performance last season.PSN:BrrbisBrrComment

Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
Bills Fight off Second Half Blues for Win!
The season got off to a good start for Buffalo as they pick up the win over Baltimore, 29-21. The Bills started off hot on both sides of the ball as they took a 19-0 lead into the half. Baltimore woke up after halftime, cutting the deficit to 5 after a 29 yard touchdown pass on 3rd down from Steve McNair. That made the score 26-21. Buffalo came back on their next possession and got a field goal after a long completion from David Carr to Eric Moulds.
Stan Fayson had a huge game for the Ravens, scoring two touchdowns. One of the touchdowns was on an electrifying 75 yard run where he blew past the Buffalo defense. He's going to be one to watch in the future. Neil Rackers was clutch, nailing 5 field goals after Buffalo stalled quite a few drives. Buffalo struggled on both sides of the ball after half time but got a couple of key stops. The first was an interception across the middle by Ko Simpson, the second was on the last drive for the Ravens, as Buffalo stopped them short on 4th down.

Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
When I first played Baltimore, I was wondering how Ciatrick Fayson got so beastly and chalked it up to random EA BS. After doing the boxscore, it was a generated rookie, Stan Fayson rated an 85 with 89 speed and a 94 break tackle rating. It's amazing how some of the randomly generated rookies have good stats. He was the 3rd pick in the draft.
Also, the qb I wanted to draft who went #1 overall is rated an 87 with 90 thp and 94 tha. He also has a 78 awareness. Good thing he plays in Oakland. I also forgot about the radio show on this game. It's nothing breath taking but it is nice to hear and it was a good addition. It certainly is better than most of the music they put on the game. I even liked the radio announcer they had on the early Maddens for the current gen. I wish they would give us the option to have it.Last edited by Cletus; 08-22-2013, 10:40 AM.PSN:BrrbisBrrComment

Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
Week 2 Preview
VS
The Bills come into week two having defeated the Baltimore Ravens. The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Jaguars by a score of 29-7. In week 1, KC managed a meager 188 yards on offense while allowing 474 to Jacksonville. Byron Leftwich knifed up the secondary completing 22 of 36 passes for 290 yards. The Chiefs did manage to get 2 interceptions.
Buffalo started out hot last week, then fizzled to the point of turning a sure blowout into a close game. The Bills will face former quarterback JP Losman who was 15 for 30 for 128 yards against Jacksonville. The key to beating the Chiefs is stopping Priest Holmes who led the team in rushing and receiving last week. In order for the Bills to win they will have to play a complete football game and get more consistency from David Carr. For Kansas City to win their offense will have to show up.
My prediction for the game:
Buffalo 27 Kansas City-17
Players to watch- David Carr - Needs to be more consistent
- JP Losman - has to play better
Injuries for the week:
Buffalo- Lee Evans - 1 week
- Chad Morton - Questionable
Kansas City:- Willie Anderson - 9 weeks
- Kendrell Bell - 9 weeks
- Larry Johnson - 5 weeks
- Patrick Ramsey - 4 weeks

Re: Rebuilding the Bills (Madden 07)
Bills Trample Chiefs, Lose Carr
The Buffalo Bills are now 2-0 after the win at Kansas City on Sunday. Buffalo's offense did enough to win, but the defense stole the show. They recorded 7 sacks and save for the big play in the first quarter, held KC's passing game in check. The offense controlled the line of scrimmage and churned out enough points to come up with the win. It wasn't pretty and it became costly.
In the 4th quarter, Buffalo lost qb David Carr for the season. This is another setback in Carr's young career after getting released by his former team. Carr was the first draft pick in Houston Texans history and was trying to get his career going after signing with Buffalo in the offseason. Craig Nall came in to replace him and went 4 for 6 for 71 yards and a touchdown. Coach Jauron spoke about the injury saying, "This is unfortunate for everyone, he was playing his best ball of the year and looked like he might turn the corner." Willis McGahee said he was ready to bear the brunt of the offense, "We were in a situation last year with an unproven quarterback and made the playoffs. We have a few more weapons for Nall this year in the run game and the pass and we'll get there. If that means by the run game, then so be it. I'm ready for an even bigger year."
There is no official word on what the front office planes to do. We spoke to owner Richard Jones about the team's progress. "We're 2 and 0, that's a great start and our offense hasn't fully clicked. I feel bad for David as he was playing better that game, but I have faith in Craig Nall, if I didn't, we wouldn't have him on the roster." As far as rather he would trade for a big name quarterback, he giggled, "Franchise quarterbacks aren't exactly walking around on the street, Johnny Unitas isn't walking through that door. We have a good talent base and I'm not giving that up or a early round draft pick just to salvage one season. We will have to sign someone, but that's the only move I'm going to make."
The Bills look to go 3-0 as the host division rival New England Patriots at 1 pm. Craig Nall is said to have the start against Tom Brady.PSN:BrrbisBrrComment
