The season started off full of surprises for the Jags fans, as team ownership changed hands after only one year in charge for Shahid Khan, selling the team to financial mogul Riley Connelly. The first business move we saw the new owner execute, was announcing the team's relocation to Toronto, Canada next preseason. A fellow canadian himself, Connelly announced that he "thinks the bigger market and a fresh start is exactly what is needed for this team." And that "while next season we will relocate, we still plan on having one hell of a final season here for the fans!"
And one hell of a season they did have...
The Jaguars clinched a playoff spot on the final day of the season by defeating a disappointing Colts team 20-13. Leading the charge for the Jags this season, was veteran HB and this years OPOY Maurice Jones-Drew. We also saw a solid season by rookie QB and preseason acquisition EJ Manuel who captured the OROY.
Manuel was a part of the wave of rookie acquisitions that took place after Connelly took over as owner. Other acquisitions include former LSU Tigers Eric Reid and Barkevious Mingo. Two players who contributed immensely to the 2nd best defense in the NFL. (30th ranked offence.)
Below we will give you a breakdown of the Jaguars season, and how each player performed.
