I'm a huge fan of the tight end position so that JuCo transfer would have me drooling.Comment

Lawson to Church seems to be your future! Should be fun using them. Will Lawson be starting right away?Comment

Solid recruiting class you got. I love athletic fullbacks, and a guy like Bully Filoteo would wreak havoc in my offense. Hope he develops into a stud for you.Who Dey!

Not to hijack Helli's thread but what offense do you run where you utilize a FB?Comment

- JK man... I'm giving you a pass, because I'd like to know the answer too. In my offense I have a ton of I-formation, I have split backs (nice options to carry the ball there) and I will use him a ton in the shotgun formations and just flat out play him at HB a lot of the time too which is his true position. Let us know ksw some of your strategies please. I've always wanted to run a Navy style offense just to see a FB go all Heisman pose...

(1) I'm interested in hearing your answers to the questions posted later under the "but" post.
(2) See you obviously didn't read Coach Clark's soliloquy on the word "but."- JK man... I'm giving you a pass, because I'd like to know the answer too. I use the FB a lot in my offense. In my Tulane dynasty, I'm using a custom playbook I call "Power Spread Option." The bases of that offense are the Ace, I Form, Pistol & Shotgun. I'm a run-heavy guy, so most of my formations are geared toward the run. For example, I love the Maryland I, the Ace "Jumbo Heavy", and the "Wing" formations in the Shotgun. All of those use at least one FB.
I also utilize Formation Subs a lot. Sometimes I'll sub the FB in at RB, other times I'll put him out wide as a blocker. I also have some plays where I'll throw him a screen pass & let him run. You got a 250-lb guy with wheels comin' at you full speed? You better watch out! If you remember Fred Roach from my Tulane dynasty, he was the greatest at this. Finished his career with over 2000 yards, 20 TDs & over 150 pancake blocks.
Rather than derail the thread any further, I'll refer you guys to my write-up in the "Playbook Sharing Thread." It's Post #135. I also have the SimSports link to my playbook there as well.
PS: Hellisan, my offense actually started out as a Navy-style triple option. But as my recruiting at Tulane improved, it evolved into the offense I have today. It's basically a fusion of the offenses Auburn & Kansas State run in real life today.Last edited by kswgrad2012; 01-08-2015, 05:05 PM.Who Dey!

Re: The Coaching Career of J.D. Clark (NCAA 14)
Well first of all he's my starting HB... But I will put him at FB a lot with another pass catching / pass block HB behind him. I should put my playbook on that site like you did, but it's pretty much a combo west coast/pro style playbook. Only 4-5 shotgun sets. Two power pistol sets are the exception to the pro/west coast idea but even in those there is a FB. We won't use those hardly ever now with a statue QB. Other sets making use of the FB include two split back pro style sets, Weak I Normal, 3 different I forms, and one or two of my ace sets. He's sure handed, he blocks well, he seems to run faster than his 81 speed would indicate, and he has all the moves and power you could ask for. Wish this kid was a freshman LOL. I don't believe in redshirting JUCOs unless they clearly won't play but it was tempting to see what he could become with two years of improvement. I will be going through carefully and having him at HB or FB in every formation except for one or two which will be rest formations. I also have two Power I formations and each of them will feature Bully as one of the two FB. So we'll run him 15+ times a game, throw to him a few times, and be glad to have him stepping up and stoning people blocking on the long throws from shotgun.
Highlight from recent practice... lmao this is gonna be fun. Although my backs are always way better in practice, I think it's default varsity or something.

Incredible presentation as always Hellisan.
Love what you're doing with the Vandals and their half can of soup. You got some intriguing house rules as well! Heck of a steal with that QB and TE along with Bully. Can't wait to see how this season goes.Comment
