                  Close Game in Philly

Philadelphia, PA- The Jacksonville Jaguars came into this game with low expectations. With a young team, a rookie quarterback, and no depth to speak of, we knew this would be a blowout. Surprisingly, it wasn't, as the Jags only lost by 12 points, 36-24. The first drive went great. Bortles threw 6-6 for 51 yards and then ran in for a 1 yard TD run. The Eagles got the ball and scored almost immediately. In the 2nd, Bortles rolled out and threw and incomplete pass to Cecil Shorts and as he released the ball, he was demolished. In came Henne and he led the team to halftime down, 23-7. Early on in the 2nd half, Henne went back to pass and was sacked hard and out he came. With no QBs left Jacksonville relied on Bryan Anger, the punter, to lead them. From then on almost every play was a run and it worked fine. With Anger in at QB Jacksonville scored 17 points, which is impressive. The defense was shaky. They played well at times but they overall did not play great, giving up 158 yards to LeSean McCoy. Overall the team exceeded expectations and we will look forward to see how they play next week.

Arby Jones Released, Kevin Kolb Signed

Jacksonville, FL- Defensive tackle Arby Jones has been released today, and the Jaguars have announced they have signed Kevin Kolb who is expected to start this week. Kolb last played with the Bills in 2013 and has previously played for the Cardinals and the Eagles. Kolb has been signed because of the injuries to quarterbacks Blake Bortles and Chad Henne. We do not know if he will stay on the team when they both recover, but i do assume he will. Kolb has totaled 28 touchdowns and 25 interceptions in his career with a completion percentage of 59.5% and 5,206 passing yards. Coach Bobby Johnson has also announced that when both quarterbacks recover that Kolb could possibly battle Henne for the backup role behind Bortles.

Redskins Roll on a Windy Sunday

Landover, MD- The 0-1 Jaguars came into Landover today to face the 1-0 Washington Redskins. The Redskins started out hot with a long drive capped off by a RG3 TD pass to Jordan Reed. The Jaguars got the ball back and the offense looked a little shaky. They had some good plays but they had more bad ones. The Redskins got the ball back and drove down and kicked another field goal. Kevin Kolb went into next drive hot completing 4 straight passes, but to have the drive halted by a DeAngelo Hall interception.Washington quickly took the ball down the field and Kai Forbath kicked another field goal. The Jags offense came out hot again driving down the field, but being stopped to only a field goal. The Redskins drove down the field again, this time their drive ended in a DeSean Jackson TD reception. The Jags drove it down the field again kicking a field goal before half. Both offenses were quiet in the 3rd. Ace Sanders fumbled it early in the half to set up a Kai Forbath field goal, which were the only points in the quarter by either team. The Redskins drove the ball down the field in two straight drives to start the 4th, and both drives ended in a field goal. Kolb and the Jags offense drove the ball down the field again, but this time Kolb threw a pick. The Jags ended up getting the ball back and ending the game with TD pass from Kolb to Cecil Shorts III. Next week, the Jags will travel home to take on their division foe, the Indianapolis Colts.

Twenty Fourth Quarter Points Lead Colts to Win

Jacksonville, FL- The winless Jaguars hosted the winless Colts in their first home game of the young season. The first drive for the JAgs was horrific. It only took Kolb a couple of plays to throw an interception, and give the Colts great field position. The defense helped Kolb by out by holding the Colts to a field goal. Later in the quarter the offense showed promise, but just like last week, they were held to a field goal. The second quarter was very quiet. The only early chance was by the Jags. They drove the ball down the field, but Kolb forced a throw to Clay Harbor that ended up being intercepted. Later in the quarter is when things heated up. The Colts took the ball down the field, and just before the two minute warning, Andrew Luck threw an 8 yard TD pass to Reggie Wayne. Kolb and the Jags got down the field quickly, however this time the drive ended in a touchdown, a 1 yard TD run by Denard Robinson. The half did not start out right for the Jags. On the first play from scrimmage, Andrew Luck threw an 80 TD pass to Dwayne Allen. Then, the Jags marched it down the field, and again, were held to a field goal. The fourth quarter is when things got bad for the Jags. The Colts had two nice drives in a row, one ending in a touchdown, and the other ending in a field goal. The, Kevin Kolb threw his third interception, setting up a Trent Richardson TD run. The Colts drove down the field and capped the game off with an Adam Vinatieri field goal. Next week, the Jags travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers as they look for their first win of the season.

                            Jags Trade for Lamar Miller

Jacksonville, FL- The Jaguars have announced today that they have traded a 3rd-round pick and LOLB Telvin Smith for RB Lamar Miller from the Miami Dolphins. This move does not come as a surprise as both Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson have been struggling in the Jags backfield. Lamar Miller will be the immediate starter and will get plenty of carries in Jacksonville. It also would not come as a surprise if the Jags try to trade away Toby Gerhart as he is struggling and would now be the third-string running back behind Lamar Miller and Denard Robinson. It has seemed that Gerhart wanted out when he was benched, and it seems like he will really want out now.
