    Rams Offline CFM Blog

    Welcome!

This will purely be a simple blog to document the progress of my Rams franchise. I'm originally a Saints fan but I have decided to try a rebuild project with the Rams. I will most likely relocate them as well due to all the rumors swirling about in real life. Possibly locations include L.A., Austin, and possibly taking a 2nd team to Chicago.

Expect a lot of detailed writing to keep readers clued in to whats going on. I'm going to be very patient with this dynasty and keep an eye on all the details including trades, draft stories, and team news/development.

I will also look for readers suggestions as to which ways we should take the franchise. I can tell you right now, initially I would like to go towards a run first offense that includes short pass. Basically a Seahawks type of offense. On defense I will stay at a base 4 for now and build off the strong pass rush.

I hope you enjoy and look forward to the future!

    Pre-Season Week 1: 2014

The Rams hosted the New Orleans Saints for week 1 of the pre-season in what turned out to be an offensive showdown for both teams. It basically looked like a 7-7 tournament the whole game.

The Rams put up 334 yards through the air. Sam Bradford completed 6 of 7 for 63 yards. The spotlight was on Austin Davis and Garrett Gilbert though. Davis threw for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Gilbert completed 8 of 8 with a touchown and 113 yards. Shaun Hill had the worst day of the Rams quarterbacks and he threw 2 picks on the afternoon with only a total of 43 yards.

The Rams ground game was just as effective with a total of 207 yards on the ground. Mason had 65 yards on 5 carries and a touchdown, Chase Reynolds had 62 yards on 3 carries and a touchdown. Stacy compiled 33 yards on 7 carries, while Cunningham had 23 on 6 carries. Pead got 5 carries and put up 19 yards.

    ---

The Rams are currently entertaining offers for quarterback Sam Bradford and running back Zac Stacy.

The Rams have cut WR Justin Veltung. The Rams have also cut LG Brandon Washington. The Rams have cut C Demetrius Rhaney, and C Tim Barnes.

The Rams have decided to bring in WR Jeff Janis and HB De'anthony Thomas, and ROLB Michael Boley.

    ---

What are your thoughts on trading away quarterback Sam Bradford? We have offers from Oakland (2nd Round), Tennessee (2nd), Houston (2nd), Buffalo (2nd), and others as well. The teams listed made the most sense to me plus I would rather it be an AFC team as well.

      Competitions Starting To Heat Up

The Rams have competitions for starting jobs up for grabs on both sides of the ball.

With the Rams currently entertaining offers for quarterback Sam Bradford, he will not see anymore snaps during the pre-season. That means the QB job is up for grabs. If Bradford is not traded, he will obviously get the start but Shaun Hill, Austin Davis, and even Garrett Gilbert will be battling it out.

Zac Stacy will have to prove he still belongs in St. Louis and try and holf off Tre Mason. The Rams plan on carrying 4 RB's and with the recent signing of De'anthony Thomas. It will be a battle between him, Cunningham, Pead, and Reynolds to make the final 4 spots.

The Rams also added Jeff Janis who was a personal favorite of head coach Jeff Fisher. The Rams only plan on keeping 6 receivers so that would leave a battle between Pettis, Givens, Bailey, and Janis to make the roster.

Barrett Jones will try and take the starting job at center over Scott Wells. Jo-Lonn Dunbar will try and hold off recent signee Michael Boley at the ROLB position.

I don't know if I would trade Bradford away right now. Later in the year maybe, unless you get a good deal.

          Pre-Season: Week 2

The Rams gathered another pre-season victory this week against the Green Bay Packers.

Jeff Janis had a good debut in a Rams uniform. Janis hauled in 7 receptions for 63 yards. With a day like that, Janis could possibly make the Rams final 53 man roster.

Tre Mason had another stellar outing as he ran for 59 yards on just 2 carries. Chase Reynolds continues to make a case as he had 43 yards on 9 carries.

Shaun Hill continues to struggle as he had another sub par day. If Davis and Gilbert keep playing at the pace they are, Hill could possibly find himself in free agency.

          ---

Trade talks between with Rams and Texans are really starting to heat up. The Texans feel like Sam Bradford could give them a chance to make a deep push into the playoffs and with the play of Austin Davis, the Rams feel like their strong run game could really carry them.

          ---

I would like to get a community opinion on relocation. Would you guys like to see St. Louis head to Austin, Chicago, L.A. or stay in St. Louis?

I think it depends on what way you want to build your team. If you want to build it for yourself, Chicago or Austin. If not LA or stay in ST.Louis
