Out of Mediocrity: Rise of the Jets

     photo new-york-jets-wallpaper-0_zpsd447e72b.jpg

Hello everyone. Because I am taking a lot of writing classes at the University I go to, my instructor told me that to improve my writing I should write about something that I enjoy. There is nothing that I enjoy more than the game of football. I figured I could start a Jet's franchise story to bring them out of the laughingstock of the NFL. I hope you enjoy this as much as I will. It's not going to be anything fancy with glitz and glamour, but I hope to bring you some good reading and create a quality franchise story for you guys to read. Thank you.

    System: PS3
Game: Madden 12 with Madden 15 Updated Rosters
Sliders: 12 min and my own sliders.
Draft Classes: Authentic Draft Classes from NCAA 12 that I ported from the OS 15 roster.

Put Up or Shut Up for Ryan, Idzik
                      By: James Norman

                      Mediocre. Shameful. Embarrassing.

Three words that sum up the franchise that is the New York Jets. In five years, the Jets have gone from AFC runner ups to once again the bottom dwellers of the AFC. What excuses do you have Rex Ryan and John Idzik? Quarterback Mark Sanchez was the scapegoat for so long. Everyone knew, myself included, that Sanchez was never going to be "the guy" for the Jets. Head Coach Rex Ryan did a remarkable job hiding Sanchez's flaws in his first two years. With a stellar defense along with a powerful running game, Sanchez got by being a game manager. He rode along with the Jets into the postseason. Sure, he has wins over Tom Brady. So does Colt McCoy. Where is he at?

Once the running game went away, the real Mark Sanchez finally revealed himself. Interception after interception after butt fumble, Sanchez proved that he couldn't be the "Sanchize" like the Jets had hoped for. Not all of it was Sanchez's fault. The signing of Tim Tebow and the drafting of quarterback Geno Smith didn't help matters in the least.

Now Sanchez is in Philadelphia backing up Nick Foles. Geno Smith isn't a rookie anymore. The excuses have to stop for this franchise. Newsflash Jets. The Giants have won two Super Bowls since 2008 and you have nothing to show. If you do not think you can win with Geno under center, put Michael Vick in. He may not be the Michael Vick that was on the Madden 2004 cover, but he could be the best chance you have. For coach Rex Ryan and General Manager Tom Idzik, the clock is running. This year you need to produce, or pack your bags. Jets fans deserve better.

I'll be following! Any thoughts about trying to imitate the trade for Percy Harvin?

I port over M15 rosters to M12 via the editor. So when I ported it over yesterday for the M12 users, I already initiated the trade. He's on and ready to go. #16 as well. Thanks for reading.

Jets Sign Two Before Season Opener; Bolster Depth

                               photo ChampBailey_zpsa906e947.jpg photo CaesarRayford7ZjsbYDNWGEm_zps17139a1e.jpg

The Jets today announced the signings of cornerback Champ Bailey and defensive lineman Caesar Rayford.

Bailey, a 15 year veteran, played on the Denver Broncos last year on their magical Super Bowl run before falling to the Seattle Seahawks. He played in a career-low five games last season while battling a foot injury. He compiled 14 tackles with no interceptions. Bailey's veteran leadership and skill should bolster a weak secondary. The Jets nabbed him for one year and $850K.

Rayford is a one year pro who was on the Dallas Cowboy's practice squad last season. He was cut last week when Dallas had to trim down to meet roster requirements. He has totaled five tackles in his career. The Jets signed him to a one year, 350K contract.
