ARMY HEAD COACH DISMISSED
WEST POINT, NY -- Army Athletic Director Boo Corrigan announced the dismissal of Army football head coach Rich Ellerson in a press conference held earlier today. The move comes as no surprise to many, as the Black Knights' recent seasons have been marked by many losses, the most recent ending 2-10 for the academy team.
"Rich did a heckuva job against all the challenges that are presented as the head coach of a service academy team," Corrigan said,"but we're looking to make some changes, and unfortunately it was decided that he would not be returning to coach the 2013 season for us."
Army has already begun looking for suitable candidates.
ARMY ANNOUNCES NEW HEAD COACH
WEST POINT, NY -- Army Athletic Director Boo Corrigan announced the hiring of Army football's next head coach in a press conference held early this morning. This comes one month after the dismissal of former head coach Rich Ellerson. Army has hired Colton Hagan, a native of Huntsville, Alabama, to become Army's next head coach.
"Colton has been doing a great job on the high school level down in Alabama, leading his team to three state championships in a row, and building up those players." Corrigan said."He's exactly what we've been looking for over this past month, and he jumped at the opportunity."
"I'd like to thank Mr. Corrigan for allowing me this opportunity to coach at this level." Hagan said."I understand that this role will be a challenging one, but no head coaching job is without. Come this fall, I think this team will be ready to shake up the college football world."
