UNC at Charlotte: Building From the Ground Up

    Background Info:

I’ve been wanting to try my hand at running a dynasty thread here. I’ve posted a couple before, but I never got more than 3-4 games into them. With you all as my witness I vow to make this one last.

Re: UNC at Charlotte: Building From the Ground Up

    General Info:
    Game: NCAA Football 14
    Platform: PS3
Mode: I’ll be in dynasty mode, playing all of the games.
Rosters: A default named set I picked up right after the game came out, can’t remember who made it.
    Sliders: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...t-sliders.html
Recruiting Rules: Graduating Seniors +3, one star above in home state and pipeline, same star every other, can recruit up to +2 star if I start as their #1 choice
Cuts: Can cut whoever I want.
Players Declaring: I cannot convince any player to return to school if they choose to declare.
Transfers: If they want to transfer I can’t stop them.
BCS or Playoff? I’ll just stick with the BCS system because the editor is too complicated for me.

I'll be replacing UAB since they're ending their program in real life. I'm going to try and stick true to what is happening in real life with schedules and conferences changes

Re: UNC at Charlotte: Building From the Ground Up

      History:
In 1946, 22 young men began practice as the Charlotte Center of the University of North Carolina Owl's first athletic program: a football team. The team finished the season 2–4, with wins over Pembroke State and Belmont Abbey, and losses to Davidson JV, Catawba College JV, and Clemson's "B" team. The team hosted 2 home games that year at American Legion Memorial Stadium. In part due to the effects of fewer World War II veterans entering college in the late 1940s, the football program ended after the 1948 season. The final football game was played on October 27, 1948.
On July 12, 2006, a group of 15 UNC Charlotte students and alumni held the inaugural Charlotte 49er Football Initiative (CFI) meeting. The mission of this group was to "promote the creation of a Division 1 college football program at Charlotte," eventually employing methods such as a promotional website, merchandise sales and a pledge campaign. A student organization, Charlotte Football Advocates (later CFI Students), became a part of the larger CFI group during the fall of 2006. In February 2007, UNC Charlotte students voted overwhelmingly in favor of football in an official campus-wide vote and the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees voted to authorize $150,000 to study adding 49ers Football, and establishing a Football Feasibility Committee to be headed by outgoing board president and prominent Charlotte businessman Mac Everett. The committee held several meetings throughout the summer of 2007, plus three public forums in the fall of 2007.
In December 2007, the Football Feasibility Committee voted unanimously to recommend the addition of 49ers football. In September 2008, a major student-led March to the End zone rally was held on campus. On September 18, 2008, Chancellor Dubois officially recommended adding a 49ers football program with the condition that its fans first raise $5 million to help fund the stadium complex. On November 13, 2008, the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees voted to add a Charlotte 49ers football program by 2013.

The 49ers will play as an independent with several FCS teams on the schedule this year, and in the 2014 season. However, beginning in the 2015 season Charlotte will join C-USA and will play a full DIV-I schedule.

should be interesting. how are you scheduling for year one? playing as an independent? taking over UAB's schedule?

I'm editing as I notice I forgot things. It's my first real crack at this so any suggestions would be awesome, specially from you. I read through almost all of your Tulane dynasty, I just never posted for whatever reason

I tried to keep the schedule as close to the real life 2013 schedule was, but you can only schedule 5 FCS teams a year so I had to schedule some other weaker teams also.

As an aside, I know you can not use the editor with teambuilder teams, so even if you wanted to use the editor, you couldn't in this situation.

The game started quickly with the Camels receiving the opening kickoff and driving the length of the field to score on a 49yard pass while burning just 51 seconds off the clock. After trading punts the next two drives, the 49ers were finally able to get on the board with a 23yard scoring strike from Devin Sankey to Sonny Huff.

                              in the third quarter

The second quarter would see Campell take a 17-7 lead on a 26yard field goal, and a 26yard catch and run. Charlotte would come storming back with a 63yard bomb to wide out Tyson Ross from Devin Sankey, they would also tack on a field goal right before the half to tie it at 17 all.

The 49ers would receive the second half kickoff, and see return specialist Quinn Frazier take the kickoff 100yards to pay dirt to give his team the first lead of the game at 24-17. Campell would add a field goal later in the quarter to make it a 24-20 game going into the final frame.

Charlotte would strike first in the fourth quarter on a 31yard hookup from Sankey to Ross to extend their lead 31-20. The 49ers would add another field goal from 40yards out to make it a 14 point ball game, 34-20 with under two minutes left to play. The Camels would storm down the field in just 4 plays and 48seconds to bring the score closer at 34-27. Charlotte would recover the ensuing onside kick off and run out the clock for their first win in school history.
