UTSA UPSETS TEXAS STATE AT HOME

The UTSA Roadrunners got their first victory of the season today against the Texas State Bobcats 37-22. They played impressively on both sides of the ball in the first half scoring 31 points while only allowing seven. However, at the start of the second half, the Texas State defense buckled down, only allowing two field goals in the entire half. The UTSA defense, on the other hand, allowed 15, through a touchdown and a 2-pt conversion, as well as another touchdown. However, UTSA's defense held strong and the offense did more than enough in the first half to ensure the victory.

"We played well in the first half, definitely. However, we weren't really able to close out, and we had to rely on the defense," said offensive coordinator Jake Carlisle after the game.

However, this victory came at a price as starting halfback Jarveon Williams went down in the first quarter. It was late revealed that he had suffered broken ribs and would be out for an undisclosed number of weeks. It is believed that he will miss a good chunk of the season. In the meantime, we wish UTSA the best of luck for their next game. Go Roadrunners!

Can't say I expected you to win out the gates, but it is hard to lose when running the ball like that!

Great start to the dynasty man...good luck with this project.

Thanks! Yeah, if the game against Arizona is too close or we somehow win, I may scrap the result and play with the community sliders, which are my backup set.

Update: I will not be able to update this week, as I will be away, and updates may not be as frequent, considering school starts within a few weeks. However, that does not mean I'm leaving this behind. Just give me a little leeway in terms of when I update this, please and thanks you.

UTSA BLOWN OUT BY ARIZONA, FALL TO 1-1

UTSA played their first away game this week as they faced the 25th-ranked Arizona Wildcats. Unfortunately, it was a rout from the beginning as the score was 31-7 in favor of Arizona at half. After they put their backups in, the defense stepped up and the final score: 37-14 Arizona. However, it wasn't turnovers or lack of production that stalled the Roadrunner offense, as they did gain 313 yards. They simply couldn't convert on 3rd down, going 3-12 for a pitiful 25% conversion rate. It isn't helping that Corbin White, backup HB to start the season has had to start as Jarveon Williams went down in against Texas State and will be out for the next 2 months. Hopefully they can step it up next week when they play the UTEP Miners for their C-USA opener. Go Roadrunners!

With both teams missing thir starting halfbacks, this could turn into a pass-heavy shootout very quickly. However, with th superior talent level on UTEP's offense and the fact that they are at home, we have them taking this one over UTSA.

Damn that was a thorough beatdown. You guys got down early and just never recovered.

The UTEP game should be more winnable I'd think.

Gotta get those average yards per play higher! 3.1 yards per carry, 5.9 yards per pass attempt...ain't gonna win too many like that.

I knew basically from the start that it wasn't winnable, and both sides of the ball were overmatched, but the defense especially. We were able to move the ball much better than I expected, but 31 points allowed in the first half wasn't going to cut it.

UTEP is definitely closer to us talent-wise, but it's in El Paso so I don't know how that will work out. Our running game was bottled up for most of the game and White had a sub-3yd average for most of it. Hopefully we can bounce back this week!
