Definitely a tough loss to Tulane, which was made even worse by Williams good performance in his return. Hopefully we can beat North Texas, although I thought the same about Tulane!

Yeah, as I said, definitely expected a win there. But another win or two is easily within reach to get into a bowl game.

BREAKING: JAYLON HENDERSON STAYING WITH TEAM

Jaylon Henderon, star quarterback (at least in San Antonio) for the UTSA Roadrunners, has elected to stay with the team for at least one more season. He announced this at a press conference at the Park West Athletic Center. He said that he would "work on his durability for the rest of the regular season and over the offseason." This announcement comes after rumors he would leave the team after this season following a string of injuries that would cause him to leave games. This is good news for the program, who would be left with two quarterbacks with game experience if Henderson left.

DALTON STURM TO START VS NORTH TEXAS

Dalton Sturm has been named the starter at quarterback for UTSA after a good week of practice, both in the weight room and on the practice field. "He [Dalton] has looked good so far this year, and he's finally, I think, getting rewarded for his hard work by getting the start." This was said by Offensive Coordinator Jake Carlisle about the decision. "Coach [Coker] gave me the responsibility to make the decision, and I'm trying to justify his faith in me by making the right choice," Carlisle said. According to both Coker and Carlisle, Sturm has not only been excellent in the weight room, but also in learning the whole offense. "Dalton has really dove into the playbook this year. Not only does he know his job, but he knows what the receivers have to do on each play, the running backs, the tight ends, and the o-line. He could play any position on offense if it was based of knowledge alone," said Larry Coker, praising his young quarterback's knowledge of the offense. Hopefully,he can pull out the win against North Texas. Go Roadrunners!

UTSA OVERCOMES SLOW START TO BEAT NORTH TEXAS

UTSA's offense came into the game under new management, as it was being led by Dalton Sturm, the redshirt sophomore, who was taking over for Jaylon Henderson, who will be out for the remainder of the season.

The offense started off slowly, scoring only seven first half points. North Texas, on the other hand, scored 24 and looked to be UTSA's second loss in row. However, Offensive Coordinator Jake Carlisle made the necessary adjustments and sent in Blake Bogenschutz and Corbin White to relieve Dalton Sturm and Jarveon Williams, who were both struggling.

The second half started out well for the Roadrunners, as Bogenschutz hit Kenny Bias across the middle for and 82-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the half. Later on, however, UTSA was driving when both White and Bogenschutz went out with injuries. White, who suffered a concussion, will be out against Louisiana Tech, while Bogenschutz will either be the starter or backup.

One key stat from the game are UTSA's 43 second half points, including 29 in the fourth quarter! Meanwhile, North Texas only managed nine second half points.

Final Score: UTSA 50, North Texas 33

Next up: the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. This matchup will determine who represents the C-USA West in the Conference USA Championship Game. Go Roadrunners!

Thanks! Hopefully we can get more season tickets holders down in San Antonio. It was a nice bounce back win, I agree. We needed that to keep in the conference championship race, and we got it!

Sorry about the inconsistent update schedule. I really don't have the time to do anything with this during the week, with school and whatnot. Weekends are usually when I have a lot of free time; thus, a flood of updates! Again, sorry. Over breaks during Christmas and the summer I should be able to update on a more regular schedule, but I'll just have to make do for now. Thank you for your cooperation.

UTSA PREVAILS OVER BULLDOGS TO WIN C-USA WEST

As the confetti rained down from the roof of the Alamodome, you'd think UTSA had just won the national championship.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. However, UTSA had just won the West Division of the Conference USA.

In a game that was a lot closer and much more defensive than the final indicated, the final score was 34-24 in favor of UTSA.

The offense started off slowly again as Dalton Sturm again got the start. However, he was pulled due to injury early, and Blake Bogenschutz again made his case for starter next year, as he played well.

At the end of one, the score was 10-7 in favor of LTU. At half, however, UTSA led 17-10 thanks to 10 unanswered points.

However, at the end of three quarters it was 17 all as the fourth quarter looked to be a battle for the ages for the C-USA West.

In the fourth, it was UTSA who would pull away, outscoring Louisiana Tech 17-7 in the quarter to win, and catapult them into the C-USA championship the winner of the FAU-FIU game later tonight. Thus we put to a close the most successful season in UTSA's (short) history, and they haven't even gotten to the postseason yet.

Good luck to the team vs whoever they face in the conference championship, and, as always, go Roadrunners!

This week, instead of looking at each Top 5 team, we will look at each major conference championship, as well as the major projected bowl matchups.

                          [CENTER]BIG TEN/CENTER]

This is possibly the biggest game this year. College Gameday is headed to what is basically a National Championship Play-in game. This is between #1 Ohio State and #2 Michigan State. Now, both of these teams are talented and have battled through a tough schedule to be here. Ohio State is the more talented of the two, but Michigan State will put up a tough fight.

Ohio State's Opponents: 78-56 combined record, including Michigan State
Michigan State's Opponents: 74-70, including Ohio State

Ohio State has played the tougher schedule, but neither team played an opponent with more than 8 wins. They will be each other's best opponent all year, but Ohio State's talent will pull through.
                          Prediction: Ohio State
                          Herbstreit: Michigan State

                          PAC-12

#7 Arizona vs #3 Oregon. Whoever wins this will likely have a good shot at being the second team into the playoff. Arizona has surprised some people this year, but now we'll see who played the tougher schedule.

Arizona's Opponents: 85-60 combined record, including Oregon twice, who they lost to earlier this year 27-17
Oregon's Opponents: 74-70, again beating Arizona once during the regular season

Arizona undoubtedly had the tougher schedule, as they played 4 ranked opponents, compared to Oregon's 3. However, Oregon has the talent to beat Arizona again.
                          Prediction: Oregon
                          Herbstreit: Oregon

                          SEC

#16 Georgia vs #6 LSU likely has no national championship implications, unless seriously crazy stuff happens, so our predictions are:
                          Prediction: LSU
                          Herbstreit: LSU

                          ACC

The ACC Championship features two teams who met mere weeks ago: #12 Georgia Tech and #4 Clemson. Clemson won that matchup 38-21. Clemson could go to the Natty with a loss by Oregon and win by themselves. They outmatch GT talent-wise and played roughly the same schedule, strength-wise.

Clemson's Opponents: 74-58 combined record, including GT twice
Georgia Tech's Opponents: 81-51, including Clemson twice

                          Prediction: Clemson
                          Herbstreit: Clemson

Now for some of the more intriguing bowl projections that aren't BCS.

                          Holiday Bowl: Kansas State (7-5, 4-5) vs #14 Arizona State (9-3, 6-3)
                          Valero Alamo Bowl: #19 West Virginia (9-3, 6-3) vs #18 Utah (8-4, 6-3)
                          Hyundai Sun Bowl: #15 USC (9-3, 6-3) vs #17 Florida State (9-3, 6-2)

Congrats on winning the west division, time to take down FIU.

Their D looks tasty with the numbers, should be a good matchup! Good luck

Thanks! Their defense definitely looks intimidating and we'll have to see how our offense fares against it.
