Re: The Rise
NON-PLAYOFF RESULTS
Can't stop, won't stop: USC QB Sam Darnold threw four touchdown passes - including a 47-yard dagger TD late in the fourth quarter as #5 USC took down #6 Clemson.
Dormady's Day: Quinten Dormady led the Vols with 4 total touchdowns as #11 Tennessee knocks off #10 Oklahoma.
Houston, We Have a Problem: Houston came out firing on all cylinders as they held a 35-10 lead headed into the final frame and held on for a 14-point win. Houston DT Ed Oliver was not Josh Rosen's friend as the sophomore phenom had 5 TFL and 3.5 sacks.
Bo Knows Football: Bo Scarbrough ran for 212 yards and three touchdowns, despite the relatively close score, it felt like this game was always in control for the Tide.

Re: The Rise
2017 PLAYOFF SEMIFINALS
Buckeyes score twice in final 4 minutes: Mike Weber Jr. scored on a 12-yard TD run with 3:48 to play to tie the game at 38. Louisville QB Lamar Jackson threw an untimely INT which set up J.T. Barrett's 14-yard TD pass to Terry McLaurin with 32 seconds left to push the Buckeyes to the title game.
Over before it began: Washington QB Jake Browning scored three first half touchdowns (2 pass, 1 rush), as Washington led Kansas State 52-10 in the middle of the third quarter. Kansas State was plagued by 4 turnovers, two of which were returned for Washington touchdowns - a pick-six in the second quarter when Kansas State had cut the lead to 24-10 - and then a fumble scoop n' score to put Washington up 52-10. Kansas State enjoyed some garbage time TDs to closen the final score as Washington got to rest its starters for a quarter.

Sour note to end the season, but I know that will make coach and the Knights hungry for more next season.Comment

Re: The Rise
NO GOOD! Ohio State, Washington play a dramatic title game as a low-scoring first half turns into a season half shootout. The game went to double OT, where Ohio State started the period with a field goal but Washington misses wide right in OT. Ohio State wins back-to-back national titles with a 41-38 win over Washington.

Re: The Rise
Army dismisses WR Les Studholme
WEST POINT --- JUCO transfer Les Studholme II sat a top of Army WR depth chart in 2017 as a replacement to WR Edgar Poe who graduated following the 2016 season.
An underwhelming season only saw him record 4 catches, as Studholme struggled on the field, unfortunately leading the team in drops. Coaches were hoping Studholme would be a bigger contributor in 2018 but he has been dismissed by the Army program for a violation of team rules.
The rules violation took place the week of the Military Bowl. The team has not announced the violation but Studholme will not be a football Knight in 2018.
Studholme was noticably absent during the 2017 Military Bowl, a game Army dropped to Toledo. Christian Poe and Luke Peterman were the starters at receiver in the bowl game.
Les Studholme's brother, a true freshman this past season, linebacker J.J. Studholme remains on the team.Last edited by Iron Dragon; 01-07-2019, 01:46 AM.Comment

Re: The Rise
Coach Jackson decides to remain at Army
A candid look at the coaching carousel process.
After two seasons at Army, we will be staying put this offseason. One notable thing that happened that would have really considered me to leave was Paul Johnson's new school offering me an offensive coordinator spot.
Johnson got axed from Georgia Tech, and Louisiana Tech hired him but they kept their current offensive coordinator in place.
So there went that idea.
Got a few OC calls from schools with new head coaches, but none of them really interested me that much. NMSU and UNLV offered me for HC, but neither spot interested me. I'd love to be out west but their rosters would require a year where would be a complete mess on offense.
So let's head on to another off season with Army...

Great work the past season but that was a tough bowl loss. Utah would of been a fun place to go. Looking forward to the next season.Comment

Re: The Rise
Took some time off but glad to be back. Thanks man.
Utah is interesting but they brought in a top QB last season who, by my dynasty behind-the-scenes work, would have transferred out.
Behind him they have a 58 SPD redshirt freshman and a 72 SPD true freshman. Their backs are OK and they have a decent FB. But it just wasn't the time.Comment
