Re: Perseverance : Tommy Jacobs' Career
Bengals are State Champions !
Our Bengals have done it ! They're State Champions in football ! Another brilliant performance by quarterback Tommy Jacobs as he led our team to a 31-10 victory over the Lakeville North Panthers, going 23-for-35 with 366 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding another touchdown on the ground on one of his 10 rushing atempts of the game. Defensive was again masterfully sound, limiting the Panthers to only 10 points, after stopping them at 7 in their previous encounter. As the season now comes to a close, Jacobs, among others, will have played his last high school game for the Bengals, and we can bet a brilliant football career awaits him.Comment

Re: Perseverance : Tommy Jacobs' Career
Now that Tommy's high school senior year is over, the only thing left for him is to gather his thoughts on his visits, and finally decide on where he wants to take his football play and studies. Here's the final table for his current college choices :
Tommy Jacobs - College choices School Conference Style Interest Offer Visit Recruited by Notre Dame Spread High 11/17 Tony Alford Minnesota Multiple High 10/27 Billy Glasscock Washington Pro High 11/10 Johnny Nansen Tennessee Spread High 11/3 Robert Gillespie Arkansas Pro High 10/13 Tim Horton Louisville Multiple High - Texas Spread Medium 11/22 Darrell Wyatt Ole Miss Spread Medium -
Tommy hasn't made his decision public yet, so you can try and guess where he will head for his college career. However, here's the rundown on his visits :
Arkansas : Tommy liked the fact that they're playing in the SEC and have a good team so he'll be able to have a chance to play in bowl games. The Engineering school looks good, but he wasn't too impressed with Fayetteville as a whole.
Minnesota : Huge bias here, as it's Tommy's favorite NCAA football team, his father's a University staff, and it's near home so he knows the area and has his family nearby. The club is playing in a strong conference, but they'll have a hard time against the powerhouses of the Big Ten. Engineering school is good as well.
Tennessee : He had a nice visit there, and was very impressed by Neyland Stadium, he'd like to play there on a regular basis. Academic-wise, he didn't find anything outstanding about the classes, but he does like the Knoxville area.
Washington : It was his first time on the West coast, and he really liked Seattle itself. The Pac-12 is a competitive conference, and Washington is pretty good in it. Engineering school looks good, but it is a long ways from home, so he'll be pretty much by himself over there.
Notre Dame : Mythical Notre Dame did a good impression on Tommy, the stadium, the academics, the environment, pretty much everything was impressive. Coching staff advised him that he will surely not start for a season, and maybe more depending on his development.
Texas : Another impressive visit, but the football program itself didn't impress him too much with their play. The University, on the other hand, was a great place to see and he feels he'd be a good fit there. Then again, he'd likely have to switch positions if he wants to play right away. He does have the tools to be a rushing linebacker, either to the outside or in the middle, but he'll have to bulk up if he does.
As usual, don't hesite to comment on anything, your thoughts are very welcome !Comment

Re: Perseverance : Tommy Jacobs' Career
Seems like Minnesota is the best choice here, with maybe Tennessee/Washington at a close second.
