One Giant Problem (A New York Giants Franchise)

BEN MCADOO LEAVES GIANTS TO COACH THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

East Rutherford, NJ - Ben McAdoo has left the New York Giants after one playoff season to go coach the New Orleans Saints after Sean Payton decided to retire due to health reasons. McAdoo's decision has left the Giants organization scrambling to find a replacement, and while defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo seemed to be the next choice, the Giants ultimately decided to hire an unknown coach by the name of Brandon Olsen.

The new head coach has decided to keep Spagnuolo on as defensive coordinator and has hired Frank Pollack as the new offensive coordinator. Pollack has been the offensive line coach for the Dallas Cowboys since 2015 and was the assistant offensive line coach for two years before that. Olsen also made the decision to fire current offensive line coach Mike Solari and hired former New York Giant David Diehl,, who played with the Giants from 2003-2013, winning two Super Bowls, making one Pro Bowl in 2009, and being a 2nd-Team All-Pro in 2008.

DISCLAIMER: I already played week 1 by the time that I decided to do this so excuse the rushed effort early on.

COWBOYS TAKE EARLY DIVISION LEAD WITH 34-27 VICTORY OVER GIANTS

ARLINGTON, TX - Last season, the Dallas Cowboys went 13-3 with all 3 losses being in division, two of them being to the New York Giants, this season however, there seems to be a different tune to this song.

Ezekiel Elliot rushed 35 times for 228 yards and a touchdown against the division rivals that he totaled 158 yards and one touchdown on 44 carries in his two games against the Giants in his rookie year. It's safe to say that Ezekiel Elliott won MVP for this game.

Defensive MVP however would go to BJ Goodson, who had 20 tackles in a losing effort. Goodson was making his first start at Middle Linebacker and among plenty of fan criticism, he shined in his role as the anchor to this defense. The battle between Janoris Jenkins and Dez Bryant was an interesting one. Bryant had 5 catches for 93 yards at halftime, then Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo decided to have Janoris Jenkins shadow Dez Bryant, where Dez caught just one pass for 13 yards. The game also saw Olivier Vernon block two Dallas Cowboy kicks in the first half, with Dan Bailey missing a 54 yarder in the fourth quarter.

Odell Beckham Jr. shredded this young secondary for 200 yards and a touchdown on 7 catches, although 83 of those yards came on a catch and run touchdown, and another 42 came on a bomb right before halftime. Eli Manning threw two interceptions this week, both came in the first half. One interception was a rushed throw in which Sean Lee caught an errant pass, and the other was intended for Brandon Marshall, but the ball hit off of his hands and Jeff Heath came up with the tip drill.
