The Arizona Cardinals trade Josh Rosen and Haason Reddick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for draft picks

Jaguars found their franchise QB while the Cardinals are expected to select Kyler Murray at No.1

        By Seth Cox | @SCoxFB | Updated Apr 25, 2019, 8:07pm EST

The Jacksonville Jaguars are trading two draft picks to the Arizona Cardinals for quarterback Josh Rosen and linebacker Haason Reddick, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Jacksonville is sending a first-round pick this year (7th overall) and a sixth-round pick in 2020 to Arizona for the two players.

Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen took the reins of the Arizona Cardinals offense in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks and led the team to three wins on the season.

Starting 13 games as a rookie, Rosen struggled in an offensive that refused to use David Johnson effectively. The No. 10 overall pick was constantly under pressure as well, which resulted in more interceptions (14) than touchdowns (11).

Rosen had a rough rookie season behind a Cardinals offensive line that was objectively the NFL's worst: according to research from Graham Barfield of NFL.com, "No quarterback was pressured more often (37.2%), threw into a tight window more often (21.6%), or had a lower expected completion percentage (59.4%)—based on the difficulty of the throw—than Josh Rosen did in 2018," Barfield Tweeted.

Riddick was selected by the Cardinals in the first round of the 2017 draft and he'll follow Rosen in Florida as a part of the deal. Riddick struggled early in the season, saw his playing time wane and then played almost every snap of the second half of the season. He finished with 80 total tackles, eight for loss, four sacks and five broken up passes.

The Cardinals have decided to move on from Rosen after just a year in order to probably select Kyler Murray with the No.1 pick, but more things can change in the next 48 hours. Cardinals are now considering a lot of names for the 7th pick but it cannot be excluded that the pick will be traded.

2019 NFL Draft, Top10 picks analysis

A talented quarterback like Murray with his ability to be just as dangerous on the ground as through the air would seem like a dream can true for any coach in the NFL, and Kingsbury knows that. He said that. So here we are, the Cardinals have traded Josh Rosen and Kyler Murray will be the new quarterback.

Looking at the numbers, Murray’s 2018 season jumps off the page: 42 touchdowns, 11.6 yards per attempt, 143.9 passer rating when clean and a 94.7 overall grade according to PFF. When forced to run, Murray was extremely efficient, managing 7.9 yards per attempt on the ground, with 37.7% of his total yards coming on scrambles (which led FBS quarterbacks). When plays broke down and he had to improvise, Murray was able to keep options alive and that is something that is a valued asset in the NFL with the pass-rush becoming a dominant factor in today’s game.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

After trading Khalil Mack the Raiders have finally found his replacement. Nick Bosa withdrew from Ohio State during the 2018 season, after an abdomen injury put him out for the rest of the season. Since the injury occurred, Nick Bosa had surgery and has been rehabbing the injury and preparing for the NFL Combine. At Ohio State, he ended his career with 77 total tackles and 17.5 sacks.

Nick and Joey Bosa have extremely similar play-styles. Both players explode off the ball with insane intensity, which if you are familiar with Line coaches, “exploding off the line” is arguably the most important trait for players to have. Both players use their hands quickly and efficiently which is very valuable for shedding blocks. Both players are extremely quick and with both weighing in well above 250lbs, the quickness helps them run around offensive linemen before they even know what happened. The combination of these skills is what makes Joey Bosa the player he is in the NFL and what will help Nick Bosa Take the NFL by storm.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

After quarterback, pass rushers are the prime need for NFL teams. The 49ers took defensive linemen in the first round in three straight years (2015 to ’17), but DeForest Buckner is the only true star of the group. And none of those picks has the edge-rushing potential of Allen, who racked up 17 sacks for the Wildcats this season.

If you’re talking about pure pass-rushing ability, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Allen is right up there with Bosa. Highly athletic and scheme versatile, he is just what today’s NFL is looking for. He’ll be able to play at the LOS or off the ball in situations. He’s an every-down defender who can cover tight ends and running backs. And he has the ability to set the edge or stack and shed against the run.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

Williams is a perfect fit for the Jets 4-3 defense as a 3-technique penetrator. At Alabama, Quinnen Williams excelled in his sophomore season, helping lead the Crimson Tide to the national championship game. Williams had 71 tackles, 19.5 tackles for a loss and eight sacks.

The Jets could use a disruptive force like Williams in the middle, as he is not just a run-stuffing nose guard. He has the speed and pass-rushing ability to get after the quarterback, too. Williams is extremely fast off the snap, possessing the ability to fire his gap and close on the quarterback in a hurry. Williams can use pure speed to fly by blockers and win with a speed rush. He also has functional strength to bull rush through blockers, or grab them and toss them aside. On top of his great skill set, Williams shows impressive technique with his hand placement and has variety in pass-rushing moves with speed rushes, bull rushes, swim moves, and more.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

Williams is the best offensive lineman of his class. He can climb to the second level and attack linebackers with proper angles and power. In the short areas along the offensive line, he can pull down the line of scrimmage or even widen the hole on outside zone. However, there are times that he doesn’t initiate contact in open space, but that shouldn’t be too alarming. Lastly, his footwork is relatively consistent, which helps him anchor and match power with power. He could be a great zone blocker at the next level.

He is ready to step into the NFL and make his mark as a professional by solidifying the interior of the Bucs offensive line.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

The Giants need a quarterback after losing Eli due to back issues, and Haskins for a lot of experts is the best quarterback in the class. Haskins (6-3, 220) is far from a finished product, he started only 14 games at Ohio State, but he has an extremely high ceiling.

The trait that stands out about Dwayne Haskins is his rocket arm. He delivers the ball all around the field with good zip on his passes, he can also throw the deep ball far which will make him dangerous in an attacking offense. He has great size and that will make him hard to bring down plus he has the mobility to evade defenders.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

The Cardinals have decided to keep their 7th overall pick from the Josh Rosen trade and select cornerback Greedy Williams. He has a very good linear acceleration to stay attached at the hip to receivers and the long arms are effective in jostling and battling for position on the route stem. Williams’ ball skills, length and speed will allow him a lot of challenges on the football. But Williams’ effort and lack of desire to play all phases of the position will impact his team as well, only in a negative light.

Williams will add even more depth to Cardinals' secondary by joining pro bowler Patrick Peterson, Budda Baker, David Amerson and safeties Tre Boston and D.J. Swearing.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

After trading Golden Tate to the Eagles and missing the playoffs for another the Detroit Lions were looking for an impact wide receiver that can help Matthew Stafford since day one. Marquise "Hollywood" Brown is a vertical deep threat with explosive traits to create space for himself while giving his QB separation from CBs and easy throws.

His speed is elite as well as his change of direction, he can get to top speed in a matter of a few steps and is impossible to cover one on one when he has a clean release. High impact player.

          ---------------------------•---------------------------

After adding a veteran cornerback like Josh Norman the Bills need to keep adding young talent on the defensive side of the ball. Baker is a guy who can be an elite cover corner in the league, and he has tremendous hands for a defensive back.

Baker has a lot of skills that should translate to the NFL and could turn him into a starter early in his career. Perhaps his best trait is the quality of his instincts. He recognizes routes well, reads receivers hands and eyes well, and times breakups well. While Baker is not the fastest of corners, he has speed and athleticism to run the route and prevent separation. Along with instincts and ball skills, Baker is a physical defender that plays with an aggressive attitude and has an impressive ability to come up with some big plays in the clutch.
          ---------------------------•---------------------------

Linebacker was one of the biggest issues to address for the Bengals. At about 5'11 – 235, Bush doesn’t have ideal height, but he is quick, fast and athletic and makes plays all over the field because of his outstanding instincts. Bush became a full-time starter in 2017, and ever since he has been a vital part of the Wolverine defense.

Bush has the speed and athleticism to cover backs man to man and not lose them. In zone he gets depth with his drops and has very good receiver awareness. He does a very good job keeping plays in front of him and can plant and drive on the ball very well. His sack totals (9.5 in two years) attest to his very good blitz ability.

Love you picks and its going to be fun following Kyler (big homer there as my MA is from OU).

Never did like Rosen. He's a guy who plays football, not a football player, if you get the distinction. No.1 reason why I went with the Bears instead of the Cards for my M19 chise.
