    Jones showed well in limited time last year, but this team goes as far as Henderson goes. Hopefully he can stay healthy and make everyone around him better on offense, and you get enough from your defense to grind out another bowl-eligible season this year!

      Definitely a team with some great position groups but also some really young/lower overall players too. I like your RB's speed numbers- found that good agility and speed can make any overall RB dangerous. Defense will be a big thing to overcome. Like all the hurdles you build into the story!

        At 6'7 I would be finding Paul Charles in the endzone.. Also interesting that you use your FB as your main runner. I always seem to find these 6'4 250 HB in my dynasties like former Tiger/NY Giant Brandon Jacobs when I want to go big..

          I actually made an error, that 6'7 WR is Frank Martin, not Paul Charles, Charles was cut over the offseason. I figure Martin is a senior, plus Eric Monroe is 6'5, Coley is 6'3, those will likely be my redzone guys and I lean towards playing younger players. I actually should have changed Montgomery to HB in the offseason but forgot to do so.

          Yeah we have a lot of talent and athleticism. Problem is too many of our guys lack the soft skills like route running, tackling etc. Campbell and Nelson should be great change of pace guys to take the load off Montgomery, hopefully they can make some big plays.

          Yeah Henderson is the man. He's gotta cut down on the picks though, even though a handful were my fault haha. We've just gotta protect him and like you said, the defense is gonna have to give us something. I'm worried about the backers, we had Andy Davenport last year who was a 79 and kind of anchored the front 7, we don't have that kind of run stuffer anymore.

Should be interesting to see how you use Campbell, because he looks talented and like you said he could end up being a QB next season if BJ has a big year and decides to bolt. I was going to comment on how thin you were on the line, and then you get the brutal luck of the injury to your best lineman as well... could be a rough start to the year before you get things figured out in the trenches.

          What's your roll strategy for determining training camp injuries? I think now that I'll officially have all of the 'real' players out of my dynasty I'd like to throw in some twists and turns like that as well. I didn't see any specifics in your opening post.
          Glad you like the storylines, I always like to try to give my players some personality. Campbell has a great arm (90 thp) but suspect accuracy (72), so I really hope it doesn't come to playing him at QB. The line really does suck even with Jackson, and without him... it could be rough. Definitely going to be running a lot of 4 wide looks to make space.

          For injuries, I roll from 1 to 6 for the amount of injuries, then I roll from 1 to 9.

          Injury Length
          1 = 1 Week
          2 = 2-3 Weeks
          3 = 4-5 Weeks
          4 = 6+ Weeks (Max of Season Ending)
          5 = 1 Week
          6 = 2-3 Week
          7 = 4-5 Week
          8 = Season Ending
          9 = 1 Week

          Funnily enough, you asked me the exact same question a couple years ago in my old Swarm thread, saw it when I went back to that thread because I didn't remember the formula myself.

          I'm also trying to work out some kind of suspension system.

          Thanks for checking in guys! I'll be wrapping up the preseason tonight or tomorrow, then we can dive into year 2!

            Huge loss on the Offensive Line ! I would start Sean Robinson for playing time purpose (and AWR boost) but maybe burn the redshirt on Washington if he's subject to transfer due to playing time.

            Have a great season.

                Thanks man, appreciate it and appreciate you leaving a comment! I likely will start Robinson, I'm not too worried about Washington transferring, he's only a 64 after all.

                      Syracuse was the only AAC team to play in week 1. They lost to Northwestern, 38-35. I'll do top 25 and Heisman race starting next week when everyone has played.

                        Also, why the heck did Michigan schedule Appalachian State? As if we need them to ruin our program...again.

                          Last Meeting: Last year, in Dion Barkley's FBS coaching debut, Westlake State blew a 24 point lead at home losing 42-41 as Nevada QB Devon Jordan ran for 4 TDs.

                          Coach Barkley's Take

                          This is a highly winnable game. Their corners are weak, we will be able to beat them deep. Ryan Mitchell (83 spd, 78 awr, 84 thp, 85 tha) is dangerous, but not unstoppable if we keep him in the pocket and make him throw quickly. Senior tailback Derek Anderson (91 spd, 86 elu, 90 bcv) is a good back who will take advantage of any holes in our defense. Wideouts are weak, TE Greg Lamb (80 spd, 83 cth, 85 cit) is their best receiving option. DT Chris Lee (89 str, 91 pmv, 88 bsh) is a future pro, and he will give Sean Robinson all he can handle.

                          We can win this game, and I believe we will as long as we limit turnovers.

                            Hahaha I'm glad someone caught that, App State as the FCS team vs Michigan. It'll be interesting to see how Smith does at ECU.

                              BJ Henderson is ready to put this team on his back! I also love the other skill positions - it looks like you have a potential thunder and lightning tandem brewing in Montgomery and Campbell, and as you already know all those big bodied WRs have me drooling.

                              Having said that, I think this team goes as far as the offensive line. There’s a couple of really strong players up front, but after that, it kind of drops off. Games are won and lost in the trenches - I don’t care how much skill talent you have, if you don’t have a line, it doesn’t matter. It will be interesting to see how they hold up, and I think that’s the key for the swarm.

                              The defense is solid overall, but I don’t see them as a unit that can just carry the swarm to a bunch of victories yet. I think this is an offensive centric team that will need the OL to step up and make all the skill talent click - really interesting dynamic and I’m looking forward to it!

                              Also - love that you’re playing Nebraska!! I think this is the first dynasty on here that I’ve seen them be an opponent for someone, so I’m really looking forward to that matchup!

                              Finally - I think I’m going to have to steal your injury severity rolling system. I’ve always rolled the number of weeks remaining in the season, and he’s out for that many weeks, but shorter term injuries are more common, so I really like the way you’re doing it - going to borrow that if you don’t mind!

                                I agree that it'll come down to the OL. I played the Nevada game, it went very well as far as Henderson's performace but the line was poor. Luckily Nevada's pass coverage sucked, so we had guys open all day. Skill players are great, but there were some plays where there just wasn't anywhere to go, and against a good defense we'll have a tougher time. Defense is alright for the AAC I guess, but we have a lot of holes. Definitely going to be interesting to see how we overcome the poor line play, especially against better teams.

                                Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever played Nebraska before, just figured I'd throw them on there as my Big Ten opponent. They're probably going to destroy us, hopefully we can keep it close like we did at Ohio State last year.

                                Glad you like the injury system, although it isn't mine. I got it somewhere on this site a few years ago, I forget where exactly. I'm adopting your recruiting rules (with a slight tweak, counting pipelines the same as home state), so we're even if you wanna take the injury system haha. I had something for suspensions too, but I can't find where I'd written it down.

                                Thanks for checking in man!
