Tearz49ers Presents: The Hurd Of Thunder Returns! (CFB Revamped)

Prologue: So I tried again to start another dynasty with Vanderbilt but it failed and with the release of the community rosters I have decided to return to a South Florida to give this school another go. I had a dynasty with USF a couple of years back that sadly ended after a scheduling problem, but like my Kentucky Dynasty, this was one of my favorite reports and why I want to return with a new version using the CFB Revamped Mod.

I am going to be running this report as a more stripped-down version compared to years past, the days of spending hours updating graphics for weekly updates are gone however, that doesn't mean you won't see the use of graphics in this dynasty, it is what I do best after all.

    Platform: PC (RPCS3)

    Mode: Heisman

Rosters: NCAA Football 14: 2021-2022 Roster Update

Sliders: cgator22 PATCH111 Sliders (CFB Revamped Discord)

Gameplay Preferences: QTRS- 8 Mins, Home Field Advantage- Off, Ice The Kicker - Off, Fatigue - On.

Non-In-Game Tools: I will utilize the use of the Dynasty Editor, DB Editor, Dynasty Tool, NCAA 14' Utility Tool and I will be using FANGS (CFB Revamped Discord) recruit generator after the first two seasons where I will be using real classes.

Recruiting Restrictions: I will only be allowed to recruit a maximum of 2 five-star players until USF reaches a six-star prestige school, these five-star players must have USF listed in their top three schools and must be from the state of Florida.

I will not be utilizing NCAA '14 low lock cheese (for those who know what that is), this is the easiest way to turn a school around quickly and I am looking for a longer project with USF.

Red Shirts: I can only Redshirt players that are true freshmen, a maximum of 10 true freshmen can be redshirted per year.

Transfers: Players will be thoroughly examined before being accepted. Any player who is persuaded into staying must start the following year, except following positions: QB, MLB, K, P

Players Leaving Early: This will be done via the Dynasty Tool.

Cutting Players: I will not be allowed to cut any player from the roster if the team is below or at the roster maximum.

Freshman: True freshmen are given an additional 15 pounds during their first preseason to recreate the muscle they would gain in a S&C program. This is optional for the following positions: QB, HB, WR, K, P, CB, FS.

Injuries: With the limited amount of realistic injuries in this game I will be taking up Hellisan's method of injuries which utilizes Random.org to generate a number of injuries, which week and for how long (This includes a set amount from pre-season). A deeper explanation can be found here: The Career of J.D. Clark (NCAA 14)

Credits: Credits go to cfjunkie, matt10, Cheese2121, ToySoldier, ID, Deegezy, St.Fransisco, TBMiz, and many more for inspiring some of the creative work in this dynasty. Even if they had no impact on this specific dynasty, they have impacted my dynasty reports and my ideas in the past and deserve to be mentioned.

Please do not post yet, thankyou

The less said about the 2020 season for USF the better. Jeff Scott's first year as head coach can 100% be called a dud as the Bulls won only one game last season against FCS opponent The Citadel, the Bulls went on to finish the season 0-7 in ACC play and 1-8 overall, but let us be honest 2020 was a weird year for everyone!

Previewing the USF Offense in 2021:

The offense, which showed a glimpse of what it could be against Temple and UCF, mostly meandered its way through the 2020 season while the USF defense was outright awful. Fixing the quarterback situation was a big priority for Jeff Scott going into 2021. Simply put, the quarterback room was a mess in 2020, producing 216.6 yards per game and only 12 passing touchdowns, and with Jordan McCloud transferring to Arizona the primary passing position fell into a four-way battle between two transfer quarterbacks Cade Fortin and Jarren Williams, a true-freshman in Timmy McClain and sophomore Katravis Marsh, who was recruited out of Miami Central High, Fortin, however, came out on top.

The task for Fortin is to lead a Bulls offense that only cracked 40 points one-time last season and that came in the final game of the season against a UCF defense that ranked 121st in the country in passing yards allowed. Fortin will have four of the top five pass catchers from last season back. Whilst Bryce Miller didn't exactly light things up averaging under 10-yards per catch in the slot last season, he did lead the team in catches with 33 grabs. Omarion Dollison will add a veteran leadership with Latrell Williams on a medical redshirt this season. Xavier Weaver has big-play ability but must do more than his lowly ten grabs for 136-yards last season.

All five starters return across the offensive line this season, all seniors with terrific size and the running game wasn't all that bad behind them last season. Kelly Joiner is a speed back who led the team with 368-yards last season who will pair up with Colorado transfer Jaren Mangham. Brian Battie is a small, flashy type back who averaged 7-yards per carrying last season which was the most amongst all running backs. These three backs must improve on their 2020 totals and with longtime puzzle part Johnny Ford now at FAU the spotlight will be even more glowing on these three if USF is to improve on their 1-8 record from last season.

Previewing the USF Defense in 2021:

The Bull's defense must be more competitive in all areas. USF gave up 30 points or more in all but two games in 2020 with only Citidel and conference champion Cincinnati failing to amass that feat.

The defense is fortunate (some might say not so much) enough to get pretty much everyone back, but after allowing close to 441-yards of offense per game last season some will say it can only be up from here?

Senior linebacker Antonio Grier must be the anchor for a unit that was tied for 108th in the country for tackles for loss per game in 2020. Dwayne Boyles will once again partner Grier after finishing second in total tackles behind Grier last season with 44. Behind these two there isn't a whole lot of thump senior Andrew Mims and sophomore Mac Harris will provide sufficient enough rotations but a lot of pressure will fall once again on the shoulders of Grier and Boyles to lead this defense.

The defensive frontline has to get into the backfield and be more of a wall than the open door they were last season. Thad Mangum is a decent veteran alongside Blake Green and Kelvin Pinkney at 6-3, 315 lbs has the true size of a nose tackle. The ends have to get behind the line, though – the team came up with just 42 tackles for loss and a mere seven sacks with the linebackers doing most of the heavy lifting.

Junior Daquan Evans returns after leading the team in interceptions last season, but Mike Hampton is gone from the other side and there’s some shuffling to do at safety with third-leading tackler Nick Roberts leaving and veteran Bentlee Sanders taking off for Nevada. It looks as though sophomore T.J. Robinson will partner Evans at cornerback with fellow sophomore Matthew Hill being the only viable option at free safety. The unit will also pin hopes on incoming Miami transfer Christian Williams.

                  What Will Happen, Season Predition:

USF has been a leaking balloon for a while now. A program that went 11-2 in 2016, winning ten games in 2017 and beating both South Carolina and Texas Tech in their bowl games, starting the 2018 season 7-0 then, bang! The downward spiral began.

USF has lost 22 of their last 28 games. With a 1-8 record last season you can see things clearly are not going well down in Tampa. However, the Bulls did go on the road to play Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Houston last season so maybe we can cut them some slack? Well no, losing to East Carolina wasn't okay, nor was the loss to Temple.

In 2021, I cant see a massive jump up for USF, and whilst it will be an improved team (it can only be right?) I can still only see them winning three games, maybe four at a push.

USF has to beat Florida A&M, and it has to find a way to get by Tulsa and/or Houston and/or Temple at home to start turning this around. I really can't see this team getting much against NC State, Florida, BYU or SMU, and all of those games come in their first five scheduled games.

But it’s about how quickly the program can start to improve. The defense can’t and won’t be worse, there will be more big plays from the passing game, and the rebuilding job done last year will start to payoff.

I have 24 outgoing seniors at the end of this season and therefore I will be able to offer out the full amount of scholarships to the players I feel will come in and help improve this team from its current three-star prestige. The board currently has 25 players on it, however, this will change as I see fit as the season goes on.

Seeing as it is USF the board will consist of players ranging from 4-star to 2-star recruits. With how this roster looks this season I see any player as value for this team. The game also seems to take on its own mind and sign players with a 1-star rating and I will essentially consider these players as "walk-ons" should any be recruited this season.

I can't be picky when it comes to where USF is ranked on the recruit's top schools, however, all of the players on the board have USF in their top five schools.

In terms of scouting, I have only so far scouted at 25% this seems more realistic than knowing exactly what I am getting right from the start so take the overalls with a pinch of salt so far as these players ratings could go up or down as the weeks go on, or I may not even scout them again and have all the fun come in after signing day.

Thanks, everyone. It's been a long time since I had a report go multiple seasons, but this I hope will be the one. As always, thank you for following along.

College football's 2021 season is slated to start in late August, but it's never too early to project where all 130 teams will finish at the end of the year. Athlon Sports released its top 25 in May and now it's time to take a quick look into what we think about our Top 5 ranked teams. Alabama takes the top spot at No. 1, with Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M closing out the top 5.

There are plenty of questions to be asked in 2021, and a lot of our "so-called" top teams in the nation are going into this season with heavy turnovers in terms of players. It will be fun to see who ends this season on top, will it be the same old faces or will there be a surprise face making into the playoffs come December.

Despite losing a whole host of talent to the NFL Draft, it's hard to argue with a Nick Saban-led Alabama team coming in ranked No.1 this preseason.

On offense, the Tide has one of the best offensive tackles in the nation in Evan Neal and a linebacking core led by Christian Harris and Will Anderson, and this group got even richer with the transfer of Henry To'o To'o from Tennessee.

Quarterback Bryce Young looked sharp in the Tides spring game throwing for 333-yards and a touchdown and that will have both Saban and new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien rubbing their hands together as both will undoubtedly preach ball security as always this off-season. Freshman receiver Agiye Hall was impressive this spring and that will help as the Tide look to replace Heisman winner DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle as pass catchers.

The Sooners have claimed six Big 12 titles in a row, and coach Rileys team is a heavy favorite to win the league crown again in 2021. Oklahoma comes into pre-season ranked No. 2 in the nation behind Alabama and the Sooners will be led by an explosive offense with sophomore quarterback Spencer Rattler at the helm. Transfers Eric Gray (RB) and Mike Woods (WR) will combine with running back Kennedy Brooks to add a deep collection of talent at every skill position on this offense for Oklahoma.

The Sooners defense is improving under Alex Grinch. Linebacker Nik Bonnitto should push for double-digit sacks in 2021 and this is why the Sooners have a better chance to win a playoff game - or perhaps something bigger this postseason.

Even with the departure of star quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the Clemson Tigers should continue to be one of the best teams in college football. D.J. Uiagalelei demonstrated the ability to lead this Clemson offense in his relief of Lawrence last season.

As crucial as Lawrence has been to the Tigers, one of the critical components of Clemson’s most recent national championship success was a devastating defense. With the likes of Bryan Bresee, Myles Murphy, and Tyler Davis, they have the foundation of a similarly disruptive unit going into this season. Add in the return of linebacker James Skalski and the emergence of CB Andrew Booth Jr., and Clemson should once again be at the top of the college football rankings in 2021.

Ohio State still finds itself with not much clarity as to who will replace Justin Fields under center. Jack Miller III took the first snaps in the spring game, but it figures an ongoing competition will continue with C.J. Stroud and true freshman Kyle McCord. One thing that is clear is that freshman Treveyon Henderson, the No.1 running back in the class of 2021 is just as good as advertised and he will help this offense right out of the gate. Wide receivers Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson are both pre-season All-Americans and they will add the firepower to this offense.

Ohio State's defense, which was shredded for 621 yards in a 52-24 loss to Alabama in the CFP National Championship, has plenty of starters to replace, especially at linebacker and secondary. That wasn't easy this spring with projected starting cornerbacks Sevyn Banks and Cameron Brown sidelined with injuries. Safety Marcus Hooker was suspended after he pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while impaired in April.

The Bulldogs had their three-year run atop of the SEC east end last year at the hands of Florida. However, expect Kirby Smart's team to be in pole position for a return to Atlanta this season.

Georiga's offense averaged 8.3 points a game more with quarterback JT Daniels in the lineup and the USC transfer will benefit from a whole offseason with Todd Monken. Georgia is loaded at running back, and even with star receiver George Pickens sidelined indefinitely, this is a promising group of pass-catchers.

The Bulldogs should have one of the nation's best defensive fronts. Lineman Jordan Davis is an All-America candidate, and linebackers Adam Anderson and Nakobe Dean form a strong second level. Also, there’s a deep group of safeties in place with Tykee Smith, Christopher Smith, and Lewis Cine in the lineup.
