Not sure if its possible but should Syracuse/Ball State play each other, maybe you could play offense for both teams and have it be a absolute shootout, but at the time time I feel like the tread is about Coach Savage thus Syracuse deserves his full attention..

I know when I played Boise State when I was at Texas Tech those were always hard games for me. As was my first 2 games against BSU with Coach Miller. It's part of the reason I stopped scheduling the Broncos. Should Miller ever leave FIU I would probably wait a year or 2 before playing them with my new team.
I thought so too, but then looking at the standings South Carolina is 2nd in the Carolinas division at 5-2, with Clemson being 6-1. With the Palmetto bowl in Week 13. So if the Gamecocks win in week 14 they'll jump Clemson for the division.

I don't think it's possible to play both sides, but if I did it would be hard to be impartial as the game got close to the end ya know? Especially since if we stay on opposite sides it would be in the Natty. And yeah it would definitely be weird if you left FIU to play them immediately, or playing your hometown team in general. I thought about scheduling USC against Ball State one of the years, but opted against it lol I will likely do one if they're a top 15 team with next season with Syracuse. But we'll see.

Maryland Miracle Caps Perfect Season For Syracuse!

Jakhari Williams with the perfect pass placement, putting the ball just far enough in front of the DB for Phil Hutton to run under, secure the pass, and jet into the endzone for the walkoff 75 yard TD.

LEFT - Spencer Vernon showing the athleticism, going all the way down to snag the swing pass and take it 42 yards to set up JC Hoag's 1 yard TD to re-take the lead 34-31 with 1:11 remaining.
CENTER - Akeem Gee with the 26 yard TD pass to give Maryland a 31-27 lead, then Gee rallied the Terps for a 54 yard FG with 9 seconds remaining, seemingly sending the game into OT.
RIGHT - With 'Cuse trailing 24-20 early in the 4th, LB Sean Schlauderaff came up clutch with #B2Bsacks to set up the short field for Jakhari Williams 1 yard TD run.

College Park, MD. - Syracuse remained undefeated in dramatic fashion, securing a thrilling 40-34 victory over Maryland on the road to finish the regular season 12-0. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with Syracuse needing a last-second, 75-yard touchdown pass from Jakhari Williams to Phil Hutton as time expired to pull off the win.

Maryland struck first after a quick three-and-out by Syracuse set up the Terrapins in prime field position. Akeem Gee took advantage, hitting Robert Shead for 11 yards before keeping the ball himself for a 34-yard touchdown run. Syracuse responded immediately with an 80-yard screen pass to Ja’Meer Thomas, but Maryland regained the lead when Gee connected with Mekhai White on a 6-yard touchdown pass, making it 14-7 after the first quarter.

The Orange chipped away in the second quarter, getting a 35-yard field goal from Desmond Brewer before Jakhari Williams powered in a 1-yard rushing touchdown to give Syracuse its first lead with just 15 seconds left in the half. However, Brewer’s ensuing kickoff went out of bounds, giving Maryland a short field. Two plays later, kicker Lorenzo Angerer drilled a 49-yard field goal to send the teams into halftime tied at 17-17.

Maryland took control in the third quarter as Josiah McLaurin punched in a 5-yard touchdown run to put the Terrapins back in front, 24-17. Syracuse answered early in the fourth with another Brewer field goal from 40 yards out before Williams notched his second 1-yard rushing touchdown to give the Orange a 27-24 lead. Maryland, however, refused to back down, as Gee orchestrated a masterful drive, completing passes of 12, 21, 9, and 18 yards before finding Noah Teague for a 26-yard touchdown, reclaiming the lead for Maryland, 31-27, with just over two minutes remaining.

With the game on the line, Williams delivered for Syracuse. A 26-yard strike to Mateo Chickillo set the Orange up near midfield before a perfectly placed wheel route to Spencer Vernon, who made an incredible shoelace grab, went for 49 yards to the 1-yard line. JC Hoag powered in the go-ahead score, putting Syracuse up 34-31 with 1:11 left.

Maryland responded once again, as Gee orchestrated another quick drive to set up Angerer for a clutch 54-yard field goal with just nine seconds left, tying the game at 34-34. With overtime looming, Syracuse opted for a touchback to maximize the remaining time. On the first attempt, Maryland’s secondary deflected a deep shot, leaving only two seconds on the clock. Head coach Nash Savage dialed up the same play, but this time instructed Williams to target the one-on-one matchup with Hutton on the outside. Williams waited until the last possible moment before launching the ball, placing it perfectly over the defender and into Hutton’s hands in stride for a stunning 75-yard walk-off touchdown, securing the 40-34 victory.

With the win, Syracuse clinches a spot in the ACC Championship, where they will face South Carolina. The Gamecocks earned their place with a thrilling 33-30 double-overtime win over Clemson, setting up a showdown for the conference title.

Good luck with the Gamer's.. I wondered if that loss by Clemson cost them a spot in the Championship.. One thing I hope College Football 26 does a better job with is sim stats for RB's. It's crazy to see a team like South Carolina to have their leading rusher with 276 yds and 3 TD's.

They throw the ball 83% of the time according to the graphic that shows at the beginning of the game. I think the problem is that too many of the coaches have a super aggressive offensive slider, which means they pass more from what I've seen. But yeah, I agree. Maryland had two HBs that were 87+ but ran less than 15 times with them combined....not realistic lol

I was hoping for Clemson tbh, but SCU gave us a good game

LEFT - Dalvin Holley rising up to end the day for the Gamecocks, as the INT with 4:50 remaining would be the last offensive play for SCU.
CENTER - Dante Reno was nearly perfect on the evening, opening the game with a 50 yard TD to Debron Gatling, but his lone mistake came at the worst time.
RIGHT - South Carolina scored on back to back possessions to open the game, but Sean Schlauderaff and Jason Veasy made sure it wouldn't be there straight with a pair of sacks to force a punt from SCU.

Charlotte, NC. - In a hard-fought ACC Championship battle, No. 1 Syracuse completed its undefeated season with a 28-24 victory over No. 21 South Carolina at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The Orange overcame an early deficit and sealed the win with a game-clinching drive in the final minutes to secure their conference title and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

South Carolina came out firing, striking on just their third play from scrimmage when quarterback Dante Reno connected with Debron Gatling for a 50-yard touchdown. Syracuse responded quickly, with Jakhari Williams hitting Jaylan Hornsby for a 30-yard touchdown after completions of 9 and 14 yards earlier in the drive. The Gamecocks, however, continued their hot start as Reno completed passes of 42, 15, and 12 yards, the last one a touchdown to Denario Chester, putting South Carolina ahead 14-7. Syracuse had an opportunity to tie it up but missed a field goal on their next drive.

After South Carolina had scored on its first two possessions, the Syracuse defense stepped up in a crucial moment. Senior linebacker Sean Schlauderaff recorded a sack on second down, followed by a combined sack from Schlauderaff and Jason Veasy on third down to force a punt. Williams then led the Orange on a methodical drive, completing passes of 15 and 23 yards before scrambling for a 23-yard touchdown to even the score. Following a quick three-and-out by South Carolina, Syracuse continued its offensive rhythm, with Williams hitting passes of 20 and 25 yards before scrambling for another 17. Tevin Westerman capped off the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run in the final seconds of the half, giving Syracuse its first lead at 21-14.

The third quarter saw Syracuse attempt to slow the game down, but South Carolina managed to cut the deficit with a 54-yard field goal from Mason Love, making it 21-17 heading into the final period. The Gamecocks then put together a strong drive, featuring a mix of runs and short passes before Reno found John Ficken for a 1-yard touchdown, putting South Carolina back on top 24-21 with 9:17 left.

Syracuse responded immediately, with Williams delivering clutch completions of 5, 43, and 13 yards. JC Hoag then took over on the ground, ripping off a 15-yard run before finishing the drive with an 8-yard touchdown to reclaim the lead at 28-24 with 6:38 remaining. South Carolina attempted to mount another comeback, with Reno completing passes of 15 and 6 yards, but cornerback Devon Holley came up with the game’s first turnover, intercepting Reno with 4:50 left.

From there, Syracuse methodically ran down the clock behind nine carries from Hoag for 38 yards. Facing a crucial fourth-and-one at the South Carolina 9-yard line, head coach Nash Savage opted to go for it rather than attempt a field goal. Williams executed a perfect hard count, drawing the Gamecocks offsides with 1:08 left, allowing the Orange to kneel out the remainder of the game and secure the conference championship.

Elsewhere, Ball State captured its fourth consecutive MAC title with a 38-24 win over Toledo, led by Philip Onwualu’s four-touchdown performance, potentially solidifying his Heisman candidacy.

With the win, Syracuse finishes the season 13-0 and now awaits its seeding and opponent in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

Ball State Snubbed Again, Oregon Fans Left Baffled After CFP Bracket Announcement

Ball State fans are outraged after being snubbed by the College Football Playoff selection committee for the second straight year. Despite finishing in the Top 5 before winning the Mid-American Championship, they were once again downgraded in favor of a Power 5 program, forcing them into the first round of the CFP for the second consecutive season.

Last year, an undefeated 13-0 Ball State team was overlooked, and while this year’s 11-2 squad didn’t carry the same level of dominance, the frustration remains as they dropped from No. 4 to No. 7 in favor of Big 12 champion TCU.

While Ball State fans are frustrated, Oregon fans are outright livid after being left out of the CFP entirely despite winning the Pac-12 title with an 11-2 record.

“To be left out of the playoffs entirely, especially in favor of a Missouri team that didn’t even play in their conference championship game? We’ll be filing a complaint with the College Football Playoff committee,” said an infuriated Dan Lanning to the Eugene media following the selection announcement.

A source close to the CFP committee defended the decision, stating, “Frankly, two midseason losses to sub-.500 teams cost them. On top of that, Colorado in the Pac-12 Championship Game was the only ranked team they beat all year.”

Despite the protest from Oregon fans everywhere, the playoffs will go on as scheduled.

#11 San Jose State will travel to South Bend to face the #5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The TCU Horned Frogs await at the Sugar Bowl.

#9 Michigan will travel to Norman to face the #8 Oklahoma Sooners, with the undefeated Syracuse Orange looming in the Orange Bowl.

#12 Missouri will travel to Louisiana to face the #3 Tigers with a Rose Bowl berth on the line against #6 UAB.

#10 Boston College will head west to Muncie, Indiana for a showdown with Ball State with a Texas showdown against Alabama in the Cotton Bowl on the line.

Nash Savage Coached Players Clean Up Award Ceremony

New York City, NY. - For three years at Ball State, Philip Onwualu was the steady force. While Kadin Semonza led the team and Nyck Harbor made highlight-reel touchdown grabs—setting both single-season and career touchdown records—Onwualu was the glue that held it all together. Year after year, he delivered, quietly stacking up three consecutive seasons of 100+ receptions, 1,500+ yards, and 19+ touchdowns. But this season, it was finally his time to shine.

                      And he delivered a masterpiece.

Despite entering the season without the coaching staff that recruited him and without longtime teammates Semonza and Harbor, Onwualu turned in a career year, rewriting the record books along the way. He shattered Harbor’s career receiving yardage record (now at 7,173 yards and counting) and surpassed Zay Flowers’ career receptions record of 399, pushing the new mark to 448 and beyond.

Week after week, Onwualu was unstoppable for a Ball State team navigating major offseason changes. He posted at least 10 receptions in nine of the Cardinals’ 13 games, recorded multiple touchdowns in nine of them, and surpassed 100 yards in 11. He capped off his Hall of Fame-worthy career with a six-game stretch that saw him average 12 receptions, 219 yards, and over four touchdowns per game following Ball State’s stunning upset loss to Central Michigan.

As the Cardinals prepare for next week’s College Football Playoff first-round matchup against No. 10 Boston College, Onwualu has a chance to make even more history. With 92 career touchdowns, he sits just four shy of tying Harbor’s record of 96. A deep playoff run could see Onwualu cement himself as the all-time leader in career receptions, yards, and touchdowns—the receiving triple crown.

Even in defeat, Nash Savage’s current star, HB/WR Spencer Vernon, who finished second to Onwualu in the voting, showed nothing but respect. As Onwualu made his way to the stage, Vernon greeted him with a congratulatory handshake before Savage gave the senior WR a few congratulatory words.

Onwualu didn’t just win the Biletnikoff Award—he also took home the Maxwell and Walter Camp Awards, further solidifying his place as college football’s most dominant wide receiver.

Savage’s Syracuse squad had a successful night at the awards ceremony as well. Linebacker Sean Schlauderaff claimed the Bednarik, Nagurski, and Butkus Awards, senior safety CJ Ziemann took home the Thorpe, Spencer Vernon earned the Doak Walker, Jason Veasy secured the Lombardi, and Jakhari Williams was honored with the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Savage himself was recognized for his leadership, winning the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award for the second time in four seasons. With Syracuse heading into the College Football Playoff as the No. 1 seed, and Ball State making their third consecutive CFP appearance, the stage is set for an unforgettable postseason.

LEFT - With Jakhari Williams out of the game, the 'Cuse Crushers knew they had to come up big in the contest and put Syracuse up in the 1st Q with a sack by CJ Ziemann in the end zone.
CENTER LEFT - MLB Jayden Brown with the peanut punch to force the fumble, setting up JC Hoag's 1 yard TD and a 15-3 lead.
CENTER RIGHT - Cox was efficient controlling the 'Cuse offense, but two pick sixs gave Oklahoma some late life, including this short 6 yard interception return.
RIGHT - Syracuse came up with three interceptions on the day, with Bradley Land picking off the redzone pass in the final two minutes to slam the door on a potential comeback by Oklahoma.

Miami, FL. - The top-ranked Syracuse Orange punched their ticket to the College Football Playoff semifinals with a commanding 36-17 victory over #8 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, but the win came at a cost. Star quarterback Jakhari Williams suffered a dislocated ankle in the first quarter, ending his collegiate career. Backup Jumaane Cox stepped up in relief, leading the Orange to a dominant first-half performance that ultimately sealed the game.

Syracuse’s opening drive stalled, and Oklahoma took advantage of a short field to put the first points on the board with a 25-yard field goal by Robert Ferwerda. However, the Sooners’ offensive momentum was short-lived. Syracuse’s defense immediately responded, as safety Tucker Colman intercepted Oklahoma quarterback Joshua Pettis after two incompletions.

Moments later, Williams suffered his devastating ankle injury on an option run, forcing Syracuse to turn to Cox. The Orange managed to tie the game with a 27-yard field goal from Desmond Brewer. Their defense then delivered a momentum-shifting play when senior safety CJ Ziemann sacked Pettis in the end zone for a safety, giving Syracuse a 5-3 lead.

With Cox settling in at quarterback, Syracuse tacked on another Brewer field goal before Jayden Brown forced a fumble on Oklahoma’s Avery Penny, setting up a short JC Hoag touchdown run. The floodgates opened from there, as Cox found Phil Hutton for a 30-yard touchdown and later capped off the half with a 1-yard quarterback sneak, leaping over the pile to put the Orange up 29-3 at halftime.

Oklahoma’s defense provided a spark in the third quarter, as David Jewell returned an interception six yards for a touchdown, after the Sooners 4th down failure on the 2 yard line, to trim the deficit. But Syracuse responded immediately, with Cox launching a 50-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Meer Thomas to push the lead back to 36-10.

Oklahoma’s only other score came in the fourth quarter when Nate Sami returned an 88-yard interception for a touchdown. However, the Sooners’ offense never found its footing, and Pettis’ fourth interception of the game—picked off by cornerback Bradley Land in the red zone with 3:14 remaining—sealed the win for the Orange.

Despite the victory, the loss of Williams looms large for Syracuse as they prepare for their playoff semifinal matchup. The redshirt senior’s college career comes to an abrupt end, and the Orange will now turn to Cox to lead them the rest of the way.

Syracuse’s defense proved to be the difference in the Orange Bowl, forcing four interceptions and holding Oklahoma’s offense to just 3 points. Now, with the national championship still in reach, the Orange must regroup and adjust as they continue their quest for a title. Syracuse heads to the desert next week to face the #3 LSU Tigers in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl at Glendale Stadium.

If the CPU actually ran the ball I would say your in trouble cause it looks like they got 2 very talented RB's but we know they will get like 8 carries and then throw the rest of the game
                                .

I was a little shocked Ball State went out in Round 1
