Re: Kyle Anderson: The Journey to the Pro's

              Draft Day:

This is the day where playing for your childhood teams could be achieved or defeated. This is where champions start. Waiting in the stands at the Bell Centre was a tough thing to do. Watching superstars go up to the podium and putting on that jersey, you want to do that yourself.

During christmas, I was projected to be in the First Round, and was selected to play on Team Canada's successful "Drive for Five" Team. But after the tourney, my play went downhill slightly and everybody else got better, dropping me to where I am now.

At the begining of round 2, I was ready to get drafted, thinking that the projection of lower 2nd round could be incorect. Then the Oilers went up to the podium.

"I Steve Tambilni of the Edmonton Oilers, select 40th overall,.."
My fingers crossed hoping for the Next words to be Kyle Anderson...
"We select Zach Budish of Edina High School".

              Damn.

              But then the Unexpected happened.

The Pitsburgh Penguins walk up to the podium, with a few of there other draft picks.

"We the Pittsburgh Penguins, are proud to select 50th overall in the NHL Entry Draft, from the Windsor Spitfires, Kyle Anderson."

I almost jumped three feet in the air when I heard Windsor, but then to hear my name called, I did, I was overwhelmed with happiness with my family gathering around me, and congrauating me on being drafted, and I walked up to the podium and recieved my New Teams Jersey.

                    Speaking of penguins..

                    I'm completely lost right now.

I do not know whether I should go for the Caps or the Pens...
There both my favorite teams in the playoffs right now.

I think I like Washington a hair better but I think that the pens have every single aspect needed to win a cup making them a favored and respectable team..

Kyle, not trying to hijack the thread...just a comment =]

Re: Kyle Anderson: The Journey to the Pro's

I also have to say lets go Caps because they are an under dog and Im likning Vharlamov (Caps Goalie) right now.

Not truely a hard core pens fan (still do like them) (go Oilers). It actually was like a draft process, went through a projected draft and found someone to replace on any team.

Update Coming Very Soon (like now) just have to write it up

                          Game 1: Hershey Bears (0-0-0) at Wilkes-Barrrie/Scranton Penguins (0-0-0)

                          HER:1 WBS:2 F

That first time stepping on the ice for your first professional game is unforgetable. Crowd cheering, music blaring, adrenaline pumping. Everything is on. Then you step on the ice and hear the crowd roar. Even if it is the AHL, you still went to bed every night thinking about that very moment.

Tonights game brought a completly different aspect of mine to the table tonight. Im used to putting the puck in the net, I still got 12 shots off, but no goals. Even more unusual was the fact that I got TWO assists, and two penalty minuets.

Coach isnt happy that I kept screwing up on good shot opertunities but is happy about my unknown passing ability. I guess this is going to be different.

                          STATS:
                          0G/2A/2PTS/2PIM/+1/12 Shots/ 2ND Star
