Poll thread regarding my future BAP, and Mikko

hey all. I really, really, really hate cluttering up the hockey dynasty HQ forums, especially with the recent influx, and I've always found poll threads somewhat annoying, but I kind of need a little help with decision making.

As you all know, I will be going to university next year, and really have no idea what awaits me. I will probably have an insane amount of work, which is why my parental units are disallowing me to bring my xbox 360 or ps2 or any gaming console with me to my dorm. Now, my university is about half an hour away from my house, so I can drop by whenever and play a couple of games. But, like I said, I have no idea what my workload will be like.

Which is why I'm stumped. I'm wondering if I should start my BAP on NHL 09, seeing as I most likely won't be buying NHL 10, and start it NOW so that if I do start out university with tons of work, I will still have something, or if I should start it later, and risk not being able to cope with things once university starts.

Also, just so you know, me starting a new BAP does NOT mean that I will be randomly finishing Mikko. I'm going to give you a guys a (hopefully) worthy ending to his story, and not going to leave you all hanging in the dust.

Hey Shinder!

To be honest with you, I have not voted.

It really depends and there is so many possibilities and outcomes.

Maybe you can make a BAP now and save all of your updates and post them while at NYU.

Like you said, you could make an EHM BAP, but I'm not too sure how that will turn out, but it will still be interesting to see.

Maybe work will not be that hard at NYU and you can update and make your own while you get out and are not partying(I'm sure your a chick magnet )

As of now, I'm going to voice in my vote as "Option B" but you do need to understand that there is soooo much different stuff that can happen.

I hope we don't loose you next year as you have become one of my best friends at OS and I'm sure, and others are sure that we do not want to have your funny (yet stupid ) comments or your amazing writing or your awesome dynasties to go away!

thanks for the in-depth reply mate.

You are quite correct by saying that a lot of things may happen. I'm not too sure what my workload at NYU might be, but I'm sure it will be more than the hour of homework i received nightly at high school, and I could barely balance that with my video games, so....hehe.

To be honest, I'd like not to have a comp full of un-posted updates. It's not like it takes up a bunch of space, but let's just say that the reason my preds dynasty was updated so quickly at first was because I had about the first year and a half already saved, and as you can tell, I have a problem keeping updates nicely spaced out when I've got them already saved.

To be honest, I've already started writing a ton of the updates that occur before the game-part for this new BAP.

I think I'll start playing a couple of games for the new one tonight, and then wait one or two more days to see what other people think.

Just so everyone is clear, though, Mikko's not going to be changed or worsened at all. I was planning on ending him soonish, though, anyways, so I just have to work on his last few posts!!!!

Although I am sad to see that Mikko is ending, I can't wait to see how you do it...I'm sure it will be amazing (no pressure )

It's too bad that the best BAP on this site will be going away, and it's even more sad that you might not be around as much as you are now, but school is more important. I hope you'll still be able to come here from time to time, and update your new BAP which I am confident will be the best one here again. It will be a smooth transition as Mikko passes the torch to the new guy.

I guess my vote would be to start it now. And you can update when you get to school when/if you find the time. You can lay the groundwork now, instead of trying to figure everything out when you start school, when you'll already have enough to deal with.

thanks DT. as you know, I'm a huge fan of your BAP, so it certainly really means a lot to me whenever you praise any of my works. That's why I've already started the beginning writing NOW, to lay the groundwork, as you say. If I end up having no time at NYU, I'll still have all of the beginning parts already released and whatnot.

Hopefully, by the time I've set it up so that I'm ready to play the 1st game of the BAP, things will have made themselves more clear, and I'll be able to decide if I want to hold out until September-ish, or start releasing the games now.

Mikko was going to come to a close, either way. I was planning on ending him right around now, anyways, so hopefully things will all work out.

To make a poll, when you create a new thread, towards the bottom of the screen in "additional options" you should see the option to make a poll.
