as someone currently at college, i feel i can say with reasonable assurance what to do. given that you'll be playing club hockey, that will take up a lot of time. however, that and studying will not prevent you from playing video games. trust me. with the minimal games i had, i tried to average about 3-4 (or 1.5-2 hours) games a day, which would allow me to spend plenty of time doing work and other activities(ie staying in shape/working out). given that i am at cornell, i can say that going to a comparable school to yours. you don't realized how much free time you have at school. all of a sudden you have these randoms hours you need to fill. of course studying will be a part of this but video games can provide a neccessary stress release from the pressure especially your program (which sounds hard). just know that i am not a loser. i did have a life and i did party, so one can balance all three.

Re: Poll thread regarding my future BAP, and Mikko
kzoz, the truth is that I'm not worried about lack of time--my MOTHER is.
My mother is refusing to let me take my xbox 360 or ps2 or anything to college with me. And although I only live like a 30 minute train ride away, it still might be hard to come out every day to come back home for just an hour and a half or so, just so I could play videogames.
After the 1st semester or year, if I'm doing reasonably well, I'm sure she'd let me take it. But I wouldn't have a ton of time to come into my house every day or even every other day just to play videogames.Comment

convince her to let you take one. that would be key and a fairly reasonable proposition. if your grades slip then no dice, she takes it home. its a fair compromiseComment

She's not the easiest nut to crack, either. Imagine Kyle's mom from South Park, just not as fat and ugly ;-)
If anything, I should argue to her with your way of thinking, and also because I deserve an xbox, seeing as I got into a great school like NYU. Yet if I mentioned this she'll probably begin yelling at me hysterically, haha.Comment

not with my mom, haha. she established the idea of me not bringing my xbox 360 to university ong before JUNIOR YEAR started, haha.
