The 3rd and final day of training,
Expert, Richard Matvichuk,

Today was one solidly driven day of shot blocking with Richard Matvichuk. Matvichuk likes to dive to block a shot which is what he had me do. He said, “If you can stop your goalie from having to make a save, do it.” I figure I wound up bruising places I didn’t know I had because I spent a whole hour doing it. The good news is I was a new man for the Blazers memorial cup game, a game that would be my last. In that game, I scored, assisted on one, and blocked 15 shots to clinch the cup. Fast forward to the draft, it’s a sunny day great weather and we’re crammed inside. I jumped from 45th-15th over one season. I waited for the call, Carey 1, Gibson 2, Harrison 3, King 4, and Larson 5. Skip to the 15th pick. “With the 15th pick in the 08 draft,” Burke announced, “The Anaheim Ducks are proud to select Andrew Niedermayer of the Kamloops Blazers.” I Got up, hugged my parents and uncle and walked to the stage while taking off my suit jacket. When I got to the stage I shook everyone’s hands threw the jersey on and put the cap on. I was on my way to the NHL, I was a Duck.

As I walked into Burkes office with Epps, he said that he wanted to give me a 2 way $875,000 for 1 year to test me out. He said if I accepted I would start in the AHL on the 3rd pairing but would move up or down every 2-3 games. Epps and I accepted. Burke handed me my expectations, 14 assists, 42 points, 192 shots, and +10 +/-. It was a stretch but if I got moved up it would be easy.

After the game I was approached by our captain Bobby Ryan, “Hey Andrew,” he said, “Here’s the puck you scored your goal with.”
“Thanks man,” I replied.
“Hey, um, Brett (Festerling) Brian (Salcido) Josh (Green) Adam (Lewis) Brendan (Mikkelsson) and I are all going over to the bar, wanna come?”
“Sure man.” I arrived at the bar with the guys,
“One round on the house on me,” Josh said.
“Thanks Josh” I said.
“Hey, I got the Hat-Trick.”
I then bought the house a round for everyone as well for my goal. Half of us were wasted the rest close to it. The next thing I remember is waking up in my apartment, how I got there, I don’t want to know. Then Salcido walked out of his room.
“Brian, how’d I get back here?”
“Easy you needed my help but at 2 AM we walked up here.”
“Thanks for the help.”
“No problem, oh, be careful of your nose.”
“My what?” I responded.
“When we were walking back, you walked into a lamp post hard, it’s just bruised though.”
“Damn, I wish I could have seen your face from laughing.”
“You can, I recorded it.”
“Great, where did you post it?”
“You’ll see Monday.”
“Joy.”

Monday, Pre game.

I walked into the dressing room hearing barks of laughter, the guys were watching me walk into a lamp post repeatedly.
“Here he comes now,” I heard Salcido say.
“Hey Andy, how’s your girl friend?” Drew Miller asked.
“Which one?” I responded.
“The one you hit on last night,” Drew said.
“I hit on a girl?”
“Yeah, Lampy, you hit her hard,”
“Har Har Drew, let’s just get out there and play.”
“Yeah guys, he’s had enough for now.” Bobby Bolts said.

Hey this is rlly good, id just add abit more colour maybe to the game summaries other wise great job!

The problem is the color to use with Iowa, they have black jerseys with a little red and silver so I guess I could use those, or find a color that goes with Anaheims.

that game against hartford is not correct. it should say 4-2 hartford win. with 2g 2a for cosgrove
