Bure led the team with 51 goals and 48 assists and 99 points. Had 16 goals in the playoffs...

Sorry OBG I didn't see this post. Man...Bure had a really good season for you. I dunno if my version will duplicate that. We shall see. So far he's pointless in the preseason

All I can say is wow.....WOW....WOOOOW! I all but wrote this game off. I was creating scoring chances but nothing was going in. I was pretty frustrated but I kept at it. I scored both 3rd period goals in the last minute of play!!! I knew I had the momentum going into OT and then they took a penalty right after the face off. I was able to capitalize! So I'm starting to really get the hang of this game and I was able to score and two of them were on the power play! Now if only the Capitals could get going. Bure is still pointless. Perhaps its his linemates? Not sure.

Well the Caps finally got going! Set the tone of the game with two power play goals in the first and two more goals in the second period. Really happy with the win. Just for the record Tait is rated (83) and Bure is (85). Tried to make them realistic without making them ridiculous. I haven't messed with any other ratings on the Capitals/Bears. They are standard EA issue.

When ever I've played with Bure, he was usually on the first line with my top center and a grinder on the other wing.

or...

I would play Bure on the second line with a decent center another grinder where the primary purpose was to get Bure the puck whereas when he was on the first line Bure's playmaking skills were more involved.

If I were you I would go something like this...

Ovechkin on the first line with your top center, Bure on the second line with your number two center, and then Semin on the third line...

wow...thats scary.

Makes me wanna do something like this...

Bure to the...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

...but the saints must keep marching. I've determined to take my Blues until I win the Cup.

Well I'm going to play Hershey's last two preseason games and the Caps last two tonight. Then I'm hoping to post a season preview and maybe a story or two tonight after the games.

The season preview is where I will announce the lines. I will let the rest of the preaseason games play out and then see what lines I'm going to roll with. Bure has been on the 2nd line in Hershey. The first three games he was with LW Osala(powerforward), C Aucoin(playmaker) and Bure on the RW. The fourth game I brought Geoff Sanderson(sniper, I believe) up to the second line LW. Sanderson's presence seemed to jump start Bure so I'm curious to see how the next two games go.

I know you mentioned putting a grinder on Bure's line? I'm curious as to your thought process on that

I'm sure glad I made that line change! The Sanderson, Aucoin, Bure line has been on fire ever since I put them together. They dominated the offensive zone and cause a lot of havoc! In OT Bure created a turn over in the defensive zone, skated through the neutral zone up the left side and ripped a wrist shot for the win! It was magical I think this is the third OT game for Hershey. They're making it hard for me to get games in, LOL!

The empty net AI logic is horrific! The AI shoots as soon as it hits center ice and I've only seen them miss once on an empty net. Not to mention that the defensive AI shows no aggression or urgency to attack the puck carrier. We have no goalie!!! Get the puck back! I waited a few games to vent on this just to make sure I wasn't crazy but it is really bad! Anyway...sorry

Happy to Semin and Morrison finally on the score sheet. I can't seem to win with the Caps. Might have to make some roster/line adjustments.

Yeah...pulling the goaltender is unfortunately really useless.

As far as why I put grinders on the Bure lines...

Well...there are only so many pucks and Bure gets a lot of them. I've found that wingers who played the opposite side of Bure would either really flourish or totally suck. So...it would usually begin with Bure playing with the best winger, and if that didn't work...the second line became the Pavel Bure show so that the strategy was clear and consise...no confusion as to who was getting the puck.

The first period was an absolute shock to me. It was like the last two games were a build up to this offensive expolsion. The 2nd line of Sanderson, Aucoin and Bure just dominated again. Very exciting finish to the preseason...this just made roster decisions veeerrrryyy interesting. Especially if the Capitals don't start scoring in their last game....

Ok, so I'm not the only one. It's sad but hey the rest of the game is pretty amazing so I guess you can't have everything. Just have to make sure I don't need to pull the goalie...ever...

That totally makes sense about Bure. I was thinking that maybe having a grinder on his line would help with the "dirty work" in the corners so he wouldn't have to waste energy doing that or something like that.
