Rookie looses first fight, notches first goal.

The Colorado Avalanche faced off against the Nashville predators tonight and Jamie Chattaway finally put the puck behind the goalie. He scored his first goal in the second period with 1:09 remaining. Chattaway also lost his first NHL fight tonight against Jordin Tootoo.

Chattaway Unleashes a never before seen anger.

Avalanche center Jamie Chattaway wasn't known for fighting in the WHL, he is now. The rookie got into two fights in tonights game against the blackhawks, one of them was started by his temper getting the best of him.

The fight started on a simple play, Johnathan Toews had the puck against the boards and a battle ensued, resulting in Chattaway getting a holding minor, no problem, untill... on his way to the box Jamie was deliberately slashed multiple times by Blackhawks tought guy Dustin Byfuglien, who didn't get called for the penalty. Chattaway would have none of this,so he facewashed Byfuglien, a fight ensued (Byfuglien and Chattaway's second fight of the night, the first was won by Chattaway and he had an instigator penalty tacked on to the fighting one.) Chattaway was the victor of the bout but was enraged to find out that on top of his 7 minutes for holding and fighting, he was held accountable for unsportsmanlike conduct. 9 minute penalty for Chattaway didn't sit well. so in the third period he set up the game tying and game winning goals.

Enraged and Surprised rookie speaks out against Ref for game and GM for decision

After the Blackhawks lost to the Avalanche on thursday night, the question buzzing around the league has been:

"Does Jamie Chattaway belong in the NHL or UFC?"

The answer is simple according to Av's GM Greg Sherman, Neither.

"Thursday would be surprising for a tough guy, it would be questionable for a grinder, but for a dangler? and a rookie nonetheless? It was down right despicable, so, he will spend some time with Lake Erie in the AHL to sort out his game, and lower his temper" Said Sherman in an interview after the game.

Chattaway had this to say in retaliation to getting 16 penalty minutes against the Blackhawks:

"Either those refs were stoned out of there mind or they are completely bias towards there hometown team, Dustin [Byfuglien] clearly slashed me multiple times, so I retaliated, I should never have been called for unsportsmanlike, and my team mates know it [and] back me up on it, Greg Sherman knows it but doesn't want to do anything about it, that ref knew it too, but he called it anyways..."

And this about his being sent down to the AHL:

"whats this I hear about getting sent down to the L E M? [Lake Erie Monsters] Thats just retarted, I lead the Avalanche in points and they send me down!? whats with Shermans system? I guess I'll just have to show him how valuable I can be! Pfft Send me down!?"

Rumor has it that Jamie has demanded a trade to a team that "Respects a guy who can score goals and who doesn't take crap." we will see what happens.

Chattaway gets goal, two assists in AHL debut

Lake Erie Monsters recieved center Jamie Chattaway from there mother team, the Colorado Avalanche. Jamie Debuted in tonights game and we saw sparks of his style from the WHL, he had no penalty minutes, got one goal and notched two assists.
