Hello all my fellow dynasty writers. Since I've joined this website I've learned a lot about this NHL game; and I've since learned how to enjoy it even more then I did right out of the box. As many of you know I've been keeping an Ottawa Senators Dynasty going and wanted to expand my horizons with my new found knowledge in the Western Conference.
Seems like we have quite a following in the Pacific Division so I'll keep that going with the San Jose Sharks. As you know, they have had a good team for a number of years but have never been able to overcome that playoff hurdle. As a GM I will try to bring the cup back home to San Jose.
I know some may be concerned about my Ottawa dynasty but have no fear, that will always be my passion franchise and I absolutely love it; I just need something else so I don't get too far ahead of myself by keep playing that dynasty (I'm already halfway through the 2nd year. I have a lot of posting to do).
Anyways, since I've learned so much from this site I've been able to import actual rosters from the NHL since the deadline. I have the full prospect list for this years draft (Will have double set of rookies this year, minor hiccup). I had to redo my franchise after I started it today because every team was at 44 max for roster size. I had to drop 2 or 3 minor leaguers in order to get them to sign their draft picks.
I've imported sweet music sets for Break In Play, Goal Songs, Home Team Intros, Penalties Home and Away, and Intermission. Thus making the game more immersive.
I've also read a lot about the CAP issue of having good players in the FA pool after 1 year (It happened in my Ottawa franchise sadly) so I have the CAP off but will adhere to the guidelines as if there really was a CAP.
I also turned of CPU trading as it will seem more realistic. I will turn this on during the last 2 weeks of November, The Trade Deadline, and the 2010 Draft Day.
I'm still deciding on presentation at the moment. It could be a variety from box scores to newspaper articles. We'll see what I come up with.
One other thing, to make things interesting on the prospects list, I changed the names of 4 prospects to myself and my 3 friends. It'll be interesting to see where they end up.
