Florida Panthers - Finally Getting On Track

The Florida Panthers come into the 2014-2015 season in an interesting position, their team filled with young talent, and having little success over recent years the team would be best served to continue rebuilding and growing young talent. But last season the team made a move that had been speculated for awhile and brought veteran goaltender Roberto Luongo back to the team which makes a lot of experts wonder if the team is going to speed up its plan and try to win sooner than later.

General Manager Dale Tallon made it clear what is expectations are when he released the following statement just days before the start of the preseason:

"This team is full of young skilled players who are ready to take the next steps in their careers. Along with the veteran leadership we have brought into the team and the solid goaltending we will get from Luongo, I think that we should set a goal for ourselves to make the playoffs this year"

GM TALLON BUSY PRIOR TO PRESEASON START

Prior to the start of the NHL season GM of the Florida Panthers was very busy bringing in some veteran leadership and experience as he signed the following players:

            D Tomas Kaberle
            1 year $1.026M
            563 points in 984 games

            D Sami Salo
            1 year $2.06M
            339 points in 879 games

            Daniel Alfredsson
            1 year $3M
            1,157 points in 1,246 games

Tallon also added a bit of depth with a young center with some potential to become a pretty good player:

            Andrei Loktionov
            2 years $.740M per year
            48 points in 155 games

it was like 7 goals on something like 27-28 shots... then to come right back with a shutout... more unpredictable goaltending than the leafs lol

TOMAS KABERLE IS STILL PLAYING HOCKEY!?!?!?!

(yes, I'm aware he is on the Hartford Wolfpack IRL).

Also, the goaltending physics in the game are still off.

                              Florida Panthers 1 (3-1-0) @ Washington Capitals 2 (3-1-0)

Both teams surprised everyone in this game and played a very slow paced, defense focused game tonight leading to a 2-1 win for the Capitals. Florida had a good sign as young D-man Olsen got an assist in his first game of the year.

                              Florida Panthers 5 (3-2-0) @ Colorado Avalanche 4 (2-1-3)

The Panthers came back late in the 3rd period scoring 3 straight goals to beat the Avalanche in Colorado. Florida got a good showing from young D-Man Gudbranson as he picked up a pair of points to help the team win.
