There is a Storm Brewing!!!! Carolina Hurricanes Be A Gm

    The Hurricanes Make Shocking News

The Hurricanes owner made it extremely clear that he listens to the fans and still believes this is a winning team.

Just days after Ron Francis traded away beloved Captain Eric Staal he got the call from the owner Peter Karmanos Jr. to pack up his office and get the hell out. Sources say with the outcry of anger from the fans about the trade and with the fact that Karmanos was so close to his star player that its what got Francis fired.

Karmanos did say the the moment the trade went down he was on the phone with potential replacements. "I loved Eric like a son and for him to get traded hurt me, the city, and I'm sure Eric himself."

New General Manager Hired in Carolina and already making a splash

Hours after News that Matthew Weber would be announced as GM of the Hurricanes Trades and signings became flying into the NHL for approval

    Coyotes Receive: Wallmark, 2018 third
    Hurricanes Get: Shane Doan

    Jets Receive: C.Camara, D.Biega, and D.Robertson
Hurricanes Get: 4th Round pick (2016)

Devils Receive: B.Woods, Third round pick 2021, and 2019 6th round pick
    Hurricanes Get: Patrik Elias

Hurricanes also sign (D) Eric Brewer and (LW) Alexander Semin

Weber had this to say about the moves "I know how this may look with us trading picks and prospects for old players with big contracts but I can assure everyone that I have a plan in place to help this team be competitive this season and not mess up the future. All the Players i traded and signed bring us the needed veteran leadership that the younger guys on this team needs but also the fact that they are all on the last years of there contracts so really we are not taking a big risk here. With the picks we traded away they are all years away when we feel like we should already be established as a title contender. Fans are going to love or hate this but believe me I do feel like we can be competitive this year and let our players that need to be in the minors getting playing time down there before rushing them up to the hurricanes before they are ready."

Fans have mixed emotions about the moves.

"A lot of what Weber said was true about why the moves we done but he is going to make us watch a bunch of old washed up injury prone crap. I would rather watch young talent then this ancient team we have now!" said one fan

"If we can win now and not morgage the future then why not see what happens. Hurricanes fan til I die!!!" said another fan.

I agree they are going to be an interesting rebuild. They weren't the team i was going to pick at first but my kid seen me starting to play and loves watching me. He likes the hurricanes (idk Why but he does) so he was really wanting me to chose them. I'm not entirely sure of the direction I'm going to go with them but they have a lot of middle round picks and with the veterans with expiring contracts will have a ton of cap space.

'Canes Get Hot After Awful Start

The 'Canes started the season of with what looked like it was going to be a huge win against the predators. Down 2-1 with only 20 seconds left in the opening period Lindholm scored the tying goal to send the game into OT. A lot of back and fourth play all ended when Forsberg Scores the game winning goal off of a rebound with 6 seconds left in OT. GM Matthew Weber had this to say after the game, "We never gave up and we fought hard. Yea I felt like we should have got this game to a shootout but their guy was in the right place at the right time."

The hurricanes season got off to a rocky start after that with a record of 2-4-2 in there first 8 games. Fans were already calling for Weber's head with the moves before the season to get aging veterans. "Its only 8 games ad it will get better. We just need to be patient." Weber urged the fans.

Then the team got hot. A 1-0 win in Detroit followed up with a 4-2 win on road to the islanders and a 1-0 win at home to the Avs got this team and the fans feeling like maybe this team wont be so bad. Finishing the month with a 5-4-2 record is right around where Weber had seen this team being at this point considering that they played 8 of their 11 games in October on the road.

9 of the Hurricanes 12 games are at home so if they can build on the momentum they started at the end of October and carry that going forward maybe just maybe this team could make the playoffs.

Hurricanes Vs Lightning Game Gets Ugly

The Hurricanes started November off with a game that they were huge underdogs for considering they were taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning. Too say it was a defensive battle was on understatement of a lifetime. Multiple big hits and even an ejection. With the big hit after big hit multiple fights breaking out through the first two and a half periods things reached an ugly point as James Wisniewski seen Tyler Johnson up against the boards trying to get the puck. Wisniewski charged in at Johnson and hit in directly from behind into the boards. It was pretty obvious that it was in retaliation to a hit that Coburn had laid on Staal earlier in the period. Johnson was seen needing help getting off the ice with what appeared to be a neck or head injury and Wisniewski night was done.

"It was the most disgusting act I have ever seen it hockey. That should be assult on what that P.O.S did to Johnson," Cooper said after the game. The Hurricanes managed to win the game on the only goal of the game midway through overtime on a Semin one-timer.

"Don't think you can come in to our house and lay a dirty hit on Skinner (Coburn hit) and not expect retaliation. They knew it was a cheap shot so I did something to show we aren't afraid of a little violence. I would do it again to protect my teammates," Wisniewski also had this to say on if he thinks that the NHL will suspend him for the Hit "Absolutely I expect to miss some time. Its hockey man up. Sorry he got hurt but it will show them we aren't a team to mess with."

                      Hurricanes Roll through November

Even with Wisniewski missing 8 of the last 11 games of the month due to the NHL suspending him for the hit on Tyler Johnson the lightning finish the month 9-3-1. The NHL needs to take note that this team isn't going to give up a lot of goals a night with the rotation of Ward and Lack in the goaltenders spot. Ward has a .929S% and Lack a .934S%. That great play by the goaltenders helped this team give up only 2 goals or more in 4 games all month. In those games the team went 1-2-1 with the only game in which they gave up more then two goals a 4-1 loss to the kings.

Skinner and Staal are definately on there way to being two stars in the league as skinner leads the team in points with 26 (11G 15A) and Staal having 23 (8G 15A)

With a 14-7-3 record the Hurricanes find themselves only 3 points behind the Penguins and Flyers for first in the Metropolitan Division and 4 points ahead of the Devils

Re: There is a Storm Brewing!!!! Carolina Hurricanes Be A Gm

I'm sad to see this Be A Gm end but for the first time ever in a franchise on a sports game i didn't have a back up file of this saved. My system froze in the middle of a save and corrupted the file. I was 20-7-3 heading into a game against the 20-7-3 flyers for the best record not only in the division and conference but also the league. I'm beyond pissed that this is how it has to end when we were riding 9 or 10 game winning streak and had a streak of 14 games giving up 1 or less goals a game. I was hitting my stride with this team. I will be back with a new Dynasty to write as i feel that it has rejuvenated my love for playing offline dynasty and getting to share my strategies, opinion, and prospective with how i am running my team but also tell a story at the same time. Hopefully I will have a new one up soon.

Sorry to anyone that has been following this. I know reading some of these from other people like Son of Sam99's Red Wings dynasty or the LA Kings one has become a part of my day when I have the free time. Not sure how many people read mine tho
