SENS DOUBLE UP EDMONTON
October 28th, 2022
Continuing their westward road trip, the Senators took on the Edmonton Oilers. Connor McDavid and the Oilers were on a two game losing streak.
In this wide open back and forth game where both teams registered over 40 shots (44 for EDM, 42 for OTT), it was a dominant performance from the rookie Logan Brown that made everyone take notice.
Brown scored all four of the Ottawa goals; including two Powerplay Goals. His first goal game at 2:13 in the First Period off a great passing play from Wellmore. Brown's shot going topshelf past Cory Crawford. Brown's second goal came at 13:21 of the same period on the Powerplay. Eberle's point shot would be deflected to Wellmore who would make a slick pass to Brown on the far post for a quick tap in. The Hat-trick was notched 5:45 into the Second Period when Brown deflected an Eberle Slapshot on the Powerplay. The fourth goal came at 14:31 in the Third Period when he intercepted a pass and skated hard to the net, roofing a backhander over Crawford.

SENS PUSH WIN STREAK TO 5 WITH WIN IN MOTOR CITY
November 2nd, 2022
Jordan Eberle and Jon Merrill returned to the lineup as the Senators travelled to Detroit to take on the Red Wings. The Wings struggling this season thus far, with only one win on the season. With the return of Merrill, DeMelo was a healthy scratch for the Senators.
The Wings didn't do themselves any favors as they spent most of the First Period in the box, taking three straight penalties. Mikko Koivu scored his first goal of the season, seeing some time on the second powerplay unit. The Sens would end up going 2/6 on the Powerplay.
Wellmore would continue his torrent streak, scoring two goals for the Senators. Eberle also chipped in with a goal when he tipped in a Chabot wrister.

MERRILL'S LATE GOAL LIFTS SENS PAST WILD
November 5th, 2022
The Ottawa Senators continued to rely on the hot play of Wellmore as he would open the scoring just 3:19 into the First Period. Minnesota would battle back in the second period with goals from Zuccarello and Parise.
The Third Period would be all Ottawa however, as the Senators fired 12 shots on net while Minnesota managed 3 shots on net. During the barrage Wellmore would score his second goal off a pass from Merrill. With just 5 minutes left in the period, Koivu and Janmark would work the puck out to the point and Merrill's slapshot would find it's way into the back of the net. Giving the Sens a 3-2 lead.
Ottawa would continue to press for another goal and control a lot of the play, not allowing another shot from Minnesota. Wellmore would just miss scoring his third goal, but Jason Zucker would block the shot on the empty net.
The Senators will continue their West Coast road trip with stops at Vegas, Seattle and Vancouver.

PENALTY COSTS SENS
November 7th, 2022
The Senators travelled to Sin City to take on the Western Conference leading Vegas Golden Knights. The Senators currently on a 6 game winning streak.
Colin White opened the scoring in the Second Period after Eberle's snapshot was blocked by Fleury's pad, but the rebound came to White in the slot. White was able to lift the backhander up over Fleury's right shoulder to give the Sens the lead.
The Sens were able to hold the lead till the 17:20 mark in the Third Period. Vegas will till it up with a weird goal. Cody Glass carrying the puck would take a slapshot on net, but Wolanin would attempt a deflection and get his stick on it just enough to change direction and the puck would sail pass Condon.
In Overtime with shots 34 - 30 on goal, in favor of the Senators, White would get called for Tripping. Sending Vegas to the Powerplay. After winning the offensive zone faceoff, Vegas would control the puck until Statsny carrying the puck down low would center to Stone in the Low Slot all alone. Stone would end it with a quick snapshot over Condon's left shoulder as the Sens fall to Vegas 2-1.

CANUCKS DOWN SENS IN OVERTIME
November 12th, 2022
The Senators were in Vancouver for the final game of their Western Conference road trip. The Canucks playing mediocre hockey, coming into the game 3-5-2.
The Senators built up an early 4-1 lead but penalty trouble managed to let the Canucks get back into the game. Tyler Motte scored the tying goal with just over a minute to go in the Third Period. Quinn Hughes took a shot on goal and Condon let out a juicy rebound that Motte was able to pick up and roof over Condon's Blocker.
In Overtime, Wellmore would take an ill advised tripping penalty, sending the Canucks to the Powerplay. Petersson would score his 6th of the season off a sick pass from Horvat for the Game Winning Goal. Petersson would finish the game with a line of: 22:34 Ice Time 1 Goal, 2 Assists +1 PPG, GWG.
Both Goaltenders were busy in net, with Vancouver firing 49 shots on net and Ottawa firing 42. The Senator will return home in three days to take on the Eastern Conference Leading Washington Capitals.

I admit I succumbed. In my defense though, I have owned every single EA Sports NHL game from 2002-Present, with the exception of 2005 (or whatever hear the lockout occurred), and have played every single one, including the lockout year. Hard habit to break lolComment
