Man that was wild. Seems so long ago. That Double OT vs the Pens aged me like 5 years.

My game's goalie AI has gone wacko. It seems 80% of goalies have changed teams, leaving some stackhouses and others a dearth

      Example:

      Boston: Cam Talbot, Michael DiPietro
      Columbus: Thomas Greiss, Veini Vehvilainen
St Louis: Mike Condon, Ville Husso
Tampa Bay: Andrei Vasilevsky, Igor Karpovtsev (19years old, fringe starter, 57overall)

Ottawa is riding Jonas Korpisalo while Andersen remains playing backup

OTTAWA HAS ST.LOUIS SINGING THE BLUES IN THE RUBBER MATCH
          January 13th, 2022

It has been some time since the 4-0 humiliating loss at the hands of the Blues, and now after some personnel changes, the Sens have managed to string together some victories. The Blues on the other hand, have been on a six game losing streak of their own, going back to before the New Year.

At 15:35 of the second period, Tyler Bozak was able to redirect a Bouwmeester point shot for his 6th of the season. The Senators, who had been playing very well but having a hard time beating Binnington didn't do themselves any favors by being very undisciplined. Taking 6 minor infractions in the period.

Defender Colton Parayko looked to be in some discomfort after blocking a Kronwall slapshot with his ankle. He had to be helped off the ice, unable to put any weight on his ankle. Fast forward to the final minutes of the game, Coach Quenneville pulled Anderson with 48 seconds left. The Sens setup in the offensive zone and quickly tried to find an open lane for a shot. With less then 10 seconds left, Tkachuk rifles a snapshot that Binnington barely manages to get a piece of, but the rebound goes right to DuClair who then roofs it over the sprawling netminder, tying it with 0:04 seconds left.

Less then two minutes into Overtime, Chris Tierney blasts a shot on net for a line change, but Bozak attempting to pick it up redirects it and it slips past Binnington as the Sens stun the Blues in thrilling fashion. The Blues ended up 0/12 on the Powerplay, while the Senators when 0/4. Anderson would stop 31 of 32 shots and Binnington 40 of 42 shots.

            INJURY ALERT

D Colton Parayko suffered an ankle injury after blocking a Nik Kronwall slapshot. Parayko will be sidelined and out of the lineup for 6 weeks. Marco Scandella has been activated and will take his spot in the lineup.

I'm not sure because he plays for the Blues, but I imagine maybe 10-12. Big loss for them.

                    LIGHTNING BOTTLE UP SENS
                    January 14th, 2022

The condensed NHL Schedule had the Senators playing yet another back to back home stand, there adversaries was the Tampa Bay Lightning who were riding a 6 game win streak on the backs of leading scorer Steven Stamkos (36) and points leader (62) Nikita Kucherov.

In net, Merzlikens got the nod to face off against Vasilevskiy; who was certainly having an off year. The Senators played well and drew 5 First Period penalties, but was ice cold and unable to capitalize on their chances. Tyler Johnson broke the deadlock at 5:29 of the 2nd Period on a one-timer in the slot for his 15th for the season.

The Senators did a good job trying to contain the dual threat of Stamkos and Kucherov, but it's hard to stop them both. Kucherov circling the high slot would take a pass from Killorn and get off an absolute laser that easily beat Merzlikens for his 28th goal of the season and added to his 5 game point streak. The Sens continued to struggle on the Powerplay going 0/9.

In the end, Vasilevskiy stopped all 45 shots on net on his was to his 2nd Shutout of the year. Although not getting any support, Merzlikens would end with 34 saves in a losing cause.

JETS SOAR AS SENATORS SHUTOUT AGAIN
                      January 16th, 2022

Coming off a 2-0 Shutout at the hands of Tampa Bay, the Senators flew to Winnipeg to take on the ice cold Jets. Once a playoff contender, Winnipeg now find themselves sitting last in the Western Conference and only 5 points ahead of Ottawa for last in the league. It certainly didn't help when they lost
star Center Mark Scheifele and top Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to injury.

With Eric Comrie backing them up, the Jets took an early two goal lead in the First Period. Both goals came on the Powerplay. The Senators riding an abysmal 74.5% Penalty Kill, has allowed 24 more Powerplay Goals then the 31st Los Angeles Kings. The first goal came at the 15:40 mark after Laine launched a bullet snapshot past Anderson. The second was Mason Appleton working on the second Powerplay Unit with a nice deke in close.

After a scoreless second period Appleton, would strike again. This time on a 2 on 1 break with Ehlers. Anderson set at the top of the crease was playing the shot and didn't have the lateral speed to move across and save the quick shot from Appleton for his second on the night and 9th of the season.

The Sens had a very lackluster outing and didn't match the Jets intensity. Only registering 24 shots on net. Eric Comrie recorded his first shutout of the season and second of his career.

TRADE ALERT!!! OTTAWA SNAGS AN ELITE WINGER
                          January 17th, 2022

After being shutout for 6 straight periods, and the season in shambles, the Ottawa Senators sent out a press release, saying that help is on the way in the form of 31 year old RW Jordan Eberle.

                          To Ottawa:
Jordan Eberle (31) - Right Wing

                          To NY Islanders:
                          2022 2nd Round Pick
                          2022 3rd Round Pick (CBJ)

General Manager Petr Dano remarked that he received the call from Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello and was floored by the offer. Initially Lou wanted to move on from his aging talent and start rebuilding the core for this young team. The Isles were fishing for one of two First Round Picks that the Senators have, but in the end they settled for a 2nd and a 3rd.

Eberle was having a season hampered by injuries, but has been back playing healthy since the New Year. He currently has 10 goals and 14 assists in 36 games played. With him comes a $5.5 Million Dollar Salary for 4 years. A price tag the Senators can definitely afford at the present.

Eberle is expected to fly and join the team in Montreal in three days when they take on the Canadiens.

As the Senators took part in a practice, getting set to host the visiting Golden Knights, there was a noticeable absence in the locker room as the #81 stall of veteran player Ron Hainsey remained empty.

As the team took part in scrimmages and drills, it became more apparent that some lines were going to be shaken up, perhaps to induce a bit more scoring as the Sens have been ice cold in 5 on 5 situations in their past few games.

Based on today's practice, expect the lines to look like this:

Got any thoughts on how the lineup will look?

Based on who you have, this is what I'd do. Just my opinion, I'm not expert

I don't know if it's the tuner or what but I don't remember Al-Tito's Sliders being this rough. I also am pretty rusty on a very mediocre team. I think I can score but can't stop them from scoring.

I may just tinker with the sliders and up my accuracy a bit.

Thanks, I am a little biased because I always liked him, so I may slot out MacArthur (he's a 70OVR) for Brouwer. He's a Grinder that can score.

What I really need help with is my PP and PK lines. The AI keeps wanting to put forwards on my PPD positions.
