Jets Fantasy Draft (2012)

So, its been way to long since I have posted anything and what time better then now. And I am going way back in the series to NHL 2012 for Xbox 360... why not right? Kind of like the simple potential system.

Now I am playing this through as the Jets vrs the Leafs. One being someone is already doing a Leafs and second the Jets have never won a cup...

So if anyone followed my Leafs one from many moons ago then I am doing the same thing. Fantasy Draft by Pot by Age (no one older then 20) and then going from there. Oww I drafted Crosby (exception) and then traded him to the Wings for a 2012 1st & 2nd, 2013 1st & 2nd, 2014 1st.

Anyone surprised here??? I am as the youthful Leafs are batting for 47.5% in the pts category and only trail the 8th place Rangers by 2pts. Hmm

Detroit, which Jets hold their 1st this year sit at 23rd in the league.

This is my Depth Chart going into the offseason, only looking to resign Picard from the scrubs I signed last year. So there will be some holes to fill, via FA - Draft - Promotions..

Well as June 23 roles by the Jets had multiple picks in this draft including two 1st round picks at 2nd & 9th, and then three more in the 2nd round at 31st, 39th, and 50th.

My focus here was bigger guys all around and then on the offence more D minded individuals to eventual make the jump and balance out a offensive oriented club with Seguin, Hall, Burmistrov, Nied, etc. Could be exciting times in a couple of years. And of course, since I like having a padded goalie ranks I opted for another - giving me 4 potential guys to fight for the starter role.

2012/2013 SEASON

With the offseason and pre-season now behind the Jets, they move in two year two of their youthful rebuild. Standing at an average age of 19.8 and $11.4 million in Cap room, this year could go anyway.

The going plan is to stick with the team the Jets current have (below) but if the New Year roles in and the Jets are sitting with playoff likelihood, don't be surprised if management makes a few moves.

But before I post those covenant opening night lines a few Timbits.
* Role players either filling out the 4th line or extras were all signed to 1yr two way contracts.
1. Picard was brought back from last year as he impressed management on another 1yr.
- Kabanov, Connolly, Gormely, Pickard, Campbell all graduate from the minors and will see top line minutes (goalies will share the crease) on the Ice Caps.

20 GAMES IN

Ladies and gentlemen. The 2012 season has actually not been so bad for the Jets. Batting for 500 they are 3 pts from the 8th place Habs and have seen some of their numbers improve over last year, aka putting more pucks in the net. But as you can see with a combined minus 29 on the D corps they are not helping out 2nd year goalie Lehner. Yes they are young, okay very young, but if things don't improve, well I don't know.

Interesting item here scrub pickup Bollig, 4th line filler, actually has some decent offense going and is 4th in rookie scoring. Huh?

I know what I said about the D, but I am sticking with my plan and not making any moves unless the Jets are north of 9th place in the East.

Are you using a custom roster for this? The things I miss about the old PS3 games were custom rosters and custom music for the rinks.
