Back at it after what was a crazy 2020/21.

I'm looking forward to following this Dynasty through at least for 2-3 seasons as the fledging Kraken Expansion Team builds into a powerhouse of the West.

Should be interesting, so please follow along.

KRAKEN HOPE TO GROW AS A NEW TEAM

As the Kraken prepare for the regular season, the team hopes to shake off a rough preseason which saw the team go 1-6-1. To the casual observer this record would seem foreshadow a very long season, but to those who were paying attention will know that those preseason games will have been a heavy rotation of young players in the system as new General Manager Ron Francis watched the progress of many of the young players that the Kraken have recently been drafting. This endless rotation definitely helped management get a good look at all the talent, but unfortunately it did not end up letting any lines gel at all.

It is expected that Coach Dave Hakstol will announce his starting line-up on October 12th when the team plays their first NHL game in Las Vegas

KRAKEN FALL SHORT IN COMEBACK ATTEMPT
October 13th, 2021

For a brand new team the Seattle Kraken will have to gel quickly and form some chemistry. The team was tested in their first game ever as they took on the Cup Favourite Vegas Golden Knights.

Vegas came out strong scoring three goals in the first period, the Kraken battled back though with Jordan Eberle scoring the first goal in team history in the second period. Adam Larsson made it 3-2 early in the third, but the Knights would bury an empty netter to seal the game in a hard fought 4-2 Loss.

KRAKEN SHUT OUT IN NASHVILLE
October 14th, 2021

Juuse Saros made 28 saves in his shut out bid in a Predators 2-0 Win. Roman Josi scored his first of the season on the powerplay midway the second period.

Mikael Granlund padded the lead with his first early in the third period. The Kraken, despite being given two powerplays in the third, weren't able to capitalize.

MCCANN SHINES IN RETURN AS KRAKEN NOTCH FIRST POINT
October 16th, 2021

Jared McCann returned to the lineup after clearing Covid Protocol and immediately made an impact for his new team. He assisted on the game tying goal; setting up Jordan Eberle in the second and later scoring the game winner in overtime to earn an overtime win and first point for the franchise. His two point effort also earned him 1st Star honors.

KRAKEN BLOWN OUT IN HAKSTOLS RETURN TO PHILADELPHIA
October 18th, 2021


Hakstol, who coached the Flyers for 4 seasons before being fired was at the losing end of a 7-3 Loss, with his return to Philadelphia.

It wasn't a very pleasant return to Philadelphia for Dave Hakstol as the Flyers opened up with a 3 goal first period. The Flyers tacked on 2 more goals in the second and third as fans jeered "HAKSTOL, HAKSTOL" from the rafters. The Kraken managed to spot three goals in a losing effort. The team hopes to regroup as they travel next to New Jersey to take on the Devils.

BEAT DOWN IN NEW JERSEY
October 19th, 2021


Jared McCann registered his first career Hattrick scoring 3g 1a +4 in a lopsided 11-3 win over New Jersey.

Playing their second game in as many nights, the Kraken came out on a mission. The team scored early, registering a goal within the first five minutes of the period. Jarnkrok tallied another goal late in the first period to give Seattle a solid 2-0 lead.

The 0-4-1 Devils came out flat in the second period and the Kraken made them pay as the team rallied for a franchise high 6 goal period. The high flying Kraken didn't stop there as they tacked on three more goals in the third to embarrass the Devils at home.

When the dust settled, 14 players on Seattle registered at least one point, with Jared McCann registering his first Hattrick and Adam Larsson picking up six assists.

HOME SWEET HOME - KRAKEN DOMINATE IN FIRST WIN AT CLIMATE PLEDGE ARENA
October 23rd, 2021


Phillip Grubauer stonewalled the Vancouver Canucks, stopping 38 shots in a 3-1 Seattle win.

Philipp Grubauer earned First Star honors in tonight's game as he stopped a season high 38 shots in a hard fought 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Carson Soucy teed one up from the point, as the Kraken got on board at 9:31 of the first period for an early Powerplay goal. Jared McCann, who has been red hot scored his fourth goal of the season late in the second period.

With a 2-1 lead; late in the 3rd, Donskoi was able to bury an Empty Net Goal to ice the game.
